Chapter 583 All Eyes Are on Her

"You go back to your car first, and I'll come find you later," Alexander said calmly, then slowly drove away.

"Okay." Isabella nodded repeatedly in agreement.

She reluctantly backed away as his car went inside, only returning to her own car after he had gone in.

The rain seemed to have gotten heavier, so Isabella quickly grabbed a towel to dry her hair, then looked for a makeup mirror to touch up her makeup and find some perfume.

She couldn't afford to look disheveled in front of Alexander.

---

"Mr. Harrington, you're back," said Mason.

"Yeah," Alexander responded, handing the snacks and his coat to Mason. "Put the snacks on a plate and take them to the living room."

"Yes, sir." Mason took the items and followed Alexander for a bit before leaving.

Alexander entered the living room.

At this moment, Victoria was playing chess with Brett, while the others watched from the side.

He heard a soft, girlish voice, "Grandpa, if I keep losing tonight, can I blame it on my injury affecting my brain?"

"That won't do, will it?" Brett seemed to disagree.

Eloise, Arabella, and Maximus couldn't help but laugh.

"Blame your husband instead." Eloise suggested.

Victoria turned to Eloise in confusion, "Grandma, he's not even here, why blame him?"

"Blame him for stealing your heart." Arabella teased.

Victoria's face turned bright red.

"We were just talking about you, and here you are." Maximus was the first to notice Alexander had returned.

"Just got back." Alexander walked forward, only raising his eyes when he sat down, staring directly at the woman playing chess diagonally across from him.

'Has he really stolen my heart?' Victoria thought.

She didn't dare look at him, pretending to focus on the game.

Brett was also very serious, reminding him, "Just sit quietly there and don't disturb us."

Alexander sat quietly, not because he was obedient, but because he wanted to see when Victoria, sitting next to Brett, would finally acknowledge him.

When Eloise mentioned blaming him, Victoria refuted it. More importantly, Eloise had referred to him as her husband, and she seemed quite accustomed to that title.

Alexander recalled the few times she had called him "darling," and his heart felt like it had a worm wriggling inside it. It was an uncomfortable feeling, but he couldn't bear to remove that worm.

A few minutes later, Erica came in with the snacks he had bought, which were actually various flavored desserts.

"What flavor is this? It's awful." Arabella almost handed the dessert to Maximus after taking a bite, but remembering her in-laws were present, she quietly took it back.

"It's really bad. Let me try." Maximus easily took the dessert from her hand.

Indeed, they weren't sweet at all and had a strange taste.

Brett and Eloise also tried a piece, and Eloise's eyes lit up with surprise, "Mine is sweet; it's delicious."

"Why is mine bitter?" Brett frowned.

Eloise immediately looked at the dark piece in his hand and said, "I won't taste that for you."

She could see through Maximus's actions at a glance. She approved of men pampering their wives and wives pampering their husbands, but she wouldn't eat another bite of something that tasted bad.

Victoria picked a light yellow piece, thinking it might be pineapple, mango, or peach flavored, but...

Alexander couldn't guess her preference from her puzzled expression, worried she wouldn't like it, so he also leaned over to take a piece like hers.

It was said that these were made from local specialties without any other ingredients. Alexander thought it might be some kind of sweet potato.

Victoria quietly finished the piece in her hand, and Eloise curiously asked her, "Victoria, what flavor did you get?"

"Probably sweet potato," Victoria answered seriously.

"Sweet potato?" Eloise was skeptical, then picked up a piece to try and suddenly said, "Now I know what yours is."

"What?" Brett was skeptical.

"Black bean?" Eloise replied.

Upon hearing that, everyone couldn't help but laugh within half a minute.

Brett couldn't accept it and couldn't help but ask his grandson, "What did you buy?"

Everyone laughed even harder.

Alexander, however, just kept staring at Victoria diagonally across from him.

How he wished she were sitting next to him.

Victoria's hands looked especially beautiful tonight, no, she was extraordinarily gentle tonight.

Alexander just watched her quietly, not knowing why he suddenly felt a bit sour in his heart.

She smiled so beautifully but wouldn't look at him, not even for a second.

Half an hour later, the elders used the excuse that Victoria should rest early to send her out of the living room.

Alexander sat there, and the elders remained silent as if they hadn't noticed him.

After a few minutes, Brett finally couldn't stand it. "Get out of here."

Hearing that, Alexander quickly got up and almost ran out with his long legs.

"Look at how eager he is." Arabella couldn't help but mutter as she watched him run out impatiently.

"If he were always so considerate, it would be great," Eloise commented.

He brought snacks for his wife from a business trip. Regardless of the taste, the thought really mattered.

"Since he sat down, he hasn't looked at anyone else, his eyes are glued to Victoria."

Brett couldn't help but tease.

Maximus was more composed and gentle, saying, "He's young and full of vigor."

"You seem to know a lot. Guess when he'll give me a great-grandchild?" Eloise couldn't help but tease.

Arabella quietly ate the snacks Alexander brought back, suddenly finding them not so bad. She felt like laughing.

Maximus was embarrassed but maintained his composure, "Don't worry. They're about to have their wedding."

"You better hurry up and remind your precious son not to mess up again. If my granddaughter-in-law runs away again, I won't be able to stand the sight of either of you." Eloise continued.

When Maximus and Brett heard that, their hearts skipped a beat.

---

When Alexander got upstairs, he slowed his pace, thinking about seeing Victoria soon without anyone else around. He felt like a child, eager and impatient. But he had to calm down.

After all, he wasn't a child anymore.

He gently pushed the door open, only to find the room was empty. His heart immediately tightened, and his expression grew serious.

Just as he was about to leave, he heard some noise inside.

Victoria was washing up.

Alexander quietly sighed in relief and entered the room.

But just thinking about her taking a shower made his mind wander, and his body heated up.

When Victoria came out of the shower, she saw Alexander, wearing pajamas, sitting on the bed.

She had just occupied the bathroom, so she wondered where he was showering

Seeing her puzzled look, Alexander explained seriously, "I showered in the guest room."
