Chapter 851 Loving Someone Means Being Willing to Die for Her
The cozy little house was now quiet.
Alexander's tall figure stood inside, gently closing the door and looking up.
The living room was already empty, and his gaze was directly fixed on the master bedroom as he took long strides toward it.
The night breeze was still a bit chilly.
Victoria was in a daze. She felt a cool presence approaching her back and instinctively moved inward.
Alexander's eyes twinkled with amusement as he unconsciously planted a kiss on her cheek.
She murmured and moved further in.
Alexander followed, feeling that she was gentle and understanding, making his heart race.
Victoria quickly sensed something was off and suddenly woke up, opening her eyes.
"Alexander?"
"That's right."
When she murmured his name in doubt, his warm voice sounded in her ear.
Victoria looked up.
Although she couldn't see his face clearly in the dim light, she could already feel his presence.
Who else but him could sneak into this small apartment in the middle of the night without a sound?
Her neighbor was Eve, who had once detected a thief from over thirty feet away while abroad.
Victoria's heart was already pounding as she felt the warmth from behind, along with the changes in his body. Because Strawberry was beside her, she whispered, "You should leave; there's no room for you here."
"Is there no room for me?"
He whispered, his lips lightly brushing her ear, very seductive.
Victoria felt a tingling sensation all over her body. She placed her hand on his shoulder, intending to push him away, but he grabbed her wrist instead.
His eyes were fixed on her lips, and soon, a strong scent of hormones reached her lips.
"Alexander."
"I'm here."
He murmured and continued to kiss her.
Victoria was flustered until his phone suddenly rang.
Victoria stiffened, and she reached out to soothe Strawberry beside her while Alexander quickly moved away and grabbed his phone.
The ringtone was silenced, and Alexander glanced at Strawberry before looking at Victoria lying in the middle.
Victoria also looked at him, seemingly more nervous than he was.
Victoria was a bit unhappy and softly said, "Next time you're with Strawberry, remember to put your phone on silent."
"It's Diana."
Alexander said and then lay back down, gently hugging Victoria and Strawberry, and sent Diana a message asking what was up.
Diana replied, [Why didn't you answer the phone?]
[Strawberry is sleeping; you scared her.]
Diana was about to accuse him of being infatuated, but seeing that she had scared Strawberry, she immediately stopped.
She genuinely loved Strawberry.
The first time she saw Strawberry, she found her very adorable.
Alexander put down his phone, looked at Victoria, and softly asked, "Why is Strawberry sleeping here tonight?"
"Is it strange?"
"Not really."He murmured.
Victoria looked up at him, and Alexander smiled, gently kissing her forehead, then softly said, "It's just that it could have been the two of us here."
He held her a bit tighter.
Victoria's heart raced, but she sighed helplessly, "What happened a few days ago was an accident, you know that."
"So?"
"So it's in the past, and you should understand."
"Don't think I'm that smart; sometimes I'm just a pitiful man seeking affection."
Victoria closed her eyes slightly, thinking, 'You're not pitiful.'
She looked directly at Alexander again, "Can we talk outside?"
"Why?"
"Don't disturb Strawberry while she's resting."
Victoria just didn't want to tussle with him in bed.
Their bodies were so close that something dangerous could happen at any moment.
Alexander trusted her this time, found a coat to drape over her shoulders, and then carried her out of bed.
In the living room, Alexander still wanted to hold her in his arms. Victoria immediately reached out to push against his warm chest, "Alexander, let's talk properly, no physical contact, okay?"
"Can't I even hold my wife?"
"Your wife hasn't wanted you for a long time."
"Vicky."
Alexander's eyes suddenly showed both anger and grievance.
Victoria removed her hand from his chest, and Alexander sat beside her, sulking like a wronged boy.
"I just want a divorce; why is it so hard?"
"Instead of thinking about divorce, you might as well think about being widowed; it might be easier."
Victoria turned to look at him in disbelief.
'What did he mean by being widowed?'
'Alexander dared to say anything.'
She quickly lowered her head again, "You were the one who brought up divorce first. Why did you change your mind when I agreed?"
"Because you love me."
Victoria was completely taken aback by his remark.
"I don't love you anymore."
Victoria said seriously, trying to speak calmly.
Alexander looked at her intently but just smiled silently.
Victoria felt a tingling sensation all over as he gazed at her as if he had glimpsed into a part of her soul that she had never dared to explore.
'But why is he so sure I loved him?'
Victoria couldn't understand his view of love.
'Does he still think he had never loved Isabella?'
'Does he still think he had only ever loved her?'
'Does he even understand what love was?'
Victoria suddenly felt a bit worried.
She couldn't help but scrutinize Alexander, trying to discern from his eyes any sign that he understood what love truly meant.
Logically, given his age and experience, he should understand.
But her vision suddenly blurred, and his kiss was about to fall again. She shrank back, gently pressing her hand against his cool lips, "No."
"You didn't say that that night."
"Alexander."
Alexander's eyes narrowed, and he seemed troubled.
She seemed to be about to say something he didn't want to hear, something that would waste time.
"That night, I was drugged."
"But that doesn't mean what you said was false."
"It was false. When I said I loved you, I needed you. It’s just my body that craves you."
Victoria explained seriously.
"Ms. Kensington, are you planning to change careers and become a teacher?"
"Alexander."
He was about to kiss her again, and Victoria had to block his mouth once more.
Alexander just looked at her intently, not continuing.
Victoria looked at him with some difficulty and softly said, "I'll take my hand away, but you can't kiss me again."
"Okay."He agreed.
But as soon as she let go, he kissed her immediately.
Victoria's heart pounded, and she quickly pushed his shoulder away, looking at him angrily, "What are you doing? Do you even know what it means to love someone?"
"Then tell me, what does it mean to love someone?"
"To love someone is to be willing to die for her."
