Chapter 883 They All Came to Find Her
Alexander ended the video call.
Victoria remembered that when they parted, he told her to take care.
He was much better than before, knowing to tell people to take care.
She put down her phone, slightly raised her eyes, but could no longer see the computer screen clearly.
She sincerely hoped that they could stay out of each other's lives in the future.
As he said before they parted, she could see Strawberry through anyone, except him.
She would instruct those people not to disturb him.
The door was knocked from the outside, and Victoria turned around, and stood up when she saw Arabella, "Mom."
"Were you just on a video call with your friend?"
Arabella asked curiously.
"It was a video call with Grandpa."
Victoria responded, instinctively tuning out Alexander.
"What's up?"
Arabella asked curiously again.
"Nothing much."
Victoria thought for a moment but didn't want to mention that name.
Arabella walked in, "Alexander was trending today, but it was a misunderstanding. He was explaining that, right?"
"That's right."
Victoria nodded and wanted to check her phone.
"Daisy must have some ulterior motive for getting close to Alexander. Now that you're gone..."
"Mom, it's okay."
"It's okay?"
Arabella looked at her puzzled.
"Yes, if he likes Ms. Bryant and they are together, but I believe you, Dad, and Grandpa and Grandma won't let Strawberry be wronged."
"Of course, but..."
"As long as that's the case, it's enough, Mom. He needs to start a new life."
Arabella felt something was off. She was supposed to console Victoria, but why did it feel like Victoria was persuading her?
"Mom, I've always wanted to tell you, that as long as Strawberry can grow up well, and we can see her and care for her from time to time, that's enough."
Arabella felt like running away.
She was most afraid of hearing such sincere words from Victoria.
But at this point, she seemed to have no choice but to listen.
Arabella nodded, "Alright."
"We've signed the divorce papers, so we can get divorced anytime. If they are together, we should just bless them."
"I can't agree with you on that. Daisy is too scheming, not suitable for our Harrington family."
"But if a person has no scheming at all, how can they be considered complete?"
"Everyone has some scheming unless they're a fool."
Victoria had long seen through this matter.
Everyone used scheming for their purposes.
Wasn't refusing all communication to avoid complex social relationships a kind of scheming?
After several near-death experiences, Victoria no longer cared about anything.
As for Alexander, she had no intention of getting back together.
Even if she had fallen in love with Alexander at first sight, it already felt like a lifetime ago, and that feeling had long since faded away.
"Alright, I understand what you mean."
Arabella said no more, and after Victoria finished her draft, she went shopping with Strawberry.
June had completely warmed up, perfect for shopping.
The next day, as soon as Alexander arrived at the office, he immediately called someone in, "Find out the source of yesterday's news. I don't want to see this person again."
"Okay."
"Also, call Frank and tell him to go to Elysium Country with Eve."
"Okay."
The subordinate quickly retreated, but Alexander still stood behind his desk, calmly flipping through documents.
His long fingers pressed on the line of text, and when he heard the door, he instinctively turned around.
"Mr. Harrington."
"Why didn't you knock?"
Alexander was momentarily dazed; this person was wearing the same black uniform Victoria wore to work.
"Mr. Harrington, I did knock."
It was the head of the HR department.
"What is it?"
Alexander guessed he had been distracted and didn't hear.
"Ms. Kensington asked me to find a backup secretary before she left."
"No need, for now, to bring Graham back."
Alexander, still in a good mood, refused but then thought of Maximus's former secretary, Graham Montague.
Although Graham had retired early, he was always well-versed in the company's affairs and could be useful.
"Okay."
The HR head agreed and immediately turned to leave.
With the icy air in the office, she felt she couldn't handle staying even a moment longer.
After she left, Alexander couldn't help but sneer.
Victoria had always been thinking about leaving.
Now, she finally got her wish.
They would never have contact again, not even through others.
Thinking this, Alexander immediately picked up his phone and called Arabella.
Arabella was shopping with Melissa. Seeing it was Alexander's call, she sighed before answering, "What's up?"
"Aren't you coming back?"
"Maximus is coming tomorrow. Melissa and I want to spend a few more days together. Why are you in such a hurry? Even if I go back, Victoria won't."
"You should come back sooner. Strawberry must be missing home." Alexander said indifferently.
"Whether you miss Strawberry or Victoria, only you know."
Arabella mocked and then hung up.
Alexander had to put down his phone.
He wouldn't miss Victoria; he hated her.
Benjamin's call suddenly came through, and Alexander answered, "What's up?"
"Tessa and I are planning to go to Elysium Country to buy some things. Do you want to come?"
"No."
After a few seconds of silence, Alexander answered.
Benjamin asked him, "This is a perfect opportunity and a good excuse. Think it over before you answer."
After saying that, Benjamin hung up. He looked at Edward sitting across from him and said, "Alexander might not come."
"He's probably too proud to." Edward speculated.
"Has Olivia forgiven you?"
"I'm planning to take Olivia on a big shopping spree to make her happy. Besides, seeing Victoria over there will lift her spirits. Isn't that a chance to reconcile?" Edward said to Benjamin.
Benjamin smiled but quickly sent a message to Tessa confirming the trip to Elysium Country.
Soon, they were on a plane and arrived at Victoria's place. Victoria was pushing a stroller with Strawberry at the door. When their car stopped, they saw two other people with backpacks standing in front of Victoria, so they didn't rush to get out.
Victoria saw the two people and thought she was hallucinating.
"Mrs. Harrington."
Eve suppressed her excitement but couldn't help but smile after calling out.
Seeing Eve smile, Victoria immediately smiled too, and walked forward with the stroller, "What are you doing here?"
"Mr. Harrington sent us to take care of you and Ms. Harrington," Eve said happily.
Since Victoria left, Eve hadn't been sleeping well, always worried that Victoria couldn't take care of herself, let alone Strawberry.
Although Arabella brought a group of servants, Eve always felt they couldn't take good care of Victoria.
Victoria had a real talent for putting on a brave face around elders.
"Tori."
"Victoria."
Just after they met, Victoria heard familiar voices calling her from behind.
The three of them looked towards the black car, and Victoria suddenly felt like she might be dreaming.
Why was everyone here?
Victoria was happy for a few seconds, but her expression quickly turned tense.
"Victoria, we missed you so much."
Tessa ran out of the car, excitedly running up to Victoria and holding her hand.
"I missed you too. Why are you all here?"
"We came to buy some things and give you a surprise."
Tessa explained, holding Victoria's hand, and then looked at the people getting out of the car with Victoria.
Victoria held her breath, watching Benjamin, Edward, and Olivia get out. She couldn't relax at all with the car door hanging open.
