Chapter 919 He Said He Was Her Husband

After Adrian went back to his room to rest, Eloise remarked, "It seems like Adrian doesn't like Ava."

"So, are we going to force him like this?"

Eloise sighed. She was worried that if they pushed them to get married, they might end up like Alexander and Victoria.

"Honey, do my buttons look neat?"

"Don't call me that."

Victoria finally endured until Alexander was discharged from the hospital. After handling all the paperwork, she returned to the bedside and saw his misbuttoned shirt. She sighed helplessly and reached out to help him rebutton it.

"What color is the shirt I'm wearing today? Does it look good?"

He asked her in a good mood, habitually pulling her between his knees.

Victoria felt a bit uncomfortable with the sudden intimate posture, but lowered her head and softly reminded, "Don't move."

"I'm afraid you can't see it clearly either. What color is it? Is it the birthday gift you gave me?"

"Yes."

Victoria told herself to stay calm.

Once he was discharged, she would leave far away.

Who knew that just as she bent down to help Alexander button the lower buttons, he pressed her onto his lap and softly remarked, "This makes it easier to do it."

Victoria felt he was being too much, but she was unwilling to argue. Buttoning a shirt didn't take long.

Unexpectedly, her hand was suddenly grabbed. Alexander looked very worried. "Why are your hands so cold?"

"Alexander, don't go too far. Let go."

"I'll warm your hands before I let go."

He said it seriously, but in reality, the moment he touched her fingers, he could hardly control his desire.

These past few days, he had been restraining himself in bed, almost suffocating. Now that they were home, he didn't plan to hold back anymore.

Just as he was about to place her hand on his chest, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Both of them instinctively looked towards the door.

Victoria immediately tried to get off his lap, but Alexander held her down firmly.

Daisy opened the door and, seeing the scene, softly expressed, "Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, I'm here to congratulate Mr. Harrington on his recovery and discharge."

Victoria didn't say anything, but Alexander did, "You've done, now you can leave. Please close the door behind you. thank you."

"I will, but I have one more thing to say. Regarding the car accident, I heard that Mr. Harrington has found out that someone tampered with my car. Thank you, Mr. Harrington, for uncovering the truth."

Daisy, sitting in a wheelchair, had flowers on her lap.

She entered and placed the flowers on the table in front of the sofa.

The once quiet guest room suddenly felt cold, and Alexander's expression darkened. Victoria looked at Alexander and softly asked, "Should I go find Frank to get the luggage?"

"Get out." He said coldly.

Daisy turned to look at Alexander sitting on the edge of the bed, thinking, 'Is he finally going to tell Victoria to leave?'

'It seemed that in serious matters, he didn't care about Victoria at all.'

But unexpectedly, Alexander quickly turned to look at Daisy, "I meant you, get out."

Daisy looked at him in disbelief.

So he was telling her to get out, wasn't he?

Alexander tightly held Victoria's hand. Victoria felt her hand being squeezed painfully, but sat silently.

"I'll leave, but I have something to tell you. I don't know if the elders of the Harrington family have mentioned it to you, but Isabella personally admitted to me that she is applying for early release. If she gets out, Mrs. Harrington might be in danger. Please, take care."

Daisy spoke seriously, looking genuinely concerned for Victoria.

Victoria's heart skipped a beat.

"Ms. Bryant, please leave."

Frank had been standing at the door for a while. Seeing Alexander's expression, he immediately walked in to remind Daisy to leave.

Daisy had no choice but to leave, but she was convinced that Victoria must be feeling upset.

If Victoria were upset, she would be happy.

After she left, a sense of satisfaction crossed her face. But when she met Eve's fierec gaze, she immediately became nervousagain.

Daisy quickly left, and Frank also took the luggage out, leaving only the two of them in the ward.

Eve softly asked after Frank closed the door, "Is everything okay inside?"

"Hard to say, it's very quiet." Frank reminded.

Victoria just gently asked, "All the buttons are done. Can you leave now?"

She didn't want to stay in this hospital for another minute.

"Daisy was telling the truth." He said seriously.

Victoria's heart tightened, and she looked up at Alexander.

She didn't probe because if he wanted to talk, he would tell her.

A few days ago, he had found out the real cause of the car accident, and she knew it.

At that time, she overheard him talking to Frank, but he told Frank to leave without mentioning a word to her.

Was he planning to talk today?

"You know I have a bad habit of hoping you'll ask me more questions. I was wishful thinking. I'm at a loss."

Alexander smiled, his eyes still unfocused.

Victoria lowered her eyes and softly replied, "Sorry for making you feel at a loss."

"I'm older than you and shouldn't push you so hard, but I'm your husband. We should be equals. Why can't you ask me?"

His deep voice was gentle.

He had been thinking about this question, believing they should be equals.

Victoria's heart gradually ached.

From the moment she married him, she lost the ability to seek equality.

Had Alexander forgotten?

He was forced to marry her, and he left right after the wedding.

His disdain was so obvious.

After he returned, there was a period when she thought they were in love and could be equals, but reality hit her hard, waking her up immediately.

They could never be equals in this lifetime.

Otherwise, why would Alexander take a knife for Isabella?

Otherwise, why would Alexander order his men to pin her to the ground?

Otherwise, why would Alexander tell his subordinates that they could use force on her if necessary?

Not only could she not be equal to him, but she had also been reduced to nothing.

"That day, you heard everything. Why didn't you ask me?"

"If you wanted to talk, you would have told me."

Victoria said as she tried to get up, but Alexander held her in his arms. He looked up at her and expressed, "I've been waiting for you to ask, Tori. If you had asked me even once, I would have told you everything in detail."

"If I don't ask, you'll never tell me?"

"Yes."

"Then don't tell me. It doesn't matter anymore."

"How can it not matter?"

"Let go of me."

They both spoke at the same time, both a bit annoyed with each other.

Alexander held her tightly, suppressing yet firm, "I had planned to keep this stalemate with you. I thought one day you would give in, but Tori, I can't wait any longer."
