Chapter 905 A Night of Passion Between Adults

"Hey, stop right there."

Adrian didn't intend to alert him, but the stalker noticed him, so he had to get out of the car and give chase.

Half an hour later, Adrian was sitting in Victoria's living room, holding a cup of coffee, and asked in confusion, "So you guys knew all along?"

"This person has been watching us for a while, and we've been surveilling him," Victoria replied.

Hearing this, Adrian felt relieved but then frustrated, "Who would want to monitor you all the time? Isn't it someone from Alexander's side?"

"Alexander's people would watch me right in front of my eyes; they wouldn't need to be so far away," Victoria explained with a helpless smile.

Adrian instinctively looked at Eve, who was sitting nearby. Eve immediately straightened her back, trying to appear as if she wasn't the one doing the surveillance, but she looked a bit guilty.

"But why are you here?" Victoria asked.

"I..." Adrian suddenly looked like a child who had done something wrong, staring at Victoria but unable to speak.

He had a wealth of thoughts to express, yet when the moment arrived, the words eluded him.

Victoria glanced at Eve, who immediately got up and left. Then she mentioned, "I heard Ava is pregnant."

Adrian was shocked and trembled with fear. After thinking for a moment, he asked with a hint of frustration, "Did Ava tell you?"

"No, the last time you guys had dinner, it was at Alexander's hotel. The waiter there overheard your conversation and informed Alexander. I was with Alexander at the time."

Adrian was frustrated; these waiters were prone to indiscretion.

"If Ava is interested in you, it's considered your good fortune," Victoria remarked softly.

But no matter how gentle her tone was, it made Adrian unhappy.

"She must have bribed you, didn't she? As soon as she returned, rumors spread in the city about an artist having a child with his manager. Ava is very calculating," Adrian asserted, feeling a long-buried anger rising within him.

Hearing Victoria speak up for Ava made him feel even more humiliated.

"If Ava didn't have some calculating skills, how could you have the fame you have today?" Victoria retorted.

"Don't speak for Ava," Adrian said, feeling even more stifled.

"I'm not speaking for Ava. If it weren't for her hard work managing your relationships and career affairs, you might be an unknown small-time actor," Victoria explained.

Adrian fell silent.

"You remember all of this, don't you?" Victoria knew Adrian wasn't an ungrateful person. Over the years, Ava and Ivan had done so much for Adrian, and he surely remembered it all.

"But she knew how I felt..." Adrian was angry. That night, he was so drunk, calling out Victoria's name, yet Ava had made love with him.

Ava said she didn't care, that it was just a night of passion between adults.

If Ava didn't care, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant, and rumors wouldn't have spread as soon as she returned to the country.

Others might not get her, but he understood her best, just as Victoria said.

"Aren't you going back to the country?" Victoria asked Adrian.

"Why would I go back?" Adrian retorted.

He returned because of Melissa's suggestion and his decision.

When Victoria fell from the plane, his heart was lifeless.

He didn't dare get involved between her and Alexander anymore, fearing that, as Melissa said, he might end up making a mess for her.

Although he was tempted when Victoria first returned, Melissa reminded him not to act on impulse, so he hadn't dared to see her.

Unexpectedly, they met, and it was at her home.

Seeing Victoria's haggard appearance, Adrian couldn't help but ask her sadly, "Do you blame me?"

"Blame you for what?"

"If I hadn't encouraged you to leave, Alexander wouldn't have hurt you so deeply, and you wouldn't have almost lost your life."

"Even without you, I would have wanted to try leaving," Victoria remarked.

"But I feel like a complete jerk. Without me, you two might be together," Adrian expressed.

Victoria laughed but didn't say anything more.

If everyone had this kind of awareness, maybe there wouldn't be so many broken families in the world.

In reality, everything is both straightforward and intricate.

It all depends on how people think.

Adulterers often reveal the hypocrisy between couples.

After leaving Victoria's place, Adrian decided to return to Ankenra City, not for anything else but for Ava.

He wanted to see what Ava was planning.

Ava kept saying she wouldn't interfere with his freedom and that he didn't need to worry, yet she spread the news that she was pregnant with his child.

He wasn't like those soft-hearted artists who would marry a woman they had no feelings for.

In his view, Ava just wanted to use the child to trap him, but that was pure wishful thinking.

The Harrington Mansion.

When Alexander returned home in the evening, he heard Eloise laughing as soon as he walked in. Eloise was saying, "My dear baby, you're so naughty now."

Hearing her words, Alexander instinctively quickened his pace.

But when he entered, he saw that the person making Eloise laugh was someone else.

Of course, it couldn't be Victoria.

"Alexander," Adrian greeted Alexander politely, despite feeling awkward.

Alexander sat down nearby, "When did you get back?"

"I just got off the plane and came straight here. I missed Grandpa and Grandma," Adrian replied.

"Got it," Alexander said, believing Adrian's explanation.

In Alexander's mind, Adrian was someone who craved family affection.

"I went to see Victoria. Someone is watching her," Adrian suddenly mentioned.

The whole family became serious upon hearing that.

"You saw it?" Alexander asked with anxiety.

"Yes, I saw someone spying on her from the wall," Adrian replied.

Alexander's brow furrowed.

"What's going on? Is Victoria in danger again?" Eloise asked, becoming very nervous upon hearing Adrian's account.

"Grandma, don't worry. Victoria said they were aware of being watched and had people surveilling the person," Adrian explained.

"Is that so? What's going on? Don't you know? Call Victoria and ask," Eloise urged, slightly relieved but worried about a repeat of the previous kidnapping incident.

"Don't worry, I'll call right now," Alexander said, narrowing his eyes, wondering why Frank hadn't reported this to him.

"Call right here; we all want to know," Arabella urged softly.

Seeing everyone so anxious, Alexander took out his phone and made the call right there, but he didn't call Victoria; he called Frank.

Everyone was momentarily surprised to hear Frank's voice but then fell silent, listening intently.

"Are you being watched?" Alexander asked calmly.

"Yes," Frank responded soon.
