Chapter 661 His Humble Plea

"Ms. Montgomery, I've been in this game for years. Got more blood on my hands than you could ever dream of," Frank leaned in close to Isabella's ear and whispered.

Isabella shot him a defiant glare.

He stayed cool and kept going, "Don't believe me? Go ahead, try me."

With a cold, robotic vibe, Isabella held her breath and stepped back. "No need to threaten me. I never planned to off her. Just think she's not good enough for Alexander."

Isabella bounced, not even daring to ask him to cover the car damage.

Frank just stood there, chill as ever, even after she left.

Janaye couldn't help but step up, "Frank, you're so cool."

"Really?" Frank looked all serious.

"Yeah." Janaye nodded like crazy.

Frank grinned and then turned to Victoria, "Mrs. Harrington, you good?"

"I've been through a lot too, but Frank, you're really cool," Victoria said calmly, but couldn't help but genuinely compliment him.

Frank suddenly felt a bit shy, awkwardly scratching the back of his head, "Actually, I'm not that cool."

Janaye and Victoria looked at his shy demeanor and suddenly found him both cool and adorably cute.

Later, they hit up a restaurant and invited Frank to join them for a bite. Janaye couldn't help but get nosy about Frank's past. Frank wasn't keen on talking at first, but seeing Victoria's curious look, he decided to spill a bit.

"Actually, when Mr. Harrington found me, I was in desperate need of cash, and..." Frank glanced at Victoria, then smiled as the waiter brought the food, so he switched gears, "Let's eat first."

Halfway through the meal, Victoria looked at Frank, "Did Isabella hit you up too?"

"Yeah, she offered me big bucks to be her bodyguard, as long as I ditched you." Frank thought for a moment and, recognizing her smarts, decided to be straight up.

"Then why didn't you take it? You said you needed the money."

"Mr. Harrington already sorted the money thing," Frank said, stuffing a piece of fried chicken into his mouth, finding it especially tasty, and told the two curious women, "Let's eat first. I'll tell you my story later."

They kept eating, and Janaye noticed that Victoria ate very little and had a sweet tooth. She couldn't help but ask, "You love sweets so much, is it 'cause your baby loves sweets too?"

"You're right," Victoria responded after finishing her meal.

"I wonder if you're having a boy or a girl. I prefer girls. My mom always calls me her sweetheart," Janaye said, looking like a spoiled little princess, super happy.

Hearing the word "mom," Victoria felt a bit sad, but thinking about becoming a mom herself soon, she immediately felt happy again.

"Then my daughter will be my sweetheart too."

"Mine too," Janaye immediately echoed Victoria.

They both liked girls, probably 'cause they were girls themselves.

Frank watched them so happy, not knowing why, especially Victoria. How could she still smile?

Earlier outside, Frank saw how fast Isabella was driving and realized she had murderous intent.

Could it be true, as she said, because of her experience?

After lunch, Janaye headed back to the office building. Alexander and Shoure had just returned and immediately asked, "Where's Victoria?"

"She said she was tired and went back to rest," Janaye quickly replied.

Alexander listened and immediately pulled out his phone to call her. There was a rest area in the office, and he had planned to take a nap together. He didn't expect her to leave.

"Mr. Harrington, we ran into Isabella downstairs. She almost hit Mrs. Harrington with her car," Janaye suddenly blurted out.

Alexander's hand froze mid-dial, and he turned to look at her, "Say that again?"

Janaye saw his icy expression but continued, "You can call Frank if you don't believe me. Luckily, Frank was following us and called to warn us."

Alexander didn't immediately call. After returning to the office, he dialed Frank, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Frank explained everything, and Alexander immediately chewed him out.

"This..." Frank hesitated to explain.

"Frank, if anything happens to my wife, you know..."

"Are you threatening him again?" Victoria suddenly chimed in.

"No."

Hearing that soft voice, Alexander immediately cooled down.

"I heard everything. I'm not home yet, and you're already calling Frank to blame him. He saved me," Victoria complained.

"I'm not blaming him. Why did you leave suddenly?" Alexander asked.

Hearing Victoria's voice, he couldn't explain too much and just wanted her by his side.

"I went to our new house to get some sleep. Jenny bought fresh fruit for me to fill my stomach. The food outside is really bad. I don't like it at all now. What should I do, Alexander?" she couldn't help but act spoiled.

Alexander listened, finally smiling.

"From now on, we can have the chef make food for you wherever we go."

Alexander thought these were small matters.

"What if I go somewhere far away?" Victoria looked up, smiling foolishly, guessing Alexander's answer.

"Then we'll take the chef with us."

"That's a good idea. Let's settle on that for now. Don't call Frank to blame him again, or our baby and I won't let you come home." Victoria felt satisfied because Alexander said "we."

It meant that even when she was far away, he would be there too.

"Okay, then..." Before Alexander could finish, Victoria hung up.

Alexander looked at the phone screen and sighed helplessly. He really couldn't handle Victoria. But why did her words make him so happy?

The words "our baby and I" had a strong impact.

As for Isabella, thinking of her made Alexander's expression cold again.

Isabella must be crazy.

Otherwise, why would she still be entangled with them?

Frank later sent Victoria back and called Alexander to report everything in detail.

After hearing it, Alexander didn't blame him anymore. How could Alexander not understand the situation?

Frank was a responsible person. Alexander had researched Frank's character before hiring him.

Alexander just wanted Victoria to be safe.

He couldn't let anything happen to her again.

She already lacked a sense of security. If something happened again, he feared...

He remembered her inexplicable tears last night and her saying not to make promises. His throat suddenly tightened.

Then, he humbly whispered, "Frank, take good care of her, please."
