Chapter 738 He said, I'm apologizing to you
The carriage was so quiet, a pin could be heard dropping. Even breathing felt like a chore.
Victoria shot Alexander a confused look.
"I'm apologizing to you," Alexander said, his voice firm.
Victoria dropped her gaze, awkwardly fidgeting with her hands.
"I didn't mean to kiss you at noon, it was just..."
Alexander's eyes started to look distant.
"Just what?" Victoria pressed, wanting to hear his excuse.
He seemed genuine about apologizing.
"Just my habit," he muttered, turning to stare out the window.
Victoria's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly looked away, staring outside in silence.
She wasn't going to fall for it again.
Men didn't have habits when it came to women. At most, they had habits of venting.
She didn't even have long hair anymore to hide the hickeys on her neck from him.
Honestly, she couldn't even remember what happened at noon.
By six o'clock in the winter evening, it was already dark. When they got near Metro House, the seaside was dim, but the waves were loud and clear.
"Stop up ahead," Alexander said indifferently.
Felix quickly pulled over. Alexander got out, closed the door, and lit a cigarette without a word.
Felix watched him and said, "He hasn't been happy since you left."
Victoria thought she misheard, but then just smiled it off.
She looked outside, calm and gentle, her eyes no longer holding the passion they once did.
No matter what he did in the future, she couldn't love him anymore.
Victoria lowered her eyes again, staring at the ring on her finger, then turned to look out the window.
The past was the past.
Thinking about her future, she felt calm and serene again.
This cold winter didn't seem so cold anymore.
Alexander was still wearing the clothes she found for him in the lounge that morning, a vest over his shirt. It was pretty cold, but he didn't seem to feel it.
He just finished his cigarette slowly and then walked forward silently.
Felix started the car and followed slowly, saying, "Mrs. Harrington, aren't you and Mr. Harrington going to reconcile?"
"We're divorced," Victoria replied seriously.
Felix asked, "Are you really divorced?"
"Yes," Victoria said firmly. "If we got divorced, we can't remarry, otherwise, what was the point of the divorce?"
Felix said, "But they all say, without a Divorce Decree, there's no divorce."
Victoria fell silent for a moment.
Alexander said he was annoyed by it and threw it away.
Did they need to reapply?
Victoria thought it was unnecessary, too much trouble.
All she wanted was a divorce, and they were already divorced.
"Mrs. Arabella Harrington said, if there's a divorce, there must be a Divorce Decree. You just signed an agreement, and it's unclear if it was even submitted."
"What do you mean it wasn't submitted?"
Victoria's ears buzzed.
"Mrs. Arabella Harrington said she called the court, and they..."
"Let's go back."
Before Felix could finish, Alexander opened the car door and got in.
Felix was stunned and naturally stopped talking.
Victoria was also puzzled by Alexander's sudden return and didn't ask further.
They were so focused on their conversation that she didn't even notice him coming back.
But Felix's words kept echoing in her ears. She couldn't help but glance at Alexander, then again, and then just kept staring.
They were divorced.
His attitude towards her didn't seem like they weren't divorced.
However, Victoria couldn't help but think of their Divorce Decree again, so she leaned slightly towards him and asked with a soft smile, "Mr. Harrington, did you really throw away the Divorce Decree?"
Alexander turned to look at her but asked the driver, "Felix, what did you tell her?"
Felix said guiltily, "I didn't say anything, Mr. Harrington, why are you suddenly asking?"
Victoria didn't intend to betray Felix, she just continued to look at Alexander and asked in as normal a tone as possible, "So, did you really throw away the Divorce Decree?"
Alexander's sharp gaze remained on her but he stayed silent.
Victoria felt a bit breathless under his gaze, her eyes moved, and she immediately reminded, "I'm worried it will be troublesome for you when you remarry."
"What?"
Victoria reminded, "You should reapply for it, I think you need the original Divorce Decree to remarry."
Felix also listened silently from the front, he wanted to hear if they were really divorced.
Alexander asked, "Are you in a hurry to remarry?"
"No, aren't you already dating Ms. Bryant? Shouldn't you take advantage of the passion and make it official?"
Alexander looked at her big eyes and just wanted to pounce on her and teach her a lesson.
Alexander thought to himself, 'Take advantage of the passion? How ridiculous!'
Alexander thought of the morning when Daisy was on his lap and Victoria was indifferent, and his heart grew colder as he looked at Victoria.
Her greatest skill was pushing him to be with other women.
How wonderful!
How many men would want a wife like that?
She said softly and cautiously, "If you need my cooperation, I'm always available."
Alexander just sneered and didn't speak to her again.
Victoria thought, she had made her intentions clear, she would wait for him anyway.
He just needed to know she had no intention of reconciling with him.
When the car entered the estate, she spoke in a particularly light voice, "Mr. Harrington, I need to remind you of something."
"Go ahead."
Alexander turned to look at her, suppressing the urge to hit her, saying.
"Since you're already dating Ms. Bryant, then..."
"When did I start dating Ms. Bryant?"
Alexander suddenly leaned forward.
Victoria was so scared she leaned back against the seat, covering her chest with her hands and staring at him, not daring to blink.
"I'm asking you, when did I start dating her? Why don't I even know?"
"But you two were already like that in the office!"
It wasn't a question, it was a cautious reminder.
He had Daisy sitting on his lap, that was dating.
Otherwise, why would a man and a woman be like that?
Alexander said, "Like what?"
"She was sitting on your lap."
'If you don't admit to dating, then you are just playing with her.' Victoria thought.
Alexander suddenly questioned, "You even gave birth to my child, but you're not my woman."
Victoria was suddenly speechless.
She really loved him to the point of losing herself, she thought she was his woman.
All the awakening of an independent woman disappeared when she fell in love with him, drowned in his tenderness, once.
"I warn you, don't make me angry again, or else..."
Alexander's gaze fell on her soft lips, impulsively leaning closer.
