Chapter 747 The One Who Should Be Standing Outside Is You

Alexander suddenly leaned in, whispering something into Victoria's ear with a grin.

Victoria's face turned beet red. When he pulled back and looked at her again, her big, clear eyes were locked on him. She quickly pressed her bag against his face and snapped, "You're such a perv."

Alexander just laughed. She tried to leave, but he wouldn't let her go.

Victoria didn't know why, but she suddenly felt a bit hot.

Was Alexander actually seducing her?

She was a bit mad at herself for feeling anything. After removing the bag, she plopped down on his lap, facing away from him, and said, "You can't tell me you haven't been with another woman this whole time, right?"

"...I have."

"Well, I don't lack men either."

Victoria said, trying to get up again.

But he held her, looking at her and asking, "Really?"

"I don't have a lover, but I have men around, and they're young."

Victoria raised an eyebrow but didn't dare to look at him.

Alexander's eyes narrowed slightly before saying, "Really? You don't switch them out every night, do you? With your health condition?"

"Don't you know the woman just need to lie down to enjoy..."

Before she could finish, he suddenly bit her shoulder.

"Looks like I was worried for nothing. Can I press you down on the desk right now and let you enjoy?"

Alexander asked her in a low, restrained voice.

Alright, she admitted she couldn't just lie down and enjoy.

There was a time when she couldn't even move.

"I'll go back with you. If you insist on driving that old car, I'll sit in the passenger seat. I haven't seen Strawberry all day either."

He finally said something serious.

Victoria didn't argue anymore.

She agreed.

But on the way back, he still opened his phone and suddenly started reading, "Beck Brown, thirty-six years old, owner of the firm, specializes in criminal cases. You found the wrong lawyer."

Victoria's heart tightened. At a red light, she glanced at him and said with a blank expression, "You investigated him?"

"I need to know if the lawyer you found is qualified to handle this case. You know the Harrington Group's lawyers are always undefeated."

What he said was true, the Harrington Group's lawyers had never lost a case.

"If you want to go to court, you won't win against me. This is the best state you're in right now, you should understand."

Alexander put away his phone, seriously reminding her.

He naturally knew the lawyer Victoria found wasn't a small character, but he also knew that a lawsuit between them wouldn't work.

He wouldn't let go.

Whether it was Strawberry or her.

"I want my daughter and me to breathe freely."

"I'm not letting you breathe?"

"I want a place without you."

Victoria was still driving seriously. However, Alexander looked at her with a sorrowful gaze, then turned to look outside.

Her words had trailed off into an uncomfortable silence, one that hung heavily between them.

Later, Alexander opened the window, and the cold wind blew in, chilling their skin but also dispelling the tense and stifling atmosphere.

When the car returned to Rockland Street, Adrian's call came again. Before Victoria could answer, Alexander saw the number and immediately took her phone. As he got out of the car, he answered, "Do you not want to stay here? I said she always will be your sister-in-law."

"So, are you going to make it so I can never return to the country like my parents?" Adrian's voice was low and hurt, and Alexander tried to keep his cool.

Victoria stepped up, calmly saying, "Give me back my phone."

If it were before, he would've just turned off the phone and handed it to her, but this time, he didn't care. He tossed it into her hand and strode into the building with his long legs.

He hated the cold distance between them, the way her concept of freedom seemed to exclude him entirely.

This heartless Victoria, did she really think he liked her so much that he'd beg her to stay?

Now with Strawberry, maybe things really should be different.

Victoria answered the phone and walked inside, "Adrian, I can't come over today."

"What about tomorrow?"

Victoria said in a guilty tone, "Adrian, I'm really sorry."

"You're not even going to come up with an excuse?"

Adrian murmured on the other end, sounding like an abandoned child.

Indeed, she couldn't make excuses anymore.

They had already made things clear. He had taken care of her, made many decisions for her when she needed it most, and she was very grateful.

But it was precisely because of this gratitude that she had to be ruthless.

Victoria hung up the phone and walked inside.

Alexander was still waiting inside, which she hadn't expected.

Alexander said nothing. When he saw her walk in, he walked ahead after a couple of seconds.

Eve was cooking, Victoria was inside breastfeeding Strawberry, and Alexander stood at the door for a while. Since she always had her back to him, he didn't care. He said in a low voice, "I'll say it again, if you want freedom, I can give it to you, but you can't take Strawberry."

Victoria didn't say anything, just quietly watched Strawberry eat.

Seeing her ignore him, with the two people in the kitchen quietly discussing how to cook, Alexander felt a pang of sadness. He said in a cold and low voice, "I can also give you some extra alimony. You can live however you want in the future. If you really like children, you can have more. Strawberry is my child, and no one can take her away from me."

Victoria remained silent for a while.

"If you don't leave, then don't act like I'm forcing you to stay here. Don't show me an unhappy face every day."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards the kitchen.

He couldn't stand it anymore.

"If you two have something to say, say it louder. Why are you whispering?"

Alexander walked in and said.

Eve immediately fell silent, not saying a word.

Frank naturally didn't dare to provoke him either.

They had come to the kitchen to avoid making Alexander uncomfortable by seeing them together, but they still ended up provoking him. Frank quietly backed out.

Alexander ignored their patience and continued, "The rule is against workplace romance. I hope not only the office staff but also you two understand this."

Frank gave Eve a meaningful look behind Alexander's back, signaling that now was not the time to make any sound of dissent.

Victoria, sitting by the bed in the room, could naturally hear Alexander's words.

The house was small, and with five people inside, any movement was hard to hide.

"You stay outside from now on."

"Yes."

Frank never expected Alexander to suddenly turn on him.

Victoria put down the sleeping Strawberry and stood at the door, looking at the tall, commanding Alexander inside, "Alexander, if anyone should be standing outside in this house, it's you."
