Chapter 889 Ask Her If She Wants to Sleep Together
Victoria instantly shut the door, pressing herself against it, barely daring to breathe.
Her eyes were filled with intense emotions.
She knew it had to be Alexander.
Even though, it still felt unreal to her.
But she didn't have time to think too much about their situation because she remembered Alexander said he came to deliver Strawberry.
Victoria immediately turned around and opened the door.
Alexander glanced upstairs, ignoring Victoria, and turned to stride towards the door.
When the police knocked, Alexander opened the door and learned the truth. He sighed helplessly but patiently apologized to the officers.
Victoria went to the living room to check on Strawberry, who was sleeping soundly in the crib, before heading to the door to apologize as well.
In front of the police, they looked like a couple.
Their relationship seemed cold, yet they also appeared like a couple reuniting after a long time.
After the police left, Victoria didn't stay for a few seconds before going back inside.
Alexander glanced at Victoria's back, feeling a strange pang of sadness.
How did Victoria become like this?
She was excessively thin, and her face was pale.
"Mr. Harrington, why are you here at this hour?"
"I just got off the plane and had some business to take care of before coming over."
Alexander patiently explained, already following Victoria to the living room.
Victoria didn't look at him, just bent over to check on Strawberry in the crib. "I'll take Strawberry upstairs."
But as soon as Victoria reached out to pick up Strawberry, a pair of hands had already lifted her. "You better not. You can't even take care of yourself. I'll carry Strawberry."
Alexander said, already carrying Strawberry towards the stairs.
Victoria was displeased but immediately followed.
"I was planning to have Frank and Eve pick up Strawberry after they got their marriage certificate."
"I came to handle some business, and the elders insisted I bring Strawberry."
There was no need to explain further; the meaning was clear.
He didn't come on his own; he was forced to.
Victoria didn't say more, watching him carry Strawberry to the children's room. She then spoke, "Take her to my room."
Alexander stopped and turned to look at Victoria.
Victoria just stared at Strawberry in his arms and said, "Thank you."
Alexander said nothing, carried Strawberry to her room, and saw a baseball bat on the cabinet. He put Strawberry down first and asked, "Did you think a thief broke in?"
"Yes."
Who came to someone's house in the middle of the night?
And he always seemed to do this.
Victoria never expected it to be Alexander, especially after how decisively he spoke in Ankenra City.
"You always think I'm a thief."
He smiled helplessly and murmured.
Victoria didn't hear clearly but felt a pang of sadness.
She wanted to check on Strawberry, but he was sitting by the bed. She said softly, "It's raining heavily. You can stay here tonight. I'll have someone prepare the guest room for you."
"Did you know Olivia is pregnant?"
Alexander suddenly said.
Victoria turned to look at him, unable to hide her surprise, and asked softly, "She hasn't told me yet. When did this happen?"
"Last month."
Alexander said, looking up at her eyes filled with a smile, but his expression grew darker.
Victoria, under his gaze, came back to her senses, lowered her head to hide her emotions, and said, "I'll call her to congratulate her tomorrow. I won't disturb her tonight."
"Okay."
Alexander agreed.
Victoria glanced at him quietly, wondering why he hadn't left yet.
Someone he said he would never contact again suddenly appeared in her house, sitting on her bed.
Alexander seemed unburdened.
Victoria couldn't help but glance at Alexander again, but quickly lowered her eyes.
Why was he staring at her?
Victoria thought she probably looked terrible now, lowered her head, and wanted to ask if he needed a ride.
Alexander, seeing her hesitant look, sighed helplessly and asked, "Did you forget I told you to take care of yourself?"
Victoria was stunned.
Take care of herself?
She lowered her head, and replied softly, "I just had a cold recently and am a bit tired now."
Alexander's eyes narrowed, thinking she was trying to get rid of him.
They hadn't seen each other for so long, and she didn't even ask how he was, just wanted him to leave.
Alexander looked at Victoria, thinking about the day she boarded Adrian's private plane and what happened afterward. He sighed irritably and stared at her, "If you're tired, go to bed early."
Victoria saw him sitting there, not moving, thinking, 'How can I sleep if you don't leave?'
She couldn't help but look at Strawberry behind him. This time, he didn't break his promise and let her see Strawberry. But he didn't need to deliver Strawberry himself, and even if he did, why was he still sitting here?
Victoria, frustrated, pinched her knuckles, thinking about how to ask him to leave without being abrupt.
Alexander called her, "Victoria."
"What?"
Victoria lowered her head, unwilling to talk to him.
Unless he was leaving now.
"Long time no see."
Victoria slowly lifted her eyes in confusion.
Finally, their eyes met.
But Alexander's gaze was much more composed than before.
Victoria's heart inexplicably raced, quickly lowering her head, thinking, 'Is this the time for greetings?'
Besides, they knew each other so well, that these polite lies were unnecessary.
She didn't want to waste time and asked him, "Do you need me to call a car for you?"
"What?"
"I don't have a guest room."
Victoria said softly but seriously.
Alexander heard it, and his composed eyes couldn't hide his smile. Then he pretended to be serious and slowly lay back.
She immediately looked up, stunned at him.
What was he doing?
He smiled faintly, but it gave a sense of recklessness and arrogance, and also a hint of provocation.
Victoria could barely calm down, wanting to grab his arm and pull him up.
Even though Alexander had turned off the power in her house, she didn't want him sleeping in her bed.
But he wanted to provoke her.
Victoria struggled to contain the beast within her.
She didn't want to scare Strawberry.
Victoria said softly, "You can sleep here, but take a shower first."
"What?"
Alexander pretended to be surprised.
Victoria thought he was doing it on purpose. What did he want?
She lowered her head and went to the other side, planning to carry Strawberry. He suddenly reached out and held Strawberry, his deep eyes staring straight at her.
Victoria, frightened by his gaze, said softly, "I'll take Strawberry downstairs to sleep."
"No need."
Victoria looked at Alexander, seeing the cunning in his smiling eyes.
She didn't know if he was teasing her or what. She looked down at Strawberry carefully, then got up, "Then I'll go myself."
"Vicky."
Alexander propped his head with one hand, speaking to her in a lazy voice.
Victoria's eyes showed a bit of anger at his unreasonable behavior.
Alexander suddenly became serious, saying in a deep voice, "We'll go back tomorrow."
"What?"
"Do you want to stay and sleep together?"
Alexander seriously asked Victoria.
