Chapter 403 How Can You Agree to This Wedding

The man's sexy fingers lightly tapped on the table.

Victoria glanced slightly and immediately felt her heart flutter when she saw that beautiful hand.

Alexander didn't rush to speak, just waited.

Victoria looked up only to see his sharp, movie-like face. All her sobriety, reason, and restraint disappeared at this moment.

She was like a foolish girl staring at her lover.

She still couldn't forget him.

This man, truly, was synonymous with elegance, nobility, and dominance.

She kept looking at him, almost forgetting to respond to him.

Alexander quietly met her gaze, enjoying the look of her heart fluttering when she looked at him.

"Do you have any instructions?" Victoria came to her senses, stood up, and asked.

"Come with me," Alexander replied, then took her hand.

Her hand was a bit cold. Alexander looked down, then wrapped her small hand with both of his.

Victoria was puzzled, but she let herself be led.

Then, she was pushed into the lounge.

Alexander pressed her shoulder, sat her on the edge of the bed, and whispered, "I need about an hour to finish some work. If you're not feeling well, lie down for a while, and we'll leave together later."

Victoria felt he deliberately left her there to see how he could play the role of a loving and caring man.

Sure enough, in no time, he came in with a glass of water. "Have some water and rest for a bit."

Victoria held the glass of water, unable to help the tears welling up in her eyes.

But she wasn't moved.

"I won't be moved," Victoria said.

"What?" Alexander was confused.

"I just find it unnecessary." Victoria's voice was soft, but her words were serious.

Alexander, hearing the word 'unnecessary', furrowed his brow slightly, asking her, "Why do you feel that way?"

"You blame me for not calling you and asking you to be home earlier. But if you had me in your heart, even a hint of pity for me, you would have given me a call. Yet, you gave me nothing, just the news of you going for a pregnancy check-up with your lover. Alexander, why bother to be so nice to me now? It's not necessary," Victoria said.

She was serious and unquestionable.

That was what she wanted to say at that moment.

The more caring he was towards her, the more she wanted to stay awake and leave him.

She hated herself for still fantasizing that he loved her.

That was simply impossible.

She didn't want to be a joke, living only in fantasies. That would be too sad.

"How can I get you to agree to this wedding?" Alexander didn't understand her thoughts, but he felt that everything could be discussed.

'How can I agree to this wedding? It's impossible,' Victoria sneered inwardly.

She thought for a moment, her hands gradually warming up. She looked at him and said, "Bring that person in front of me and let them face legal consequences."

"Okay, I'll do it as soon as possible," Alexander promised.

"I mean them, include the mastermind behind the scenes, even if it's Isabella," Victoria reminded him firmly.

Alexander stepped forward, knelt in front of her, held her hand, and looked at her with a firm and warm gaze. "Darling, don't overestimate the position of other women in your man's heart."

"If you can really do that, I will consider cooperating with you to complete the wedding," Victoria said, reminding herself not to misjudge again and not to fantasize while looking down at the water in the cup.

Alexander chuckled at her words. It seemed he had to work very hard to win back his wife.

"But don't expect that I will fall in love with you by doing this." Victoria was afraid he might misunderstand, so she quickly added.

"Oh…" Alexander suddenly looked dejected and lowered his head.

Victoria's heart tightened, thinking, 'Is he sad?'
