Chapter 953 Did You Wait for Me All Night?
"Then why don't you hurry up and get a new wife?"
Victoria smiled and quietly asked Alexander.
"Don't dream about it. No matter how tough you are, I can hold onto you."
Victoria felt a sharp pain in her waist as he spoke; he had grabbed her.
She looked up at him, "It hurts."
The large room suddenly fell silent, and her face began to flush.
Alexander stared straight at her, as if he was about to devour her the next moment.
Alexander lowered his head, cupped her face, and kissed her.
Victoria tried to turn her face away, but he held her firmly. They locked eyes for just a second before Victoria stopped moving, and Alexander closed his cold, sharp eyes. When he kissed her, it was gentle and slow.
Early the next morning, Alexander went to see Victoria and Strawberry off at the airport. He couldn't manage a smile and only reminded Victoria, "Keep your phone the whole day."
"Okay." Victoria agreed.
Alexander was holding Strawberry. He glanced at Strawberry, then at Victoria, and reminded her again, "Don't think that just because I'm far away, you can handle things on your own without telling me. I may be far, but my influence over there is strong."
"I understand."
Victoria kept her head down, not looking at him, unsure of how long he would keep reminding her.
She didn't like these farewell scenes, nor did she like being nagged.
In fact, she didn't even want him to come see her off.
He wasn't like this before; this sudden change was strange.
Moreover, in her view, if someone couldn't be consistently good to another person, these occasional reminders were really unnecessary.
It was like someone giving their heart and then irresponsibly leaving.
Alexander held Victoria's hand up to his face, "You still won't wear the wedding ring?"
"It's inconvenient for me to wear it; it might hurt Strawberry."
She told him, trying to pull her hand back, but he held onto her fingertip.
Alexander finally looked at Victoria, his eyes full of emotion, but he only said, "I'll come to see you in a few days."
"No need." She refused.
"Are you forbidding me to come?" He asked.
"How could I control you?"
Victoria thought he didn't need to ask such questions.
If he had listened to her, they would have divorced long before Strawberry was born.
Later, Alexander stood alone by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the plane take off, a look of loneliness in his eyes.
Diana returned to her house at 2 PM, slept until dark, and then, feeling hungry, threw on some clothes and went out. She looked up to see the door across the hall open.
Diana felt like her heart was tied up, her legs unable to move, and she followed the scent into Curtis's apartment.
"Curtis, you're back early?"
"Yeah."
He glanced at her and then continued cooking.
Diana walked over to him, leaning on the counter with both hands, watching him cook. "I don't like this dish."
"You don't have to eat it."
Diana immediately quieted down.
She decided to stay for dinner. But she noticed Curtis was unhappy. She recalled that Lean had sat next to him at the office party last night and asked, "What? Did Lean think you're old and make you unhappy?"
Curtis paused his cooking and looked at Diana.
Diana met his gaze, blinked, and then sensibly walked over to the dining table to sit down.
She didn't want to make him angry.
"When did you get back?" He suddenly asked.
Diana had just taken out her phone to play a game. She closed it and said, "At 2 PM, why?"
"Why did you say on Facebook that you would be back last night?" He probed.
Diana immediately thought of what Victoria had told her, that Curtis would wait for her all night.
Her eyes filled with excitement, and she quietly walked over to his side, looking at him softly. "Did you wait for me all night?"
