Chapter 595 Take It All Away
Alexander said, "Take it all away. This way, I really shouldn't care anymore."
In the midst of darkness, his voice resonated with a remarkable determination.
With a firm grip on her delicate wrist, he forcefully guided her hand to rest upon his chest, compelling her to make the right choice.
Victoria forced herself to stay calm, silently feeling the warmth there until something hard touched her fingertips, and her heart started to heat up.
It was their wedding ring.
——
The next day, Alexander was gone all day.
"Last night, I ran into Isabella at the hotel. She was bragging to others about staying at the hotel with Alexander."
Arabella, knowing Eloise was feeling unwell and unwilling to go home, came to their new house to keep Eloise company and chatted.
"Isabella is really shameless. There are so many people staying at the same hotel, and only she loves to flaunt it."
Eloise complained discontentedly after hearing this.
"Don't be upset. I've taught her a lesson last night after hearing her talk. With Alexander and Victoria's wedding approaching, we can't let her ruin it this time."
"You did the right thing, but we still need to be cautious of Isabella. I'm afraid she'll scare Victoria." Eloise, sitting on the bed, seriously instructed.
"Yes, we should still be cautious," Arabella agreed seriously, then looked at Eloise again and suddenly noticed that Eloise's face was flushed, not looking unwell. But hearing a knock on the door, she didn't say anything more.
Victoria walked in. "Mom, you're here."
"Why are you up so early? Alexander said you slept late last night and told us not to wake you for breakfast," Arabella said.
Victoria responded gently, "I'm fine. How's Grandma feeling?"
Hearing those words while visiting Eloise, Victoria was actually very touched but also felt an invisible pressure.
"As long as Isabella doesn't mess up your wedding this time, I'll be happy and feel better." Eloise held Victoria's hand and had her sit by the bed.
They chatted for a while. Arabella said, "You and Alexander should settle down after this wedding and have a child. Maximus used to socialize a lot, but after having Alexander, he didn't like socializing anymore and stayed with us. Later, when Diana was born, Maximus didn't like going out at all."
"Got it." Victoria smiled awkwardly but politely.
Actually, she could see that Maximus was a very family-oriented man.
She used to think Alexander would be the same, but later...
Despite his words from the previous night, she couldn't shake off the feeling of insecurity that lingered within her.
"You two are so good-looking; your child will definitely be beautiful. I've even thought of names," Eloise said.
"What names?" Victoria asked curiously.
"If it's a boy, we'll call him John Harrington. If it's a girl, we'll call her Mary Harrington."
Not only was Victoria surprised, but even Arabella was shocked.
They thought, 'Are the next generation's names so perfunctory In this prestigious family?'
"Mom, you must be joking, right?" Arabella was the first to object.
"Of course, I'm joking. I just wanted to make Victoria happy. The names should be chosen by Victoria," Eloise immediately said.
"You scared me," Arabella responded.
Victoria was a bit nervous too, but seeing Arabella pat her chest and say this, she laughed.
They probably would not have children.
Alexander didn't come back until evening.
Victoria answered his call, and he said, "I have something to do outside. I'll be back later."
"Got it." She agreed and then hung up.
Actually, she didn't feel that his return timing mattered much, as she had to be there for Eloise regardless.
At that moment, Alexander was actually in a private room at the Harrington Group's hotel.
"What? Arrive on the island a night early?" Edward was surprised after hearing Alexander's words.
Benjamin, William, and Sebastian were also a bit surprised. They had enough time to arrive on the island that morning.
"But don't tell anyone else," Alexander reminded him seriously.
"So you're planning a secret wedding?" Benjamin asked, puzzled.
Alexander explained, "The relevant personnel have already contacted the media. The wedding will be recorded and broadcast the next day."
Sebastian was the first to understand Alexander's intention and asked, "Are you afraid of any accidents?"
"Yeah, especially you." Alexander nodded.
"I understand." Sebastian quickly gave the appropriate answer.
He had a relationship with Isabella.
Recently, they rarely mentioned Isabella at their gatherings. That name seemed inappropriate to appear in their conversations, meaning it would gradually disappear among them.
Alexander wasn't too worried about him because Sebastian also wanted to gain control of the Montague Group, and a long-term relationship with Isabella wouldn't benefit him.
William couldn't help but ask, "Is this really your idea? Or is it actually your wife's idea?"
Hearing the words "your wife," Alexander felt inexplicably annoyed.
He said so much last night, but he was still sent to sleep on the couch.
If Victoria could make decisions, he would definitely be happy.
Unfortunately, she wouldn't give him that chance.
Since their reunion, no matter how he explained or threatened, she always said she was tired, she didn't love him anymore and she didn't want him anymore.
She was such a small girl, yet so determined to reject him.
'How can she give up so easily?' Thinking about it made Alexander a bit sad.
However, noticing that the others were waiting for his answer, he respectfully said, "I haven't told her yet."
The others immediately looked at him with puzzled eyes.
"I guarantee she'll be on the island, and everything that day will go smoothly," Alexander said responsibly in a deep voice.
The others thought it shouldn't be difficult for Alexander.
Benjamin even joked, "Olivia said your grandma suddenly fell ill in your new house. Is that why you're so confident?"
Alexander's face turned cold instantly.
Some wanted to laugh but didn't dare.
Edward, being smart, said, "Anyway, as long as Victoria still likes you, it's fine. Girls just need a bit of coaxing to win them back."
"Don't think you won over Olivia. You two might not be sure who the hunter is," Benjamin reminded Edward.
Sebastian and William, sitting on the side, tried hard to stay serious, but they couldn't help agreeing with Benjamin.
Alexander glanced at his watch, then stood up and grabbed his coat. "I'm heading back."
"Hey, you're leaving us without even an excuse?"
"Didn't you tell me to coax Victoria?" Alexander retorted.
"By the way, Olivia asked me to remind you not to always buy strawberries for your wife. Even delicious food can get boring if eaten every day," Edward added.
Alexander didn't argue and turned to leave.
He was no longer afraid she'd get bored.
They had decades to spend together. If she got bored early, he could think about how to grow old together with her sooner.
