Chapter 636 It Was My Own Decision to Come Back

It started to drizzle in the evening.

In the brightly lit Harrington Mansion, a dark sports car slowly pulled in.

"Mr. Harrington is back." Mason ran out with an umbrella to greet him.

"I bought some fruit. Go wash and cut it, then bring it upstairs," Alexander said, handing the fruit basket to Mason. He confidently walked inside without requiring Mason's help with the umbrella.

Mason slowed down, holding the fruit basket in one hand and the umbrella in the other, looking at Alexander with a gaze full of relief.

As Alexander ascended the stairs and approached the door, he abruptly halted upon hearing a woman's soft voice emanating from inside the room.

From the bed, Victoria noticed a slender beam of light seeping through the crack in the door. Curious, she turned her gaze towards it while clutching her phone.

She said into the phone, "You could tell I had a little cold? You're amazing. It's too late now. Let's leave it at that. Yeah, I'll take care of myself. Talk later."

Victoria wanted to hang up, but the person on the other end kept talking. She could only stare at the door and quickly end the call, her eyes still fixed on the door. "Who is it?"

Her gentle voice sounded a bit strained due to the cold.

The door was pushed open from the outside, revealing Alexander standing there.

Victoria looked at the man who had said in the morning that he wouldn't be back tonight, and her heart suddenly surged with emotions.

Reminding herself not to get overly excited, she asked softly, "Why did you come back?"

"My mom came to find me," Alexander replied indifferently, striding forward.

Victoria watched him approach, her heart beating faster and faster.

Last night, he was too rough, and she still felt a bit resentful. However, she didn't want to argue at the Harrington Mansion. When he reached the bedside, she lowered her eyes and said, "I told Mom you would be very busy today and that we didn't need to wait for you tonight."

"But you didn't sound convincing enough. She saw through your lie right away." Victoria looked at him in confusion.

He was questioning her acting skills.

But whatever. After all, she wasn't a professional actress.

Besides, Alexander was to blame for her condition. He kept her awake the entire night with their passionate lovemaking. Consequently, she would catch a cold and feel weak, and she would be easily seen through.

The elders in the family were all experienced people.

Victoria believed only by not meeting them she could hide it from them.'

Soon, she looked at Alexander seriously again. "Does your promise to let me go act after I accompany you for half a month still count?"

"Did you accompany me?" Alexander asked.

Victoria blinked, staring at him blankly.

What kind of question was that? Hadn't she been accompanying him all along?

"Didn't you make me angry last night?" Alexander said.

Victoria's eyes suddenly welled up with tears, and she immediately lowered her gaze, starting to sulk.

"I've never seen anyone accompany people like you," he said.

"So you're not going to keep your promise, right?" Victoria asked, feeling both angry and ashamed, yet she dared not to lose her temper. She lowered her head and twisted her hands.

"What if I say yes?" Alexander looked at her aggrieved expression, feeling a strange pang in his heart.

Victoria fell silent, immediately lifting the blanket to get out of bed.

Alexander stood by and watched. When she tried to stand up, he casually reached out and pressed her back.

Victoria tried to get up but was pressed back each time. Finally, she looked at him again and asked, "Can't I even go back to Rockland Street?"

"That call just now was from Adrian, right?"

Victoria didn't expect him to bring up this topic, momentarily caught off guard. But after a moment, she immediately raised her chin and replied, "Yes, so what?"

"So you're going back to Rockland Street to see Adrian and let him take care of you?" Alexander asked.

Victoria looked at him in confusion, thinking, 'So he heard everything I said on the phone just now.'

Adrian could tell she had a cold just from a phone call and cared so much about her. However, Alexander, who shared a bed with her every night and had said he loved her, only selfishly demanded that she say she loved him.

Why didn't she dare to say that again?

Alexander clearly knew what she was afraid of, yet he still forced her.

When she almost died on a business trip, he didn't show concern first but inexplicably lost his temper with her when she returned. And last night...

Victoria didn't want to deal with him anymore. However, every time she tried to get up, he pushed her back down.

"Alexander, you..."

When Victoria was pushed down again, she immediately got angry and tried to push him back.

But as soon as she reached out her hands, he grabbed her wrists.

Alexander was strong, easily restraining her. He looked at her, seemingly mocking her for overestimating herself.

Seeing her red eyes, Alexander loosened hisgrip, moving closer.

Victoria turned away, not wanting him to get close.

Alexander quickly positioned himself between her legs, released her wrists, and gently stroked her long hair. "Even with a cold, you have such a bad temper."

Hearing his low whisper, Victoria couldn't help but feel he was actually concerned about her. But she quickly calmed down and remained silent.

"My mom did come to the office to find me, but it was my own decision to come back," Alexander explained.

Hearing his words, Victoria felt a surge of warmth in her heart.

She didn't understand why Alexander would say something that made her think he loved her, but she quickly regained her composure. She didn't want to fall into her own delusions again.

Alexander sighed lightly, looking at her haggard appearance. "Last night was my fault. I apologize."

Victoria slowly looked up at the towering Alexander and asked softly, "How will you apologize?"

She thought she should seize the opportunity to get more personal space from him.

"How about you do whatever you want tonight?" Alexander suggested.

Victoria was very disappointed.

She knew he was just saying it. He really wasn't trustworthy.

Seeing her so unhappy, Alexander immediately spoke gently to her, "Just kidding. No sex tonight. I'll let you rest."

Victoria didn't buy a word of it.

What if he was just kidding again?

Maybe later, he would say that was a joke, too.

"What will it take for you to stop being angry?" Alexander had to lift her chin, making her look at him.

Victoria immediately turned her head away, avoiding his hand, but soon, her chin was forcefully grabbed.

Alexander bent down, looking into her eyes. "If you keep being angry with me, I really will have sex with you."

"You..." Victoria was furious.

Alexander's mind was full of sex.

Victoria was very disappointed with his gentle words and didn't want to look at him anymore.

"Don't you know that for a man who just experienced sex, last night was just a normal lovemaking session? I have many techniques and ideas I want to explore with you."

"Stop talking." Victoria blushed as she quickly raised her hand to cover his mouth.

With what they had done last night, he called it a normal lovemaking session?

What would it be like if it wasn't normal?

Alexander's eyes were filled with uncontrollable desire as he looked at her seriously. Only when he saw her fear did he gently kiss her. "Victoria, I..."

Suddenly, there were two crisp knocks on the door. Victoria quickly dodged the kiss, her voice tense. "Who is it?"

"Mrs. Harrington, it's me. Mr. Harrington brought back some fruit, and I've washed and cut it for you."

"Come in." Victoria didn't actually hear what the maid, Jenny Smith, said outside, but she didn't care.

When Alexander heard Victoria say "come in," he looked at her and slowly straightened up.
