Chapter 450 The Man Strongly Suppresses Jealousy
Early morning. On the quiet little bed, a message came in on Victoria's phone again.
Alexander: [At least let me know when you get home safely so I don't worry?]
Victoria: [I am home already.]
Alexander: [Good night.]
Alexander wanted to say more, but he feared it would annoy her, so he replied with just two words. After several minutes with no response from Victoria, he sent another message: [It's polite to say goodnight so the other person isn't left waiting.]
Victoria read it, then turned off her phone and rolled over. She habitually hugged the pillow next to her. For some reason, she buried her face in it, convinced she could still smell his scent. Her bed held his fragrance. Clutching the pillow tightly, she fell asleep.
The next day at noon, the sun was quite intense.
Edward, Alexander, and Benjamin went to eat together.
"Hey, look at a couple," Edward said.
"Isn't that Alexander's wife?" Benjamin glanced over and quickly frowned.
Alexander puzzled, turned to look, wondering how Victoria could be at this restaurant. It was far from their workplace, and she didn't like spicy food. But when turning, Alexander not only saw Victoria.
Edward and Benjamin saw Alexander squint his eyes and immediately asked, "What's going on?"
Alexander didn't say anything, just stared outside. Victoria was with Jason and others, eating at a trendy restaurant.
Jason placed a sun hat on her head. Victoria instinctively adjusted it, looking up to see Jason from under the brim.
"Your skin is so delicate. Don't get sunburned," Jason said.
"Thanks," Victoria replied.
Jason didn't say anything else, and the group of five or six people went into the trendy restaurant. A few people were even going to eat super spicy dishes.
"Welcome," the server greeted at the door as the group walked in.
They had reserved a table and were led inside directly. From his seat, Alexander could see the group walking in, and Victoria saw him too. Not just Victoria, but Jason and her other friends noticed him as well.
Alexander felt annoyed. Just last night, Victoria had told him to keep his distance, but now she was out with another man. And that man had seen her body. Alexander stared at her.
Victoria stopped, suddenly unsure how to walk. She didn't know the reason why she felt inexplicably guilty when facing him, even though she hadn't done anything wrong.
"How about we join them?" Edward suggested.
"No, we poor graduates have terrible table manners. We booked a spot a long time ago," Jason replied, holding Victoria's shoulder. "Come with us."
"Alright," Victoria agreed, but her heart inexplicably started to race.
However, once they started eating, no one had time for idle thoughts.
All they could think of was so spicy, wanting to challenge themselves further.
Someone's mouth turned red first, looking swollen.
Some people had tears streaming down, snot running down their noses.
Although Victoria's nose was running, too, she had to admit that she was really enjoying herself.
It felt like all the gloom in her heart was being sweated out with this meal.
"It looks like you won't be going back anytime soon," Jason chatted with her, handing her an ice-cold beer.
As she was about to take it, an ice-cold Coke appeared in front of her.
"You have a meeting this afternoon. No alcohol," Alexander said, barely hiding his jealousy.
