Chapter 867 Conspiracy, Tracking

Diana snapped back to reality and saw Benjamin frowning at his phone. She asked, "Did you call Alexander?"

"Yes."

"Strawberry has a fever and has been crying. He's trying to calm her down, so his phone is probably on silent," Diana said.

"Strawberry has a fever? What about Victoria?"

"Victoria? She's in the hospital. She fell down the airplane steps and got knocked out."

"You didn't know, did you? If Alexander had been a few minutes later, Victoria would have flown off with Adrian and Strawberry."

After Diana finished explaining what she knew, Benjamin felt that something was off.

Victoria was injured, but Alexander didn't care.

If it were any other time, Alexander would have been heartbroken.

Benjamin put down his phone, feeling troubled.

"Is Victoria awake?"

"Yes, she did hit her head or something, didn't she?"

"What?"

"She said I was nice. Or does she have some kind of scheme?"

"She must have hit her head. She seems a bit off," Diana quickly concluded.

Victoria had successfully scared Diana without any effort.

As the two were pondering, Benjamin's phone suddenly rang.

Seeing it was Alexander, Benjamin answered immediately, "What's going on with you?"

"What? Weren't you the one who called me?"

"Yes, Diana is here with me. She said you don't want Victoria anymore, just Strawberry?"

"Diana is with you? Good. Tell her to remind that woman that no one at the Harrington Mansion knows about this. Tell her to keep it to herself and not to spread it around."

Alexander said coldly and hung up.

Benjamin felt like something had just sliced through his heart.

That didn't sound like something Alexander would say to Victoria.

Benjamin looked up at Diana, "You heard all that."

Benjamin had the speakerphone on.

"I'm not going. Why is Alexander asking me to go again?"

Diana panicked.

For some reason, she suddenly felt too scared to face Victoria.

What if she saw Victoria and Victoria pretended to be weak and praised her?

She wasn't a good person; she didn't need praise from someone she disliked, like Victoria.

And looking at Victoria lying in the hospital bed, Diana didn't feel any pleasure.

She thought it was probably because they were both women.

Otherwise, how could she feel any pity for Victoria?

Victoria had taken so much love from Alexander.

But in the end, Diana found herself standing at the door of Victoria's ward.

Adrian was outside, and Diana immediately walked over, "What are you doing here?"

"Diana, I'm worried about Victoria."

Adrian said to Diana, looking distraught.

"Then why don't you go in and see her?"

"I did. She was sleeping, so I came out." Adrian explained.

Diana noticed Adrian didn't look well either, but after thinking for a moment, she couldn't help but softly ask him, "Tell me honestly, did you and Victoria ever have a relationship?"

Adrian thought he had misheard and looked at Diana in surprise.

"You don't have to hide it from me. I won't tell Alexander."

Diana whispered, her expression suggesting that Adrian could fully trust her.

"I love her."

"I know. And then?"

"She loves Alexander."

Diana wasn't satisfied with this answer.

"I wish we had been in a relationship, but we weren't. Diana, I want to take Victoria away."

Adrian said thoughtfully to Diana.

"Sure, Alexander doesn't want her anyway. But are you that set on her? Isn't it weird for two brothers to be in love with the same woman?"

Diana felt a bit uncomfortable.

"I don't want to possess Victoria."

"Then what is it?"

"I want to make Victoria happy, Diana. I want to take her and Strawberry away."

Diana suddenly fell silent. After a while, she seriously reminded Adrian, "Adrian, Strawberry is a Harrington family child."

"I know, but Strawberry is also Victoria's child. Victoria risked her life to give birth to Strawberry. She has the right to raise her."

"But don't you think Strawberry would have a better life with the Harrington family? We have everything. What can Victoria provide for Strawberry?"

"Victoria may not be as wealthy as the Harrington family, but she's not poor. And think about it, Diana, if you had a child, would you let her stay with her father?"

"Of course, if her father could give her a better life."

Diana thought, 'What's the problem with that?'

'No matter who the child stays with, she gave birth to her.'

'And a good life is too important.'

"Maybe when you become a mother, you won't speak so lightly."

Adrian felt a bit heartbroken seeing how casually Diana spoke.

Diana thought about it and felt Adrian had a point. Then she remembered, "I almost forgot what I was supposed to do. Wait here; I'll go find Victoria."

Adrian waited outside and soon heard Diana, uncharacteristically stammering, say to Victoria on the hospital bed, "Um, Alexander's message is that no one at the Harrington Mansion should know about your injury. It's best if they don't know about you trying to run away with Strawberry either."

Victoria looked at Diana but said nothing.

Diana felt a bit guilty, "Last time, I said the elders knew about this because I wanted you to stop thinking about our Harrington family. But this time, I'm telling the truth. You can ask Benjamin; I was in his office talking to him, and he heard it on speakerphone."

"I believe you," Victoria replied weakly.

Diana couldn't stand Victoria's submissive demeanor and felt like a villain, so she quickly turned and left.

But once outside, Diana thought she might be able to verify if Victoria had given birth herself.

With modern medicine, if Victoria had a scar on her belly, a gynecologist could check it to find out, right?

Diana thought, 'Arabella must know a gynecologist.'

'I can't find anyone for this; they'd think it's strange.' Thinking this, Diana drove home.

Adrian remained present, and although two tall men were guarding the door, none of them paid him any mind.

The Harrington Mansion.

"Mom, which gynecologist are you most familiar with in our city's hospital?"

"What?"

In the spacious living room, Arabella sat alone, engrossed in a newspaper. Hearing Diana's question, she immediately looked at Diana with a tense expression.

"Don't worry, I'm not pregnant. It's just that a friend of mine had a baby and has been uncomfortable with her scar. She wants a doctor to check out. I thought you might know someone, so I asked you."

Diana thought this explanation was flawless.

But just mentioning "a friend" was enough to make people nervous.

"You must know someone. Just introduce me to a trustworthy gynecologist." Diana said coquettishly.

Arabella scrutinized Diana, "Didi, if something's going on, you need to tell me the truth, okay?"

Arabella thought, 'Diana had been away for so many years. Could it be that she came back because she was pregnant?'

"I know."

"Good. Victoria is missing, no news all day. She isn't answering her calls, and I'm worried about her. You can't add to my worries. If something happens, tell me immediately."

"Got it. Now, please introduce me to a gynecologist. My friend needs it."

"It better be that way."

Arabella found a number on her phone and gave it to Diana.

"Felix."

As soon as Diana left, Arabella called Felix back.

"Mrs. Harrington, I'm here."

Felix ran over.

"Follow Diana immediately. Don't let her notice you. See what she's doing at the hospital."

Arabella instructed.
