Chapter 1012 Car Accident
Alexander quietly watched Victoria's face, a smile occasionally appearing.
Alexander felt a pang of jealousy; she rarely smiled like that in front of him.
But today, he couldn't afford to be jealous anymore.
He even hoped that the moments Adrian shared with her might help her remember something.
She had been happy once, but now she always felt like she was living in a shadow.
"Hey, Alexander, you're back."
Adrian was the first to notice him, but there was a hint of sadness in his voice, making his smile not quite reach his eyes.
Victoria tensed up inexplicably when she heard Adrian call out to Alexander.
Alexander glanced at Victoria before striding over to Adrian, "Why are you sitting on the floor? Get up and sit on the couch."
"Alright." Adrian got up and moved to a single-seater couch.
Alexander then sat down next to Victoria. "Do you like listening to him talk?"
Victoria didn't know why she felt so nervous, but she couldn't bring herself to respond.
"If you do, I'll have him come over more often to keep you company."
Alexander's gentle voice said.
Victoria didn't dare to breathe.
Adrian muttered, "I'm taking that seriously, Alexander."
"So, you're planning to neglect Ava to take care of Victoria?"
Adrian felt a bit down at the mention of Ava.
He glanced at Victoria's reaction; he hadn't told her about Ava yet.
But Victoria had already heard, and he could see it in her expression.
Alexander held Victoria's hand, gently squeezing it, and whispered, "If he bothers you, we won't have him over anymore."
"Victoria likes me, okay?"
Adrian immediately muttered.
"Really? Do you like him?"
Alexander studied Victoria.
Victoria's eyes showed a hint of panic. She didn't like him.
She just found him friendly, so she didn't push him away.
She didn't want to embarrass anyone, but in this matter, she firmly shook her head.
Seeing this, Alexander's grip on her hand softened considerably.
Victoria relaxed a bit because of his gentle touch.
She remembered some things she had heard, like not flirting with other men.
She couldn't flirt, but she knew she had to keep her distance from other men.
Alexander looked at Adrian, asking cheerfully, "Now do you know what you mean to Victoria?"
"You didn't invite me to dinner just to say this, did you?"
Adrian said, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
He wanted to see what good food was worth this humiliation.
But the truth was, even if there was nothing special, he would stay.
After dinner, Alexander said, "Stay the night. The snow is too heavy, it's not safe."
"Alright."
Adrian felt a pang in his heart, but agreed.
Alexander held Victoria's hand, rarely letting go in front of him.
It wasn't just because of Victoria; to Adrian, staying at Alexander's house felt like a confirmation of their bond.
That night, with Adrian there, they didn't watch anything else but his show, and even the songs were sung by him.
Adrian watched himself getting cozy with other women on screen and instinctively glanced at Victoria, suddenly grateful she couldn't see.
"Adi, your kissing skills aren't bad," Alexander said, holding Victoria and glancing at the TV.
Since they had already told her they were watching Adrian's show, Victoria knew it was him.
Hearing Alexander praise his kissing skills, she guessed the content.
Adrian's face turned red with embarrassment. "Yeah."
This wasn't something he could deny.
"How about we interview our household star? Do you want to know what he thinks when he acts out those intimate scenes with women? Does he like it?" Alexander said, looking at Victoria, who seemed curious, then glanced at Adrian.
Adrian's face was burning. He never thought Alexander would make him blush.
Victoria smiled and listened intently.
Seeing her expression, Adrian felt even more conflicted. "You can't discriminate against my profession. I know what I'm doing, and I ask you to trust my professional ethics."
Victoria thought he made a good point.
"Oh, so you never had feelings while acting?" Alexander insisted.
Adrian was stumped.
"Why aren't you talking? Did I hit the mark?" Alexander asked again.
"Victoria has acted too. If you think I might have feelings, what about her?"
"Her? Of course not. She doesn't do kissing scenes," Alexander said, starting to get a bit unhappy, but then smiled smugly.
Adrian remembered Alexander visiting the set when they were filming and felt even more frustrated.
But he endured it.
Alexander's phone rang. He glanced at it and answered, "What's up?"
He answered in front of Victoria, not wanting to make her feel insecure by taking the call elsewhere.
"Are you kidding? With this heavy snow, of course, I'm staying home with my wife," Alexander said, holding Victoria's hand.
Victoria blushed at his words. How did she become his wife?
She wished she could be that lucky. If she were his wife, she would give him absolute freedom.
But she feared the term of wife was just a playful nickname.
"That's it, I'm hanging up," Alexander said and hung up, patiently explaining to Victoria, "It was Edward. He probably had another fight with Olivia."
Victoria felt a bit worried hearing Olivia's name.
"Don't worry, Olivia can handle him better than you handle me."
Victoria was stunned.
She handled him?
"Alexander, don't you feel guilty saying that? You're always the one in control with Victoria."
Alexander shot him a cold look. He didn't want Victoria to know that.
"He's just joking. He can't stand seeing us happy," Alexander said to Victoria on purpose.
Adrian felt stifled but didn't say anything more.
Later, Diana called, "Alexander, I've a car accident, I scratched your Porsche."
Alexander instantly became serious. "Are you okay?"
"Minor accident, the turn was too slippery. I'm fine, but the car hit the wall."
"As long as you're okay. What were you doing out so late?"
"I was just reporting to you, not asking for an interrogation. Bye."
Diana said, already entering the building.
The door was open.
