Chapter 660 Do You Think You're the Only One Who Can Leave No Trace?

"Are you nuts? That's the boss's wife you're talking about."

The security guard squinted in the sunlight, looking all smug and judgmental.

Isabella snapped, "Don't you know she used to..."

"Ms. Montgomery, cut it out. In regular families like ours, we teach our daughters to find a good partner and not mess up someone else's marriage. Didn't your parents teach you the same, even in your fancy world?"

The security guard's accent was thick, but as soon as he finished, Isabella's face twisted in anger.

"You don't get it, Victoria's the real homewrecker," Isabella shot back, fuming.

"Well, I didn't know that. All I know is they're legally married and seem pretty tight. You got plenty of guys chasing you, so why bother?"

"You, I..." Isabella was floored that a security guard had the nerve to talk back to her, but thinking of Victoria inside, she couldn't just walk away.

She stormed back to her car but didn't leave.

She figured Victoria would come out for lunch, and she'd catch her then.

But soon, Isabella's phone buzzed. It was Naomi. She sighed, annoyed, and answered, "Hey, Mom."

"Where are you? Arthur is rallying the company's top execs for votes, don't you know?"

"Chill, I've got someone on it. They won't get anywhere." Isabella sounded super confident.

"Really? Isabella, no matter what, you need to put Alexander's issues aside for now. Securing control of the company is our top priority."

"Don't sweat it. I'm hanging up," Isabella said and ended the call, still staring at the entrance of the Harrington Group office building.

Naomi, however, was pacing in her office, uneasy.

Originally, the Montgomery Group only saw Isabella as the heir.

But ever since Arthur's scandal...

Men naturally have more options than women, and Isabella didn't seem to care. Naomi was getting more and more worried.

The big company meeting was coming up, and if Isabella got booted, they'd be left with nothing. No way that could happen.

Naomi rushed out of her office, making sure to lock the door behind her.

She headed to the prison.

Dorian, in his prison garb, looked thinner but still neat and composed.

He still had that dignified look that could fool anyone.

"We've always been grooming Isabella as the heir, right?" Naomi asked, trying to sound pitiful.

"I never actually groomed her as the heir. She's a girl," Dorian said, dead serious.

Naomi was stunned, "But you always said..."

"Of course, I said that to keep both you and Isabella happy."

Dorian didn't let her finish and laid out his reasoning.

Naomi felt a pang of emotion but quickly regretted it.

"But in reality, I groomed her and gave her confidence so she'd marry well, forming an alliance that would benefit the Montgomery Group."

"What?" Naomi was floored.

"Girls eventually get married. I can't let her run the Montgomery Group. If she can contribute to the company and have a strong family to lean on, she'll be happier than most girls in the world," Dorian continued.

Naomi then realized this man had never told her a single truth.

She asked, "So, Isabella is just a tool for the Montgomery family?"

Dorian said, "That's a bit harsh. We're all in this family together, and unity is what wins the game."

"Dorian, I used to think you were just a sleazeball. Didn't expect you to be this sneaky," Naomi said, standing up. She knew Dorian was a lost cause. At her age, she had to look out for herself.

She turned and walked out.

The Montgomery family was really falling apart.

Naomi even thought about changing their last name to Collins, Isabella Collins.

She should go back to her maiden name, and her daughter should take it too.

In the end, she only had a daughter. So be it, they’d stick together.

But Naomi suddenly thought of something, glanced back at Dorian before leaving, and then smiled.

Dorian caught her smile and found it creepy. He frowned but figured Naomi couldn't change anything, so he shrugged it off.

Victoria didn't come out with Alexander at noon but with Janaye.

Alexander had a lunch meeting with a business partner in the annex building, with Shoure tagging along. Janaye took Victoria to a restaurant they used to hit up.

But as soon as they stepped out, Isabella's car zoomed up to them.

Isabella wanted to ram her car right into Victoria. She even pictured Victoria lying in a pool of blood, dead with her unborn kid.

But she still had dreams about her and Alexander, so she held back. She wanted to live better than everyone else. As a classy heiress, she couldn't let herself become a murderer.

That was for desperate people.

So Isabella stopped the car next to Victoria.

Janaye pulled Victoria back, but she was also on edge.

Seeing Isabella in the car, Janaye couldn't help but ask, "Isabella, what do you want?"

Isabella only stared at Victoria. She even thought that Victoria already had a maternal glow.

But Victoria had only been pregnant for a few days.

Her face was a bit rounder, but she looked very weak.

"Isn't pregnancy a pain?" Isabella smirked.

"Mind your own business." Victoria didn't want to talk to her and pulled Janaye to leave.

Isabella immediately turned the steering wheel, blocking their way.

But the next second, Victoria's phone rang. She answered it and then stepped back.

Isabella thought she was scared and was about to open the car door when suddenly a car zoomed by in her peripheral vision.

A loud crash.

Isabella's body shook violently from the impact, and she stumbled out of the car, looking in disbelief at her wrecked ride. She turned to see the car that had hit her.

Frank also got out and walked towards her with big strides.

Isabella immediately felt uneasy, her heart skipped a beat, and she retreated in panic.

"Consider this a warning not to mess with Mrs. Harrington again, or you'll end up like this car," Frank said coldly.

Janaye and Victoria watched from behind, thinking Frank looked so cool.

"Are you saying you're willing to go to jail to kill me?" Isabella sneered, feeling guilty but still trying to act tough.

Frank stepped closer, lowering his voice so only she could hear, "Do you think you're the only one who can leave no trace?"
