Chapter 586 You Are So Beautiful
"Do I look like I'm pregnant?" Victoria asked.
Although she was married, she was still a virgin.
Nicole said, "Don't play dumb. How else could you suddenly get this treatment if you weren't pregnant?"
"The police are currently searching for the suspect who kidnapped Victoria." Adrian reminded Nicole.
"But look at her. She's glowing. Does she look like someone who was kidnapped and seriously injured?" Nicole remained skeptical.
"But seriously, here's something you need to know. My husband hired a bodyguard for me. I heard he can crush a person's skull with one punch." Victoria leaned in close to her, whispering in a deliberately coy manner.
Nicole instinctively glanced at the person standing to the side, immediately shrinking back and keeping quiet.
Victoria noticed that Nicole was scared, so she changed the subject, "By the way, I've gained a lot of weight. Will it affect my image?"
Nicole's face turned red with frustration. She wassuddenly too afraid to provoke her.
Adrian sighed. "No, it won't."
Nicole was very angry. Not only did the Harrington family spoil her, but even the male lead of their crew pampered her.
Victoria still felt uneasy. "I haven't seen Mr. Barnes yet. When I see him later, I'm sure I'll get scolded."
Alexander didn't intimidate her as much as Dennis did here.
The doctor said her injury needed proper care, so the elders kept preparing nourish food for her every day, and she had gained weight.
She hadn't eaten properly for months, and in the past ten days, she made up for it.
"He doesn't dare to scold you anymore." Adrian reminded her.
Victoria looked at him in confusion, then immediately guessed, "Could it be..."
"He's too smart to mess with the Harrington family," Adrian said, glancing at Frank, and couldn't help but walk over to Victoria, turning his back to Frank as he spoke to her, "Is he really the bodyguard my brother found for you?"
He made Victoria feel uncertain.
Victoria replied, "That's what Alexander said, and he's indeed been following me. So, yeah, I think he is"
Nicole, standing nearby, overheard their conversation and couldn't help but sneak another glance at Frank. She probably could never have such a bodyguard in her lifetime.
Moreover, Frank accompanied Victoria all the way inside, and many actresses turned to look at him.
Even though he was very muscular and didn't have the slender build of an ordinary male star, the sense of security he provided couldn't be found in a skinny man.
Even Adrian, with his good physique, felt his muscles weren't strong enough when he saw Frank. With Frank protecting Victoria, Adrian suddenly felt much more at ease.
To be honest, after Victoria's incident, Adrian had suggested to Dennis that they find a bodyguard for her.
Dennis agreed, but he agreed to let Alexander find one, and then...
Dennis was with him at the time, and when he called Alexander, Alexander said he had already found one and told them not to worry.
When Dennis saw Victoria that day, after a few words of concern, he told her to focus on filming and then disappeared.
Victoria couldn't help but think, 'Does Alexander scare Dennis?'
After all, Alexander loved to threaten people.
For a whole week, her schedule was packed. By the time she and Adrian went to get their marriage license for the last scene, Alexander suddenly appeared.
Craig was energetically directing the scene, but when he saw who had arrived, his voice immediately softened.
Craig said, "Think about everything you've been through, and now you can finally be together, right? You must be very excited."
Adrian looked at the last two lines of their script and suddenly felt a bit sad.
After this film, they probably wouldn't work together again.
This was also the closest they would ever be to each other.
In the future...
Adrian glanced at the man sitting in Craig's chair and couldn't help but chuckle.
In the future, he really would have to consider Victoria his sister-in-law.
Victoria focused on memorizing her lines and building up her emotions.
When she glanced at Alexander, she suddenly remembered the day they went to get their marriage license.
That day felt like a lifetime ago, but also...
After filming, Victoria was picked up by Alexander.
Nicole even said, "I told you she was pregnant, and you didn't believe me."
"Do you have any evidence?" Adrian retorted.
Nicole said, "She's been treated like royalty on set, with a bodyguard, an assistant, and Mr. Harrington personally picked her up. Isn't that enough proof? Adrian, don't be naive. Our girls in the entertainment industry all want to get a rich man. If we could secure wealth and status by having a baby, we'd be over the moon."
Adrian ignored Nicole's words. He knew Victoria definitely wasn't pregnant.
But her acting was over, and now her real life was beginning.
Their wedding was less than a week away.
Victoria said she wouldn't get married, but Adrian knew she couldn't escape this time.
Nicole wasn't entirely wrong, but one day, she would give him a nephew. He smiled again, even though it was a bitter smile.
It was his own fault for not winning her over.
---
On the way back to the city with Alexander, Victoria looked at the signs around them and asked, "Aren't we going back to the Harrington Mansion?"
"There's a meeting tomorrow. We're going to the new house today," Alexander replied.
"I want to go back." Victoria, pretending not to hear him, and muttered.
Alexander could see she was stubbornly wanting to go back to the Harrington Mansion, but he still said, "Tomorrow night."
"If I don't go back, Grandma will worry about me. You have an early meeting, so you can drop me off, or stop the car now and let Frank take me. You can go to the south of the city yourself," Victoria said.
Alexander glanced at her. "Frank has other things to do tonight. He can't take you."
She looked at him, then turned around. Sure enough, the car that had been following them suddenly turned.
It had been following them just a moment ago.
After Alexander took Victoria to the new house, she clung to the door handle and refused to get out of the car.
Alexander stood by the passenger door, laughing in exasperation, and called her on the phone. When she answered, Alexander reminded her, "Come out, Olivia and the others are waiting for you inside."
"Olivia? Don't lie to me. I'm not coming out." Victoria said and immediately hung up.
She just didn't want to go in with him.
Alexander had no choice but to look toward the house.
Soon, Victoria saw someone appear at the door, waving at her. "Victoria, why aren't you getting out of the car?"
Seeing that it was really Olivia, Victoria immediately opened the car door.
However, as she got out, Alexander blocked her way. Embarrassed, Victoria tried to slip past him, but Alexander extended his arm to block her, "Weren't you not coming out?"
"Stop it. Olivia and the others are here," Victoria said.
Then she suddenly noticed a few people standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
But now she was pinned against the car by Alexander.
Alexander pressed against Victoria, slowly moving down, making her bend over, "What are you doing?"
"Kiss you." With a smile in his eyes and a husky voice, he gave her a peck and then murmured, looking at her flushed face, "Victoria."
"What?"
"You're so beautiful."
