Chapter 628 Proactively Exposing the Scandal

"You stay here with your husband, and I'll be leaving now," Eloise said.

As everyone else departed, Victoria intended to accompany Eloise. However, Alexander grasped her hand firmly, leading the office. "Where are you going?"

"I'm taking Grandma back," Victoria replied, not daring to look up at him.

Alexander looked at her. "You promised to spend time with me these days."

"Aren't I with you every day?"

"Being by my side all the time counts."

Alexander gently kissed her hand and then looked straight at her.

Victoria couldn't resist stealing a glance at him, but his gaze was so intense that she quickly averted her eyes and looked down once more.

Aware of her shyness, Alexander tenderly brushed his fingers through her long hair as he inquired, "What is this about Grandma saying you're pregnant?"

"She must have said that on purpose because she saw Daisy."

Victoria thought about it and figured that must be the case.

"Alright," Alexander agreed, still looking straight at her.

Victoria felt uncomfortable under his gaze. "I just remembered I have something to do, I..."

"You're staying here with me today." Alexander suddenly leaned in close, his voice gentle but undeniably commanding.

Victoria silently glanced at him, watching his face get closer until she could only see his thin lips. He kissed her.

Their lips met in a gentle and lingering kiss, causing Victoria's heart to tighten with emotion. Her hands instinctively found their place on his arms as she surrendered herself to the intoxicating embrace of their kiss, feeling herself becoming more and more entranced by him.

Soon, he couldn't help but murmur, "Baby, you taste so sweet." Then, he kissed her again more forcefully.

Victoria also felt the sweetness, as if even her saliva was sweet. But she could never keep up with his deep kisses.

Gradually, she was kissed into a daze, her legs suddenly going weak.

Alexander's large hand encircled her slender waist as he looked at her with a teasing and seductive gaze. "Can't handle it already?"

"Jerk."

Victoria didn't dare look at him, feeling both shy and annoyed.

Alexander couldn't help but laugh, then kissed her again.

After they made love, he quickly discovered her weaknesses.

She didn't say she loved him, but her reactions showed she was lying.

Thinking this, Alexander kissed her even more passionately.

Later, Victoria stayed in the lounge and didn't come out. He had a meeting, one of those hours-long meetings.

She lay on the bed and fell asleep, dreaming of her deceased parents.

They asked her if she was happy now. She shyly nodded after a few seconds.

"Sweetheart, take good care of your marriage. We will always be your strongest support. We love you."

"Mom? I love you too. Mom, Dad, where are you going? Don't leave."

In her dream, her parents still left, and she couldn't catch up no matter how hard she tried.

As Victoria gradually awakened, she sensed a gentle hand caressing her face. Unable to resist, she softly murmured, "Mom."

Alexander lay quietly beside her, looking at the tear stains at the corner of her eyes, his gaze gradually becoming sad.

Victoria's eyes fluttered open, and a pang of bereavement washed over her upon seeing him by her side. However, as she gazed into his calm eyes, a wave of reassurance swept over her, prompting her to nestle snugly into his arms.

Alexander gently stroked the back of her head, kissed her long hair, and murmured, "How about I take you to see your parents tomorrow?"

"Okay," she replied in a hoarse voice.

Alexander hugged her tighter.

Of course, she missed her parents. She was only twenty-four years old.

Alexander suddenly felt a sharp pang of sadness and held her even closer.

Victoria suddenly looked up from his arms. "What about the cemetery relocation you mentioned last time?"

"Dummy." Alexander looked at her with a mix of affection and pity, speaking softly.

Victoria looked at him with puzzled eyes. "What do you mean?"

She even had the thought that he was just trying to scare her into coming to him and that he never really intended to develop that cemetery.

And indeed, that was the case.

Alexander held her and murmured, "Never leave me."

Victoria actually liked it when he said things like that; it made her feel like he really needed her.

That feeling of being needed gave her a sense of security.

But she didn't know why she always felt uneasy. Was it because of the past, or were there really thorns waiting for them ahead?

Victoria thought Alexander's heart was only for her. But now, she didn't even dare to think that.

It felt like a luxury, a luxury that would fall through. But she still held him tightly.

When their eyes met, Alexander couldn't help but kiss her again, and Victoria accepted everything he gave.

He murmured, "Do you love me?"

Both of them were naked, and in the heat of the moment, he couldn't help but ask.

Victoria's heart pounded, and she struggled to breathe, but she could only hold him tighter and kiss him proactively.

Saying "I love you" was too dangerous; this was better.

She really liked the feeling of making love with him. In each passionate encounter, she felt cherished.

His dominance, his gentleness, his impatience, and restraint were all displayed vividly.

——

The next morning, a video of Victoria leaving the Harrington Group office building was posted online. In the video, her cheerful steps and uncontrollable smile were described as newlywed happiness.

After reading the gossip headlines, Isabella couldn't resist mocking the situation. She promptly contacted the head of the media company and exclaimed, "How did you guys even publish this kind of news? Happy? Alexander clearly hates her so much he doesn't want to go home. Victoria begged him to come home but was rejected."

"Yesterday, Mrs. Harrington went into the Harrington Group office building. Our people saw it with their own eyes. If she was rejected, she wouldn't have stayed so long, and she wouldn't have been so happy."

"Happy? Who can't fake happiness?" Isabella questioned, then immediately hung up.

Naomi walked into her ward. "I advise you to give up fighting Victoria for Alexander and focus on competing with Arthur for the Montgomery Group's heir position."

"What right does he have to compete with me?" Isabella retorted, then heard a commotion outside.

Naomi quickly went to check and grabbed a doctor. "What's going on?"

"A car accident, a very young boy, a rib pierced into a piece of glass, bleeding profusely."

The doctor said as he rushed out.

Naomi quickly frowned and looked inside.

"Is it Arthur?"

"How would I know?" Isabella said, then touched her ribs. "I should be discharged. Please help me with the discharge procedures."

"Alright." Naomi didn't know what Isabella was up to.

But she also hated Faye and Arthur.

Reflecting on how Faye, whom she had always regarded as a close friend, had betrayed her by seducing her husband and bearing his child, Victoria found it difficult to accept. The pain and betrayal cut deep.

After handling the discharge, Isabella immediately drove to VicLiv's office.

Victoria and Olivia were discussing something when they suddenly heard the door being forcefully pushed open from the outside.

Isabella stood at the door, looking fierce.

However, her face was actually very pale, so she couldn't intimidate them.

"I want to expose the video of my father forcing women to sleep with him."

Victoria and Olivia exchanged glances. Olivia had a bad feeling, but Victoria quickly and calmly asked, "Did you bring the video? Let's take a look first."
