Chapter 543 Forcing Her to Admit Her Identity
Victoria's heart pounded as she stared at Alexander.
"Recently, the authorities might contact you to confirm your identity. Have you decided if you're Felicity or Victoria?" Alexander asked.
Victoria was so nervous that she could hardly breathe. If they found her, wouldn't it be easy to uncover her true identity?
"Don't stress, it's just a name. You can say Felicity is your stage name," Alexander said, his sharp eyes 'kindly' reminding her. "Of course, you can deny being Victoria, but..."
His gaze grew darker and colder.
Victoria had a bad feeling. "But what?"
"If you're Felicity, you can't pick up Victoria's parents' ashes," Alexander said coldly, placing several documents in her hand before striding out.
Victoria leaned against the wall, her strength ebbing while tears blurred her vision. She thought these must be her documents. Alexander had always hidden them, and now he finally gave them to her after she started living under another identity.
A sharp pain shot through her chest as if something was about to burst out. Was he forcing her to admit she was Victoria this way? She had once loved him so much.
That day, Edward and Olivia returned from their honeymoon, and Olivia went to the film set to have lunch with Victoria.
In the restaurant, Olivia shared what she knew. "I don't know what happened that night, but after your car accident, emergency personnel came to our floor too."
Victoria, uninterested in talking about Alexander, asked about Olivia's baby. "How's the baby in your belly?"
Olivia was momentarily stunned but then smiled sweetly. "He's quite well-behaved. I haven't felt too uncomfortable."
"Maybe he's the quiet type."
"Who knows? They say Edward was very well-behaved in his mother's belly, but look at him during school, always attracting attention," Olivia said.
"I think Mr. Sinclair just pretends to be a playboy. He's actually very devoted," Victoria said.
"What about you and Alexander? Could he be pretending to be indifferent?"
"Don't compare us to you guys. We don't deserve it," Victoria smiled awkwardly.
Seeing her downcast look, Olivia couldn't help but continue, "Listen to me, don't change the subject. Victoria, I really think there's a misunderstanding between you two. Why did you fake your death that night? What happened to Alexander?"
"Can I be the godmother of your baby?" Victoria suddenly thought she might never have the chance to be a mother. She wasn't interested in men now and thought having a baby to love would be nice.
"Sure, but don't change the subject," Olivia quickly said.
"Alright." Victoria smiled and fell silent again.
Olivia asked, "What exactly happened that night? You said you went upstairs, then the power went out, and soon after, that happened."
Victoria smiled. "I suddenly realized I didn't love Alexander."
When the staff brought their food, they paused their conversation.
Olivia kept staring at her, and as soon as the staff left, she continued, "You know whether you love him or not, and we all know too. You..."
Victoria asked, "Do you have trouble eating this?"
The food was very light.
"I'm getting angry." Olivia was always sidetracked.
Victoria smiled helplessly and finally said, "What's past is past. But right now, there's a troublesome matter."
Hearing she had trouble, Olivia temporarily gave up asking and inquired, "What is it?"
"Alexander wants to take the east side..." Victoria lowered her head, feeling helpless and inferior as she spoke.
Upon hearing that, Olivia shouted, "How could Alexander do that? It's too much."
"Do you have any solutions?" Victoria asked.
"No," Olivia quickly replied, disappointed.
Victoria sighed. "I just want a simple life. I don't understand."
"Don't understand what?"
"He doesn't love me, so why doesn't he just cut off our relationship?"
"Just as I don't believe you don't love him, I don't believe he doesn't love you," Olivia said firmly.
Victoria understood Olivia was unaware of what she had witnessed; had Olivia been informed, she would not have held such beliefs. However, the matter concerned Alexander's privacy, and Victoria maintained confidentiality. She just wanted Alexander to stop seeking her and cease his threats.
Even if an amicable breakup was hard, did their relationship have to end in complete chaos and destruction?
Victoria hated him when angry, but knew she didn't upon calming down; Alexander simply pursued his own desires without assuming responsibility for her.
However, did spouses have to be responsible for each other? Some people need that, but Victoria didn't. She just wanted no more entanglements in the future.
They ended their relationship without saying anything. Alexander didn't even tell her he never intended to be with her forever. He wanted a free life, casually inviting other women into their bed. He never mentioned a word to Victoria.
He didn't love her, yet he wanted her to use that name again, letting the world know she was still alive, and then what? He was already remarried. What was the point of her suddenly using the name Victoria again?
After lunch, Edward came to pick her up. As soon as he got out of the car, he saw Olivia and Victoria through the small window and couldn't help but look at Alexander in the driver's seat. "Aren't you coming in?"
"No," Alexander replied indifferently and immediately drove away.
Edward sighed and went inside alone.
"Hey, Victoria, long time no see," Edward greeted them.
Seeing Edward, Victoria politely said, "Mr. Sinclair."
"Don't call me Mr. Sinclair. Just call me Edward like everyone else," Edward said, feeling it was too formal.
Olivia asked curiously, "Why are you here?"
Olivia had driven herself.
"I wanted to pick you up. Alexander didn't drink, so he drove me, but he left immediately."
Edward pulled out a chair next to her and sat down, then looked at Victoria across the table. "Is it because of Isabella?"
He suddenly asked seriously, and Victoria and Olivia both looked at him, puzzled.
Edward mentioned seriously, "I just found out that Isabella said she was going to get something that night, and then you and Alexander separated."
Victoria remained composed, but when she lowered her head, a bitter smile spread uncontrollably across her lips.
"Was it really because of Isabella? That night you said you went upstairs, and then..." Olivia couldn't believe it. Could Alexander and Isabella have been doing something intimate?
"How could he do that?" Olivia immediately got agitated and asked Edward, "What happened?"
Edward didn't understand Olivia's thought process.
Edward continued seriously, "I don't know much. Alexander won't talk about it, and we don't dare ask. But after that night, Isabella suddenly went to Lorea and hasn't returned since."
Olivia was confused. "There were only a few of us in the building. The person the medical staff took out that night, was it Isabella? What happened to her? Why did she go to Lorea?"
Victoria didn't know either, but her phone rang. Seeing it was Dennis, she excused herself.
As she left the restaurant and walked a few steps, she suddenly turned around. She recognized the black car; she had just ridden in it recently.
