Chapter 840 Finally at Ease
Alexander looked down at Victoria and suddenly laughed.
When Victoria woke up the next day, she felt like her bones had been taken apart.
She opened her eyes and saw unfamiliar light fixtures; even the air and smell in the room were unfamiliar.
So, where exactly was she?
Subtle noises drifted in from outside, yet she couldn't discern their source.
Her head was throbbing as she turned slightly, revealing the kiss marks on her neck, but all she felt was pain.
Not just in one place but in many.
She couldn't speak; it felt like her throat was swollen.
She just lay there, dazed.
"Awake."
Then, a man's voice finally reached her ears.
It was a familiar voice.
For some reason, her heart felt a bit more at ease.
But when he walked over and stood in front of her, her eyelashes fluttered slightly before she weakly looked at him again.
'Alexander.'
Victoria finally felt at ease and wanted to ask where they were, but she couldn't make a sound.
She even felt groggy.
Fragments of memories from last night started to flood her mind, and her long lashes stopped moving as she stared blankly at another spot.
Her eyes held a hollow look, and she seemed less alert.
Alexander, however, elegantly sat down by her bed, looking at her. "Tori."
Victoria heard the gentle yet hesitant voice and even thought it was a dream.
She looked up and quietly gazed at him.
"Should we take a contraceptive pill?"
Victoria's breathing finally steadied, and her eyes gradually regained some warmth.
But a contraceptive pill?
Why did he look so guilty?
Victoria didn't quite understand; her mind was still foggy.
Soon, she fell asleep again; she was too exhausted.
Alexander sat beside her for half an hour, then silently lay down next to her.
It seemed that all his worries had been resolved after last night.
His fingertips gently traced her slender shoulder, and images of her wildest behavior from last night filled his mind.
She had probably called his name and told him she loved him a thousand times.
Alexander was extremely satisfied, his eyes unable to hide his pride.
Victoria had feelings for him.
He couldn't help but lean closer, his forehead resting against her ear.
It wasn't until he felt her temperature was off that he stopped feeling proud and reached out to touch her forehead, immediately getting up.
Victoria opened her eyes groggily several times, but seeing him by her side, she fell back asleep.
During this time, she had taken some medicine, and he had helped her cool down physically.
She couldn't remember clearly.
When she woke up again, it was dark.
But Victoria couldn't tell if it was early morning or night.
She just smelled a familiar scent, the scent of Alexander she knew so well.
She opened her eyes and finally saw those worried eyes.
"Tori, Tori?"
Alexander called her softly, hoping she wouldn't fall back asleep.
Victoria only felt a sudden coolness on her forehead, which was very comfortable. She closed her eyes and couldn't help but murmur, "Alexander, is that you?"
"It's me."
He lay beside her, holding her gently and speaking softly.
Victoria's lips parted slightly, clearly relieved. She turned over with effort and instinctively hugged him.
Alexander looked down, seeing her actively hugging him, and his heart raced with excitement.
It was this racing heartbeat that slowly brought Victoria's memories back together.
Something didn't seem right.
She gradually let go of him and looked up at him. "Where are we?"
"A luxury suite at the bar."
Alexander replied.
Not in Elysium Country.
Victoria's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately pulled away from his embrace.
Because she was weak, she just hunched over and stared at him blankly.
Alexander, seeing her nervous and doubtful expression, felt a bit panicked and asked softly, "What's wrong?"
"Why are we here? What time is it? Where's Olivia?"
"Olivia? She went home with Edward."Alexander said.
In the morning, Edward also looked very tired, but he seemed very happy.
Victoria still looked at Alexander blankly and asked, "Then, why are we here? You and me?"
Victoria thought carefully and couldn't help but look at him, trying to recall her memory, and asked, "Did I ask you to wait for me outside last night?"
"Yes."
Alexander patiently responded.
Although he was worried, she couldn't run away now.
In her current state, she wouldn't have the energy to cause trouble for a while.
"And then?"
"Adrian gave you guys a few bottles of cocktails with something added to them."
"Good thing I came; otherwise, do you know what would have happened?"
Alexander's voice was still gentle as he asked her.
But Victoria's heartbeat was getting faster and faster.
Seeing the three scratches on his neck, each at least an inch long, she felt something was wrong.
Alexander didn't mind at all and said softly, "You were too wild last night."
Victoria's face started to heat up.
There was no need for him to explain what happened last night.
Because there were more than just scratches on his neck.
Fragments of memories quickly filled her mind again. She was so hot last night.
'Was that me?'
"Tori, I loved that side of you."
He said in her ear, looking very happy.
Victoria opened her mouth, wanting to say something but not knowing where to start.
But she was sure that none of it was genuine.
"You kept saying you loved me."
Alexander's hoarse voice was filled with endless affection, and he hugged her tightly again. "Tori, last night was the real you."
"No, it wasn't."
Victoria instinctively denied it, though she lacked confidence.
Alexander immediately looked up at her, seriously examining her denial, and patiently warned her, "You can't deny it. Last night, you were all over me before I even dried your hair."
'What?'
Alexander was a bit angry, dissatisfied with her questioning and resistance, and continued, "Anyway, I don't care. Last night, you insisted on making love to me, and today, I took care of you all day. If you want to pretend nothing happened, I will keep you updated throughout the whole process."
Victoria suddenly panicked.
Although he seemed more anxious than she was.
He seemed ready to threaten her at any moment.
Victoria was most afraid of his threats, so she didn't dare say a word, fearing he would say something more.
'Right,'
'Strawberry?'
A flood of memories suddenly came back, and she immediately sat up.
Then, Victoria looked down at her simple silk camisole and unconsciously pulled the blanket behind her.
Her sleeping position was wrong, and her dress had ridden up.
"Victoria."
A sudden stern voice came from behind her.
Victoria turned her head woodenly, still blushing, and looked at him with some confusion. "What?"
"You can't not take responsibility."
