Chapter 390 I'm Waiting for You to Fall into My Arms
Victoria looked up at him.
Alexander's long arm was already blocking the doorway, his bright eyes shinning like stars as he calmly met her gaze.
Victoria's heart trembled. ‘Can the little rabbit Alexander mentioned be her? No, no, no, it must be the rabbit in his dark room. Is he afraid she'll reveal it?’
“Don't worry. I'm not aware of anything," Victoria said. Alexander frowned, thinking, 'She doesn't know anything? What does self-exposure mean?' He quickly smiled and glanced at her again, speaking softly,
"It seems that we, Mrs. Harrington, have stumbled upon some remarkable secrets." Victoria felt a shiver run down her spine at his calm tone, which seemed to threaten her.
"No, I haven't discovered anything," Victoria insisted. "Oh? Why does Mrs. Harrington, who doesn't usually come this way, suddenly rush over here? And why try to slip away when she sees me?" Alexander questioned.
Victoria took a deep breath, then bit her lip and gave him a small smile. "In the divorce agreement, you stated that this house is a gift to me, so I'd like to come and inspect my assets. After that, I intend to return to my small apartment to sleep." She knew her smile felt forced.
Alexander also smiled, just more naturally than her.
In his sharp gaze, Victoria became increasingly unsure, and her smile became more and more forced, even disappearing later.
And he just stared at her straight, not saying a word, as if he could see through everything.
"Alright, I should go." Feeling guilty, Victoria lowered her head and tried to slip out from under his arm.
But Alexander's long legs blocked her way.
What was this?
Victoria felt angry. Was he bullying her just because she was tall and had long arms and legs?
She looked up at him. "Do you, Alexander, have something else to do?"
She thought she needed to stay calm and not get angry.
Alexander still smiled. "Alexander is fine, but as your man, I have a few questions to ask."
As he approached her, Victoria instinctively moved away.
"What is it?" Her heart raced with anxiety, fearing he would discover the secret in her pocket. Feeling more and more insecure, she hesitated.
"Since this is your property, you should stay here tonight," the man said in his usual manner as Victoria gazed up at him.
Did she stay here?
He must want to be with her in bed again. She had checked online today what the sticky stuff she found in the morning was, not daring not lie in bed with him.
Alexander continued to gaze at her.
"Don't let your mind wander. What do you mean? Your husband is right here. You can do anything with him. No need for imagination."
His voice softened, but Victoria felt a flutter in her heart. What was he trying to say? What did he think she was thinking?
"I have to leave," Victoria tried to slip away.
"Then go ahead," Alexander didn't push, but he remained in that position. Victoria's heart raced as she looked at the space under his arm and on his leg. She could try to slip out, but how would she manage it? She wasn't an acrobat. Could she just step on him to get out? She didn't dare to get close to him at that moment. "You have work tomorrow, staying up late will affect your performance."
After pondering for a moment, Victoria came up with a reason to ask him to let her go. Upon hearing this, Alexander chuckled. "Come here quickly, I'm waiting for you.
