Chapter 591 Ms. Kensington, What Do You Want Now?

"I don't care," Alexander chuckled, kissing her with increasing focus and tenderness.

Victoria was nearly breathless from the intensity of their kiss, but a sliver of rationality in her mind made her struggle. She whispered, "Did you ever really care about me?"

Alexander was unwilling to stop until tears streaked down her cheeks until she looked at his short hair with reddened eyes and asked with a sob, "You never really cared about me, did you? The only person you truly care about is Isabella, isn't it?"

At this moment, she looked utterly disappointed and resigned.

Alexander slowly stopped, taking a long time to move his gaze from her sexy collarbone to her eyes.

Victoria couldn't help but give a bitter smile and whispered, "Otherwise, why does she keep hurting me without any consequences? And I, I'm just someone you keep in bed."

Alexander's expression gradually darkened.

Victoria continued, "Because the one you truly love is her. From the beginning, you wanted me because she slept with your good friend and even got pregnant. She damaged your pride, so you used me to get back at her. If you want to have sex, I can go with it, but can you let me go afterward? Please."

Victoria's eyes reddened, and she closed her lips in sadness, saying no more.

It seemed like she would let him do whatever he wanted without resistance.

Looking at in frustration Alexander asked, "Do you really have to think of me this way?"

Victoria said, "If you cared about me, you wouldn't let her hurt me without doing anything to her."

"I didn't do anything?"

"Did you?"

"She will be punished. I promise."

"I don't want your promise." Victoria turned her face away, quietly waiting.

It seemed like she would let him do whatever he wanted.

Alexander left her in frustration, but before leaving, he couldn't help but say coldly, "I am a man."

Then, with a loud bang, the door slammed shut, and he walked away with his long strides.

Victoria lay there in silence, gradually calming down.

Of course, she knew he was a man.

It was still raining outside. Victoria turned over, found the remote, and opened the curtains.

——

"Mrs. Harrington? Mrs. Harrington?"

Early the next morning, Victoria was awakened by a soft voice.

She opened her eyes to see Erica, the housekeeper, standing by her bed.

"Mrs. Harrington, you're finally awake. Ms. Baker wants you to call her back immediately." Erica handed her the phone.

Victoria wearily sat up in bed and found Olivia's number on her phone.

Olivia asked, "Alexander wasn't with you?"

Victoria replied, "No."

"He was still here when we left. Why wasn't he here in the middle of the night?"

"What do you mean?" Victoria was confused.

Olivia continued, "The internet is full of news about him spending the night with Isabella at the Harrington Group hotel last night. You still ask me what I mean? I should be asking you. Your wedding is in a few days. What are you doing?"

Victoria finally understood but was momentarily stunned.

Olivia said, "Victoria, how could you let him meet Isabella in the middle of the night? Are you crazy?"

"I told you, the bride doesn't have to be me."

Victoria just smiled and hung up, weakly putting it down.

"Mrs. Harrington, is something wrong?" Erica asked worriedly.

Victoria said, "Erica, can you call me Victoria from now on?"

Erica was stunned. But Victoria smiled so purely and sincerely, making her unable to refuse.

——

During breakfast, Eloise suddenly arrived and commanded Victoria, "Call Alexander right now and tell him I want him back immediately. If he doesn't come back, he won't have me as his grandmother anymore."

Victoria called him, but he didn't answer.

Eloise sat next to her and asked, "What? He didn't answer?"

"Grandma, he might be in a meeting."

"Use my phone." Eloise handed her phone to Victoria.

Victoria looked at Eloise's determined expression, thought for a moment, and then sat next to her, gently coaxing, "Grandma, the news is just rumors. Maybe they just happened to be there together. It's a coincidence."

"Then he should have those people delete the news immediately," Eloise said.

"Deleting it would make us look guilty," Victoria gently explained.

Eloise listened and then looked at Victoria. "But you're being wronged. They're saying such things about you."

"Caring about what others say is exhausting. I don't care. Besides, actually... Grandma, can I not, not have the wedding?" Victoria asked.

She thought long and hard and decided to talk to Eloise about it.

She really didn't have the courage.

"W-what?" Eloise's expression changed suddenly in shock; she was apparently uneasy.

Victoria tried to explain, "I know you want to keep me in the Harrington family to take care of me, but actually..."

Eloise interrupted her, "I feel so dizzy, Victoria. I think my blood pressure is high. Quick, get me my blood pressure medicine."

"Grandma, take some medicine."

Victoria was stunned for a couple of seconds, then quickly went to find her bag and took out the blood pressure medicine.

Eloise quickly took two pills, and Victoria brought her some water.

Eloise took the medicine and rested for a while before weakly murmuring, "Victoria, my biggest wish for the rest of my life is to see you in a wedding dress and then have a few beautiful great-grandchildren."

"Grandma." Victoria suddenly didn't dare to say anything more.

"Call the doctor for me. I might need his help." Eloise leaned on the sofa, clutching her chest, her voice growing weaker.

Victoria called the doctor, and half an hour later, Eloise's primary physician, Sanjay Patel, arrived.

Eloise had been settled in the best room on the first floor. Sanjay performed several routine checks and then asked, "Were you worried again?"

"You know how troublesome my little rascal can be," Eloise said.

Sanjay smiled and then turned to Victoria, "Don't worry too much. It's common at her age."

Victoria smiled and nodded in thanks.

But as she escorted Sanjay out, he glanced inside and then quietly said to her, "Eloise's health has been declining over the past two years. You should be prepared."

"What?" Victoria was stunned and looked at him in disbelief.

"Eloise didn't want me to say anything, but her health..." Sanjay shook his head heavily and then left.

Victoria followed him for a few steps, and as she reached the door, a gust of wind blew in. She couldn't help but hold onto the door frame, standing there motionless.

Before lunch, she called Alexander again. She did this on her own initiative this time.

Alexander answered quickly but coldly, "Ms. Kensington, what do you want now?"
