Chapter 754 You Are Really Arrogant

The next morning, the sun was shining bright.

Victoria, feeling parched, sent a quick text and went back to sleep.

Not long after, someone came to her bedside and asked, "Mrs. Harrington, I heard you wanted some water?"

Victoria slowly opened her eyes and saw a beautiful hand. She looked up and saw Alexander standing there. He looked fresh, like he just got out of the shower, with a clear, clean vibe about him.

"Need help getting up?" Alexander asked with a friendly smile.

Victoria rolled over, grabbed her phone, and checked it. She was sure she had texted Eve, but now Alexander was in her room.

Ignoring the discomfort in her waist, she got up and looked at him, a bit annoyed, "Why are you here?"

"Eve's making breakfast. Want some water?" Alexander explained, his tone cool but clear.

Even though Victoria wasn't a fan of his, she still needed that water. She took a sip, feeling revived, then looked at him again and asked, "Did you shower here?"

Alexander grinned, "Yep, but there's more. I slept here last night. Right next to you."

"You..." Victoria was instantly furious.

But he just grinned wider, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Worried about explaining this to that doctor you just met?"

Victoria's anger turned to shock. How did he know?

"I thought you were joking about wanting a boyfriend yesterday, Victoria. Didn't think you were serious." Alexander suddenly turned cold, his voice stern.

"We're divorced. What's wrong with me having a boyfriend?" Victoria shot back after a moment.

Alexander sneered as he leaned in closer, his eyes full of hidden threats. "Nothing, that's fine."

Victoria felt a bit scared, glanced at him a few times, then lowered her head, holding the water cup. She tried to drink again but felt too awkward, so she got out of bed.

"Where are you going?"

"In my own house, I can go wherever I want," Victoria said, walking out of the bedroom in her slippers. Her heart was still racing, and she felt a bit scared. It felt like he had almost threatened her to death just now.

After she left, Alexander let out a small sigh of relief. He thought she was going to storm out in anger.

When Victoria went out, she saw Eve leaning against the wall, texting. Judging by Eve's expression, she guessed Eve was chatting with Frank.

"Morning, Eve," Victoria said, walking over with her water cup.

Eve quickly put her phone away and responded, "Morning, Mrs. Harrington."

"Mr. Harrington saw me pouring water for you and said he'd do it himself," Eve explained softly, noticing Victoria's bad mood.

Victoria looked at her, full of doubt, as it was completely different from what Alexander had said.

Later, Alexander came in holding Strawberry. Seeing Victoria frying eggs in the kitchen, he was startled, quickly lowered his head, and walked in holding Strawberry, saying, "Strawberry's hungry."

"She can wait a bit."

"I'll fry them," Alexander offered in a low voice.

Victoria's heart tightened, but she put down the spatula, wiped her hands, and went to hold Strawberry. Her waist was still uncomfortable, and it was a bit of a struggle to hold Strawberry.

Seeing her bad expression, Alexander didn't dare to let go, "Do you need..."

"Let go quickly, the eggs are burning."

Alexander had to let go.

Victoria held Strawberry and walked to the living room. He walked to where she had just stood, calmly picked up the spatula, flipped the eggs, and then looked towards the living room. With this distance between them, she finally didn't have to turn her back to him.

But as soon as he looked, Victoria turned sideways. She always felt like Alexander was watching her. She didn't want him to see her like this.

They were divorced, yet he still stared at her so intensely. Victoria felt he had zero respect for his ex-wife. When he was in a good mood, he'd go along with whatever she wanted, but when he was in a bad mood, he'd humiliate her as much as he pleased. So annoying!

During breakfast, Victoria said with a faint smile, "Janaye is free today, I..."

"No," Alexander cut her off before she could finish.

Victoria looked at him helplessly and after a long pause, asked, "Why?"

"Isn't she prone to miscarriages? Besides, what does it mean for her to follow me?"

"So you mean, it's okay for me to follow you?"

"One is someone else's wife, the other is..." Alexander paused.

Victoria's eyes urged him to continue.

"You're Strawberry's biological mother. Who do you think is more appropriate?"

Victoria didn't argue with him anymore. Anyway, her salary had been credited yesterday. Although she hadn't worked for many days, she was still quite happy to see the income. So, it was her last day at work anyway.

When leaving, Alexander saw her about to wear a coat and immediately brought a blue down jacket to her. He looked busy with his phone but handed her the down jacket, saying, "Wear this."

"Isn't it inappropriate?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Alexander still didn't look at her, just urged.

Victoria put on the down jacket. The down jacket was much warmer than the coat.

Seeing Victoria's cute outfit, Alexander thought that if her waist and back weren't injured, he would have preferred her to wear a coat. If she got cold, he would hold her to warm her up, but now...

As they were about to leave together, Victoria's phone rang. A message notification popped up; it was from Samuel Hall, the doctor Melissa had introduced to her yesterday.Samuel: [How about we meet at noon, twelve o'clock, somewhere near your workplace?]

Victoria: [Let's choose a place near your workplace instead.]

Victoria replied and immediately put away her phone. She couldn't let Alexander see it. She also couldn't choose a place near her workplace; if Alexander saw them together, he would definitely be furious.

When the light turned red, Samuel sent her a location. She glanced at it and quickly put her phone away, but...

"We've been to that place before. The food isn't very good," Alexander said, glancing at her phone.

"It's just that you're allergic to one of their peppers, not that the place is bad," Victoria said.

Alexander held the steering wheel, and after a few seconds, suddenly smiled.

Victoria felt a bit embarrassed and had to look seriously out the window. She didn't remember those things on purpose, but his allergic reactions were too exaggerated. He usually ate peppers, and the dishes at home had them, but he was never allergic.

"But I suggest you don't go."

"Why?" Victoria turned to look at him and asked.

"You won't have a future with him."

"What if he's my true love?" Victoria retorted.

Alexander glanced at her. That look seemed to say that he is her true love.

Alexander wanted to teach her a lesson, but later just coldly said, "Then be prepared to never see Strawberry again."

Victoria's anger flared. "I've said it before, if you have any conditions, just say them. As long as Strawberry stays with me, I'll agree to any condition."

"I want you to stay here." Alexander's car stopped, and he seriously reminded her.

"Of course, I stayed. Now I'm still your secretary. Can't we live strictly according to the agreement?"

Victoria didn't understand. They were divorced. Why didn't he want her to find another boyfriend? Did he not want her to have a good relationship? Or...

"You can only choose one, your child or your boyfriend," Alexander suddenly offered.

"That's not in the agreement."

"I'll change it as soon as I get to the office."

The car started again, heading towards the office building.

Victoria held back, but when the car stopped in the designated parking spot, she couldn't help but unhappily ask, "Mr. Harrington, you don't want to rekindle the old flame with your ex-wife, do you?"

"That's quite presumptuous of you," Alexander shot back immediately.
