Chapter 976 Applying Pressure
"You just called Frank..."
"I understand, Mr. Harrington means to tell Isabella that he will go to see her, give her hope, and then slowly break her down."
Frank, for once, had a lot to say.
Alexander glanced at Diana, "Do you understand?"
"Yes, Alexander, you mustn't go see Isabella. She is too cunning."
"Strawberry is awake, too. Take her out to play, and make sure you eat light for lunch."
"Got it."
After Alexander gave his instructions, Diana set off with Strawberry in her arms.
Diana took Strawberry to eat near the university town, randomly choosing a restaurant.
She thought Strawberry should experience a commoner's life.
When she was young, she liked eating in such places, but it was always Maximus and Brett who brought her.
Of course, she couldn't let Strawberry eat too much of this food, as Strawberry was only a little over a year old.
"Curtis, over here."
Diana and Strawberry were eating when they heard someone call out.
Diana paused for a moment, then she pretended not to hear and continued eating.
"Just a moment."
The voice came from beside Diana.
Strawberry had already looked up at the handsome man standing at their table, and Diana, of course, knew this man was Curtis.
But she had no intention of greeting him.
"Is this your niece, Strawberry?"
"Yes."
Diana responded indifferently, then put down her fork and fed Strawberry.
Strawberry shook her head, then took the spoon and tried to feed herself.
Curtis felt a warmth in his heart as he watched Strawberry, then looked down at Diana. Diana didn't look at him at all; she really wasn't pursuing him anymore.
"You haven't been back for a long time," Curtis said.
"Yes, I'm back today to pack some things," Diana said.
"Does Strawberry recognize people now?"
Curtis pulled out a chair and sat down next to Strawberry, continuing to find topics to talk about.
Diana just nodded and kept eating without saying a word.
"Alright, I'm here with some school leaders for lunch. We'll talk later." Curtis said before leaving.
Diana quietly choked up, then took a tissue to wipe Strawberry's mouth.
Strawberry didn't understand anything and just kept giggling.
In the evening, Diana finished packing and was picked up by Felix.
Diana was holding Strawberry at the door when Curtis returned and happened to meet them.
Diana instinctively turned her eyes.
Curtis was in the same suit from noon. She saw him and asked lightly, "You're back."
"Are you moving out?"
Curtis glanced at someone helping Diana with her luggage.
"Yes, I won't be living here anymore."
Diana nodded in agreement.
"Leah came to my place that night because she was mad at her boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? Aren't you her boyfriend?"
"Do I look like someone who likes such young girls?"
Diana didn't ask Curtis more, but she couldn't help thinking.
Felix returned, "Ms. Diana Harrington, the things are loaded. Shall we go?"
"Yes."
Diana agreed, then bent down to pick up Strawberry.
Curtis smiled helplessly.
Seeing him smile, Diana felt lost, like her heart was about to fly away.
"Who is this gentleman?"
Felix actually came over deliberately to size up Curtis, pretending to have just noticed him.
"My neighbor."
"Curtis."
When Diana said neighbor, Curtis introduced himself.
The name Curtis sounded familiar to Felix.
"So it's Mr. Windsor. Nice to meet you."
Felix said politely.
"Let's go, Felix."
Diana didn't want Felix talking to Curtis.
And Felix actually knew who Curtis was.
Diana felt a bit uneasy, thinking that her family might know about her breakup with Curtis, which was really embarrassing.
"Diana."
"What?"
Diana responded irritably, turning to glare at Curtis.
"Nothing."
Curtis looked at Diana for a while but ultimately didn't say anything.
Hearing him say nothing made Diana even more annoyed, thinking he was just too cowardly. She turned and walked out with Strawberry in her arms.
Felix politely said goodbye to Curtis before catching up.
On the road, Diana, holding Strawberry, looked ahead and asked, "Felix, did my mom tell you anything?"
"What do you mean?"
Felix pretended not to understand.
"About Curtis."
Diana blurted out.
She thought Felix was pretending not to know what she was talking about.
Felix smiled, "He seems like a very nice young man."
"Felix, do my parents know that Curtis dumped me?"
Diana asked, holding Strawberry.
Strawberry was holding onto the back of Felix's seat, listening intently, though she didn't understand.
Strawberry and Diana did have similar eyes, both big and bright.
"Maybe it's because Mr. Windsor doesn't deserve you?"
Felix replied.
Diana felt a bit better hearing this, then muttered, "I lied to him at first."
"You lied to Mr. Windsor?"
"Yes, I didn't tell him about my family when we were dating."
"Then maybe Mr. Windsor didn't break up with you because he thought he didn't deserve you, but because he was angry that you hid the truth from him?"
"He said himself that he didn't deserve me."
Diana was moved by Felix's words, but Curtis's words still echoed in her ears.
"Men's pride is always strong. Besides, couples often say things they don't mean when they argue. I think Mr. Windsor is a very rational young man. Ms. Diana Harrington, if you try harder, he will definitely be yours."
"I don't want to try anymore. He doesn't even dare to be with me. I don't want such a cowardly man."
Diana stubbornly muttered.
"Then let's not bother with him. There are plenty of good men in the world."
Felix said.
Diana thought Felix made sense.
And what mattered was whether Curtis had the guts.
At nine in the evening, in a private room at the club.
"Isabella is locked in the dark room. She's shouting to see the warden. Should we put more pressure on her?"
