Chapter 59 Breakfast for Three
The nanny brought the thermometer over. Upon seeing Mr. Alexander holding Mrs. Harrington's hand like that, the nanny was so excited that she almost forgot to speak.
"Mrs. Harrington, please help Alexander measure his temperature; I'll go prepare breakfast for you."
"Do we have bread?" Alexander suddenly spoke.
The nanny was taken aback, but quickly responded, "Yes, do you want bread?"
Alexander had never requested bread before for breakfast, so the nanny was a bit surprised.
"Toast, a few slices. Someone likes it." Alexander looked tenderly at the woman sitting next to him. Victoria also looked at him in confusion.
He couldn't be talking about her, could he? Although she did like it, she never said she only liked bread. But, unintentionally looking up, she saw his ink-like eyes already staring at her, and her heart trembled. She immediately lowered her eyes, not saying anything else. As for eating, she would eat a few more bites if it was suitable, and a few less if it wasn't.
"Alexander, why are you frowning?" The nanny was about to leave after serving breakfast, but Alexander was frowning, as if questioning her cooking skills.
"The taste seems a bit off." Alexander's eyes were half-closed, and his voice carried an inexplicable seriousness.
"What's wrong with the taste? Doesn't it taste good? Mrs. Harrington, you try it. I got a certificate in the cooking training class." The nanny quickly said.
Alexander listened and smiled faintly.
Victoria took a bite, "It's pretty good."
"I understand." After hearing Victoria’s opinion, the nanny immediately seemed to have an epiphany.
Alexander and Victoria both looked at her. "Mr. Alexander is feverish and has no taste in his mouth, maybe that’s why you think the taste is off. I'll cook for you again when the fever is gone." The nanny said as she took off her apron and left.
Alexander helplessly looked at Victoria. Victoria broke off a small bite of the bread she had eaten and only finished the part she had bitten.
Alexander asked, "Why aren't you finishing it?"
"Oh, I'm on a diet recently."
"Hmph." Alexander chuckled.
He didn’t believe she was on a diet; it was clearly that the bread was too oily. It was strange; why was the bread she toasted so delicious?
It was not as oily as the one toasted by the nanny, and there was not as much seasoning, but... Alexander couldn't help but look at her again, "When can we try our..."
He was about to speak but suddenly, the doorbell rang. Alexander frowned immediately.
Victoria also felt a little disappointed. Could it be Isabella? If it was...
"I asked you to change the password last time; didn't you change it?" Alexander asked her.
Victoria pondered over it and couldn't help but hang her head in disappointment.
He didn't really give this house to her, so how could she change it?
The nanny opened the door and was immediately unhappy when she saw Isabella, "Miss Montgomery, how come you're here again?"
"Oh, my nanny is on leave, so I came to mooch off you." Isabella said with a smile, gave the nanny a fruit basket that someone had given her yesterday, and then walked in by herself.
‘Old Lady Harrington, that woman is here to cause trouble again.’ The nanny thought.
The two people in the dining room both heard her voice; Victoria was a little unsure of what to do.
This situation... it was very awkward.
Dinner for three?
No, breakfast for three.
"Alex, thanks for taking care of me so long last night, but you have to take care of me a little longer." She said and directly hugged his neck from behind him. This seemed so natural for her. She smiled and looked at Victoria while waving her hand, "Morning, Vicky."
Victoria looked up for a moment, immediately lowered her eyes, and stood up, "You continue."
"Victoria."
