Chapter 447 You Are Widowed

"I don't believe your promises." Victoria's eyes were moist, filled with disappointment.

Would anyone else ever hurt her again? It sounded so heartfelt. But anyone could say that, couldn't they? He had said before that he wouldn't let her get hurt, but did she not get hurt again?

"Why don't you believe me?" Alexander asked.

"Do you remember when she sent someone to threaten me at my apartment? You promised it wouldn't happen again. I ran to Elysium to escape, but I still couldn't avoid it. I still have scars on my wrist." Victoria's voice grew hoarse with emotion.

"That person doesn't like women, so I am lucky. But what if the man she sends liked women? Have you thought about that? We might never have seen each other again."

"Victoria," Alexander called.

"Or we wouldn't even need a divorce. You'd be a widower," Victoria replied.

Alexander felt a dull pain in his heart. Looking at her, he couldn't say a word. Alexander suddenly couldn't tease her anymore, nor could he kiss her. He got off her and placed her back in her seat, then turned away, looking outside to avoid her gaze.

Victoria went to the rooftop. Alexander said he would let her go if she found her documents, so Victoria put aside her sadness and rushed to the rooftop.

Meanwhile, Alexander entered Benjamin's house.

Benjamin was playing a game on his phone. Seeing Alexander, he nonchalantly remarked, "Victoria struck a nerve again?"

"Drink with me," Alexander said flatly.

Benjamin didn't say anything because Alexander was already slumped on the couch. Benjamin put down his phone to get some drinks.

As they poured their drinks, Alexander's phone rang. It was Isabella.

Alexander held the phone for a moment, then opened it and put it on speaker, lazily placing it on the table in front of him without saying a word.

Benjamin knew Alexander didn't care for Isabella, but he still found Alexander's behavior a bit odd. Was it appropriate to listen to this?

Apparently, it was fine.

"Alexander, I just woke up. I want to see you," Isabella said.

"I really want to scare Victoria. I never intended to harm Victoria, take her virginity, or actually hurt her. It was like when we played hide and seek as kids," Isabella's hoarse voice was clearly from crying. She didn't know Alexander, on the other end, was unmoved.

Benjamin sipped his drink, staring at the phone. Obsession was scary. Some feelings were okay to be obsessive about, but others were not.

Alexander had made it clear he didn't like Isabella, so why didn't Isabella understand to back off?

It had to reach a point of no return, where neither side could bear to see each other again. Benjamin even worried that Isabella might fall into an even more terrifying abyss.

"Alexander, please, for the sake of my short time left, don't hold it against me. Can you forgive me one more time?" Isabella continued speaking.

Even though Alexander didn't say a word, Isabella kept talking. Her voice sounded weak, but Isabella refused to stop.

"Alexander..." Isabella said.

"Isabella, if I have evidence, you'd already be at the police station," Alexander said this one sentence before hanging up the phone.

Benjamin looked at him in shock. "Would you really send Isabella to jail?"

"If your wife was raped and might even die, what would you do?" Alexander looked at the wedding ring in his hand and said this calmly.

Of course, Alexander would seek revenge ruthlessly.
