Chapter 1030 Are You Going to Arrest Someone
Alexander strode into the room with his long legs, and Alfred took his coat at the door, following him inside. "Mrs. Eloise Harrington is here. She knows about what happened today."
"Yeah, I know," Alexander replied nonchalantly, walking briskly towards the interior.
"Grandma, what brings you here?"
"Alexander, I'm telling you, if you can't take good care of Victoria, just say the word. I'll take her away tonight."
Alexander hadn't expected that in the mere two hours he was gone, he would almost lose Victoria.
Sitting on the nearby sofa, he glanced at the somewhat uneasy Victoria before saying, "Grandma, today was truly an accident. I've thought a lot about it and promised Victoria it won't happen again."
"And what if it does happen again?"
"Then you can take her away."
Alexander fiddled with the ring on his finger, his eyes fixed intently on Victoria.
Victoria was startled by his words, feeling a bit panicked.
She didn't want to leave. It was just a little scare; she could handle it. She wanted to speak but didn't know how to start, so she continued to listen carefully.
"Alexander, you said it."
"I did, but Victoria has to agree too."
Alexander suddenly smiled.
"You think Victoria can't bear to leave you, don't you?"
Eloise glanced at him.
Victoria felt a bit embarrassed and uneasy.
What did it mean that she couldn't bear to leave Alexander?
Did everyone know she couldn't leave him?
If she was the person everyone talked about, was she always clinging to him?
She became even more nervous; she didn't want to be that kind of person, she didn't want him to annoy her.
No wonder she was kidnapped, lost her memory, and couldn't see. It must be because she was too clingy, and he drove her away.
Did he find her out of guilt?
Even if she was clingy, it shouldn't be a big mistake, right?
Alexander couldn't bear to see her like this anymore, so he got up and sat beside her.
Eloise held one of her hands, and he held the other, looking at her seriously. "I was joking with Grandma. She won't take you away from me. Even if she wanted to, I wouldn't let her."
His voice was deep and reassuring.
Victoria felt slightly relieved and silently held onto his hand.
Alexander looked down at her hand holding his, feeling a warmth in his heart. "I won't let go, even if I die."
He whispered in her ear, his eyes looking at the person who had just entered.
It was Frank.
"Mr. Harrington, the results are in."
"What results?"
Eloise was curious when she saw Frank and immediately guessed it was about the incident earlier.
"Just say it."
"The package was indeed sent from Ankenra City, from a local courier company. A girl delivered the package."
Frank said, handing over the photo captured by the surveillance camera.
Eloise naturally leaned in to look, then asked, "Who is this?"
Alexander held the photo Frank had developed, but couldn't guess who it was.
"I know this girl."
Frank hesitated, unsure if he should mention Daisy in front of Victoria, so he stopped.
Eloise looked up at him. "Why'd you stop?"
"Go on."
Alexander quickly sensed his hesitation and commanded.
"She once went to a café with Daisy."
Frank, given Alexander's permission, explained seriously.
Alexander's expression instantly turned cold.
Eloise frowned even more. "Daisy again?"
Why was it always Daisy?
Did Daisy just fail to win Alexander's heart?
Why send a dead pigeon to her, locked in a cage?
Victoria couldn't understand why a girl would harbor such malice towards another girl.
She instinctively grabbed Alexander's hand with her other hand, feeling inexplicably aggrieved.
Alexander saw her expression and gently reassured her, "Don't worry, she can't hurt you."
Victoria nodded at him.
"Should we arrest her?"
Frank asked for instructions.
"Of course, we need to question her thoroughly. But we already know Daisy is behind this. Daisy used such a vicious method to scare Victoria. What is she thinking? Does she think she can get away with it because she's pregnant?"
"Handle it."
Alexander spoke calmly after hearing Eloise's words.
Frank nodded.
"It must be handled properly."
Eloise ordered firmly.
"Yes, Mrs. Eloise Harrington, rest assured."
Frank was skilled in dealing with people and needed Eloise's satisfaction.
The important thing was, Daisy had repeatedly provoked Victoria, and he had tolerated it, but this time, he couldn't anymore.
So Daisy's prank was nothing compared to what he would show her.
After dinner, Eloise stayed in the room prepared for her to rest.
Alexander carried Victoria back to their room, placing her on the bed and kneeling in front of her. "Are you tired?"
Victoria shook her head slowly.
Alexander held her hand and kissed it lightly. "I'll go run a bath for you. The doctor said soaking in hot water is good for your body."
Victoria didn't respond, and he got up, kissed her forehead, and left.
Victoria sat silently on the edge of the bed, her hands resting on the bed, her back slightly hunched, head lowered.
The bed was soft and warm, and it felt really good.
Was he going to have Frank deal with Daisy?
Daisy had been beaten for her words.
Victoria buried her head low, trying to stop herself from overthinking.
It was hard to escape such a dark place, and if she kept overthinking, what would happen?
Victoria suppressed her urge to overthink, warning herself repeatedly to stay calm.
His phone rang again, the bathroom door was open, and she heard him and his phone approaching her.
Victoria suddenly thought of Frank investigating the person who sent the dead pigeon, and couldn't help but listen carefully.
He came to her side, already helping her unbutton her shirt. Victoria instinctively dodged a bit.
She wanted him to finish his call first.
Alexander answered the call, tossed the phone aside, and continued unbuttoning her shirt.
"Mr. Harrington, the other party said it wasn't Daisy's doing, it has nothing to do with Daisy."
