Chapter 598 Get Her by Any Means
"The wedding is about to take place, and you..." Alexander was extremely annoyed, wanting to scold Victoria, but he held it back.
She had that utterly apologetic look.
If he hadn't seen the mischievous glint in her eyes before she lowered them, he might have really believed she was truly sorry.
Victoria was actually very sorry. She originally intended to push his face, but she accidentally scratched the corner of his eye with her nail.
Ten minutes later, he irritably went to the bathroom to take a shower. When he returned to the bed, he saw his pajamas placed beside him. He gritted his teeth, "Should I thank you?"
Victoria replied, "No. Just put them on quickly; be careful not to catch a cold."
——
The next morning, Alexander was about to leave after washing up.
Victoria came into the bathroom from the room and said, "Wait a moment before you go."
"What do you want now?" Alexander asked her defensively.
Last night, she almost poked his eye out.
"I'll help you cover it up," Victoria replied.
"How?"
"Come here."
Victoria tugged at a bit of fabric on his sleeve, pulling him inside. Alexander didn't know why he listened to her.
Seeing her looking for makeup, he turned and leaned against the sink, crossing his arms and staring at her, reminding her, "I don't wear makeup."
"I'll just cover up the corner of your eye. Otherwise, Grandma will worry."
Alexander looked at her disappointedly.
He had never seen such an infuriating woman. But he couldn't hit her.
They were going to the island tomorrow. No, as she wished, after midnight.
He planned to quietly take her away while she was asleep. If he mentioned it to her, she definitely wouldn't agree.
Victoria found the concealer, dabbed a bit on her ring finger, and then approached him. He wasn't standing straight, so she just had to raise her hand slightly to touch his injured spot.
Alexander was extremely annoyed, but he forced himself to keep his emotions in check..
After all, his wife was showing concern for him.
'Damn it. She isn't concerned about me at all,' he complained inwardly.
Alexander instinctively moved aside before her hand could touch his wound.
"Don't move, it'll be done soon," she said softly.
Alexander still frowned irritably. "I refuse to let you do this."
Victoria asked, "Why?"
"My grandma isn't as fragile as you think," he said and was about to get up and leave.
Victoria immediately grabbed his arm forcefully. "It'll just take a moment."
"I said no." Alexander glanced at her small hand on his arm.
She was gripping so hard that her fingertips turned red, which looked quite nice.
"Please don't refuse. Just do me a favor." Victoria tried to negotiate with him.
"Why should I help you? Aren't you leaving?"
"I'm not gone yet, am I?" Victoria replied.
Alexander listened, thought for a moment, and reminded her, "I was very unhappy last night."
"Do you remember that actress from our crew? She always stares at you whenever you come to see me. She likes you a lot. How about I introduce her to you?"
"Do I look like I'm lacking women?" Alexander asked her irritably.
Victoria looked at him with a face full of dissatisfaction, thinking he did look like he was lacking.
It was said that some men showed it on their faces when they were not satisfied in bed.
And he was showing it very clearly.
"You're not lacking, of course not. How could you lack women?" she said with a flattering smile, then tried to cover the mark on his face.
But Alexander immediately grabbed her wrist and moved away, "I said no."
"Letting other women see you with a wound on your face isn't good either. They might think you have another woman."
"It'll only take three seconds, I promise." Victoria coaxed softly.
"I don't want it."
"You do." She was getting a bit anxious.
"I just don't want it." Alexander was very insistent, like an immature boy.
Victoria was a bit angry but didn't want him to meet the elders like that. She had a sudden idea, "Be good and cooperate with me, and I'll owe you a favor."
Alexander said, "Sorry, no credit."
Victoria felt he was being too much, pulled her wrist out of his grasp, walked a few steps towards the door, and then turned back to look at him dissatisfied.
Alexander saw that she finally stopped pretending to be good-tempered and couldn't help but snort.
She walked back again, "Then tell me, besides giving me a child, what else do you want to give me?"
Alexander looked down at her stubborn and unruly appearance but didn't speak for a long time.
Victoria couldn't read him and thought he was unfathomable, but still reminded him, "Also, besides giving me a wedding."
Alexander said, "I just want to send you away now."
"Really?"
"Throw you directly from upstairs."
Alright, Alexander really wanted to send her away.
Victoria was so scared she didn't dare to speak, and after a while, she quietly looked at him again.
He seemed very angry.
But it was clearly because he wanted to do that to her that she acted.
And she didn't mean to hurt him. It was his fault for moving so fast.
But Alexander was obviously angry with her now. She thought for a moment and coaxed him again, "Just think of it as making Grandma worry less, okay?"
Alexander asked, "You care so much about her?"
"She's Grandma, after all."
"But you're leaving soon. After you leave, she won't just worry, she might even be furious," Alexander said.
Victoria was speechless.
"I don't need you to be responsible. Whatever happens to the Harrington family after you leave has nothing to do with you. I'll take care of it alone, so you don't need to worry about this little wound," he said and then left.
Victoria stood there, unable to call him back. He made it sound so serious.
"Or we could make up a reason." Alexander stopped at the door.
Victoria's heart gradually filled with hope, looking at him expectantly.
Alexander walked back, still half-sitting on the sink, arms crossed, staring at her, motioning for her to cover his eye.
The concealer on Victoria's hand had dried, so she had to get some more.
As she covered his wound, she asked, "What reason?"
Alexander replied, "You go to the island with me tonight, and I'll tell Grandma we're going early to prepare for the wedding. Then you suddenly have an important event to attend tomorrow and leave."
"And then?" Victoria listened, half-understanding, and asked again.
"Then, I'll say you signed a contract with the company that you can't have a wedding within a year," Alexander said.
Victoria still felt it was unreliable.
"Grandma cares about you. For your bright future, she definitely won't force you. Just say some nice things to her or promise to give her a few great-grandchildren in the future, and she'll definitely stay healthy and happy waiting for you." He spoke slowly, every word hitting her heart.
"How about it?" Alexander negotiated with her kindly.
This wasn't his only plan. The original Plan A was to tie her up and take her to the island while she was asleep. Now this strategy became Plan A.
On the island, he would have the final say.
Alexander was indeed strong, domineering, and insidious.
He was determined to have her, even by any means necessary.
He waited a minute and asked again, "Agreed?"
