Chapter314 Today, I Will Forever Hold You

"Let us acquaint ourselves. Meet Olivia," Alexander announced, presenting the woman who had just entered the room.

"Hi," Olivia greeted, waving her hand.

Victoria responded with a polite nod, uttering a simple, "Hello."

"Why are you being so polite?" Olivia was straightforward and didn't beat around the bush.

Victoria was jolted from her thoughts, casting a puzzled look at Olivia. "Sorry, I didn't catch what you said."

"No wonder Alexander said you're not faithful. What were you thinking just now? Another man, perhaps?" Olivia interrogated her without hesitation.

Victoria felt a pang of guilt under Olivia's scrutinizing gaze.

Later, she discovered that Olivia was an acquaintance from her childhood, someone who had taken a particular liking to her. However, Victoria had no recollection of this.

Alexander studied Victoria for a moment, stroking his chin. He couldn't shake off the feeling that she was constantly preoccupied with thoughts of him.

"Let's meet before the birthday banquet tonight," Olivia suggested before making a swift exit.

After bidding Olivia farewell, Alexander turned his attention back to Victoria. He took her hand once again. "Come with me."

"Harrington, I have work to attend to," Victoria protested.

"You're off duty today," Alexander said.

He led her to his office, pulling her against the door by her waist. In a deep, commanding voice, he asked, "What were you thinking about earlier?"

"What?" Victoria responded, visibly flustered.

"Do you need a reminder of what just happened?" Alexander tightened his grip on her waist.

"I just thought she was attractive," Victoria replied.

"Really?" Alexander asked.

"She mentioned holding me as a child," Victoria attempted to divert the conversation.

Alexander didn't express any suspicion but found himself drawn to her once more, whispering provocatively, "I've held you too."

Victoria's cheeks flushed crimson, her body feeling uncomfortably pinned.

Alexander, however, found himself captivated by her rosy complexion, unable to comprehend his own behavior. Lately, he was consumed by the thought of her beauty.

"Are you running a fever?" Alexander asked softly, his tone laced with ambiguity.

Victoria couldn't meet his gaze, her heart pounding with embarrassment.

"Harrington, I need to return to work," Victoria insisted.

"What if I don't want to let you go?" Alexander murmured.

Victoria felt overwhelmed by his intense presence, forcing herself to look at him before averting her gaze. She whispered, "It's my birthday today. You shouldn't be treating me like this."

Upon hearing this, Alexander gently cradled her face. Her skin was burning hot. Without hesitation, he leaned in for another kiss.

Victoria found herself gasping for air, her hands pressed firmly against the wall.

"Breathe," Alexander instructed before resuming his passionate assault.

This was his gift to her, his way of commencing her birthday celebrations.

He wanted to kiss her until she was dizzy with desire, leading her to his bed.

Unable to resist, Alexander deepened the kiss, swiftly lifting her off the ground, saying, "Baby, you can only be by my side today."

"What did you say?" Victoria's words were lost in the intensity of his kiss.

"Today, I will hold you, always," Alexander said.

Victoria thought to herself, 'that wasn't necessary.'

She felt herself being drawn to him, but not to the point of losing her sanity.
