Chapter 85 Singles Social Event

Victoria looked at him but didn't dare speak again.
Seeing her finally quiet down, Alexander turned and headed back to the office. Jasmine, on the other hand, was completely stunned.
"Mrs. Harrington?" Jasmine whispered.
Victoria just sat down slowly and glanced at the bag, as her heart hung in the air.
"I saw this bag online recently; they said it's worth over a hundred thousand. It’s only available to super VIP members," Jasmine said.
"Mm," Victoria replied softly, feeling her heart ache, only able to respond to her reluctantly.
"Mr. Harrington is really kind to Miss Montgomery. He even calls her Mrs. Harrington. Are they about to announce their wedding date soon? Then..." Jasmine looked at Victoria's despondent expression, wondering if she had deep feelings for Mr. Harrington.
"Don't be sad, Vicky. We have plenty of good men in our company. There's a singles social event tonight; I'll take you there," Jasmine offered.
"Okay," Victoria replied softly.
In reality, she hadn’t heard anything she said at all.
"Alright, it's settled then. I'll add you to the group," Jasmine said, feeling relieved to have company; she no longer felt lonely.
They arrived together, and suddenly, Jasmine felt more confident.
Victoria found the bag particularly annoying, so she picked it up, and then placed it heavily to the side.
Jasmine's heart skipped a beat. "Vicky, be careful. We can't afford to break it."
"Don’t worry about it," Victoria said softly, continuing to work.
She had never felt more confused.
What was going on with him today?
First, he held hands with her in public and called her his wife.
Now, he was buying her an expensive bag?
What about her bag?
He knew she left her bag in the restaurant, so why didn't he bring it back for her?
Shortly after, Victoria went to the restroom and called the restaurant, "Hello, I dined at your restaurant today and left my bag there. Is it still there?"
"Is this Victoria? Your bag seems to have been taken by your boss," the staff spoke cautiously.
"I see, thank you," Victoria calmly hung up the phone, but she wasn't okay after that.
Did he find it unworthy and throw it away?
--
After work, Jasmine changed into a pretty skirt and ran to Victoria, "Vicky, let's go."
"Hmm?"
"Have you forgotten? You promised to attend the singles social event," Jasmine said, looking at her with pleading eyes.
Victoria hesitated, but when Alexander came out from his office, she immediately grabbed Jasmine's hand, "Let's go."
"Victoria."
Before they could take a few steps, a deep voice from behind stopped them.
"You forgot your bag."
Victoria didn't dare turn around, but Jasmine curiously did and was left stunned.
Jasmine thought the bag in Alexander’s hand was meant for Isabella. Then she saw Victoria not moving at all.
"Mr. Harrington, is this bag for Miss Montgomery? Should we deliver it to her later?" Jasmine hurried back and asked.
"I said it's Victoria's bag," Alexander replied.
Jasmine's hand, holding the bag, froze.
This wasn't just worth one hundred thousand; it could be worth more than five hundred thousand.
Alexander approached her with long strides, "Want me to take you guys back home in my car?"
"Mr. Harrington, we're going to the singles social event; Vicky will be home later," Jasmine said, assuming he was just being kind because Victoria had mentioned they lived close by.
But... capitalists like him weren't usually kind.
Ignoring Jasmine, Alexander just looked at Victoria and suddenly chuckled, "What are you up to?"
