Chapter 762 Don't Pinch Her Face
"Okay," Victoria mumbled, then went quiet, absentmindedly placing her hand on her lower abdomen.
In her head, she wondered, 'Alexander, did you stop because of these scars? Are they that bad?'
But then he hugged her from behind, one hand against the wall, letting the warm shower water cascade over them. Victoria was confused but didn't dare move.
His breath, unlike the warm water, lightly brushed her neck, making her shiver. She didn't know how long it lasted, but eventually, the tension in the air faded.
Worried she might catch a cold, Alexander quickly washed her off and grabbed a big towel. Victoria just stood there, letting him dry her off and wrap her up tightly.
He then easily lifted her into his arms, prompting Victoria to stare at him, puzzled and silent. After setting her on the sink, Alexander turned on the hairdryer and carefully dried her hair. Despite her hair being shorter now, he could finally play with it again.
Victoria lowered her head, letting his fingers run through her short hair until he finished drying it. Once he was done, Alexander grabbed a clean towel, gently held her feet, and placed them on it. "Wait here for me," he said in a deep voice.
Victoria looked at him but didn't move; she didn't have the energy to argue. She simply watched him, feeling a mix of emotions.
Alexander was only shirtless, but even that was enough to drive someone crazy. He was still as fit as ever, making her want to touch him.
At that moment, though, she just sat on the sink, her chin resting on her knees, silently observing him as he undressed. The shock of being with her ex-husband after the divorce was still too much to handle.
Alexander quickly washed himself, glancing at Victoria as he grabbed a towel. She realized she had been caught staring and immediately looked away.
He shook the towel before wrapping it around his waist and coming back to her. He didn't say anything, but his presence filled the small space.
The noise from the hairdryer filled the air, masking the sound of Victoria's rapid heartbeat. She lowered her eyes but could still see his abs, making her bury her face even lower into her knees.
But by doing so, she could smell his strong pheromones, and Victoria felt like she was going crazy. How could she feel this way about her ex-husband?
Alexander's eyes locked on her, deliberately getting closer. He dried his hair in a minute, casually tousled it, then picked her up from the sink. "Let's go back to bed," he said.
"Alexander," Victoria began.
"What?"
"Can you go back to your home?" she asked hesitantly.
"Why?"
"My bed is too small and uncomfortable," she explained. "My back hurts a lot; I don't like having someone next to me when I sleep." Her voice was barely above a whisper, and she didn't dare look up even as he placed her gently on the bed.
Alexander looked at her unhappily, hating that she was pushing him away but feeling helpless. He went to the closet to find clothes and said, "I drank tonight; it's not safe for me to drive."
"Then Leander..."
"He left early, didn't you see?"
She really hadn't seen; she was too busy thinking about how to get rid of him.
Alexander found some pajamas to wear. As he dressed, Victoria looked up and couldn't help but ask, "When did you bring these?"
"A few days ago."
Alexander thought she must be blind. When he had the house redone, he had someone bring them, and not just one set. The closet was so small, but how could she not have noticed?
Victoria didn't have many clothes, all tucked away in the inner closet. She rarely used this one, so she hadn't noticed the men's clothes inside.
She instinctively glanced at the closet again, and when she saw it full of men's clothes, she couldn't help but frown. The two sections had pajamas and daily clothes neatly separated, and the small basket below had his neatly folded underwear and tank tops.
She hadn't noticed at all.
Alexander was still unhappy, reminding her as he got into bed and covered himself, "Please be more attentive and know what's in your own home."
"I know my house," Victoria retorted, "I just don't understand why you put your stuff here."
A man, putting his clothes in his ex-wife's house. What was this?
Annoyed, Victoria wanted to kick him, but seeing his firm chest, even under his clothes, she could only sulk. She turned angrily and lay down too quickly, accidentally twisting her back.
Alexander turned to look at her, then at the spot she was holding, immediately moving closer, his strong hand taking over the painful area. "Does it hurt here?"
"Get lost."
"Is it here that hurts?"
"Alexander, don't touch me, go away."
"Watch your tone," Alexander's deep voice threatened. "I might not be able to hold back."
Victoria glared at him, but Alexander remained calm, massaging her gently. He leaned in and planted a firm kiss on her lips. He didn't go further, knowing that if he did, it would be hard to stop.
Victoria closed her mouth tightly, glaring at him with red eyes for a few seconds before turning her back to him again. He always knew how to get under her skin.
They were clearly separate individuals now, but he still clung to her like this. He always claimed it was for Strawberry—well, then he should go sleep with Strawberry. What was he doing in her bed?
"Tori," Alexander suddenly called her softly in the dark.
Victoria's long lashes fluttered, but she didn't move or make a sound.
He then murmured, "Good night."
Victoria couldn't make a sound, only feeling something wet at the corner of her eye.
The wind outside was blowing fiercely, but the bed was much warmer with an extra man.
The next day, it was snowing lightly, and a sudden urgent doorbell rang.
Victoria climbed out of bed, groggily getting up to open the door. "Who is it?"
"Good morning, Ms. Kensington, I brought you breakfast."
It was Daisy.
Victoria finally opened her eyes, blinking in surprise.
Her short hair was messy, her eyelids were swollen, and she looked very pale, except...
Daisy's smile faded as she noticed the marks. Alexander's voice suddenly came from inside, "Who is it? So early?"
Daisy became even more nervous.
"Mr. Harrington, should I hold Strawberry?" Eve also emerged from the kitchen, standing behind him and looking curiously at the door.
Alexander, holding Strawberry, stood behind Victoria, his face instantly turning cold.
"Alex, are you here to see Strawberry so early? Strawberry is getting cuter and cuter," Daisy said, noticing Alexander was neatly dressed. She sighed in relief, handed the breakfast to Victoria, and squeezed past her to see Strawberry.
Victoria instinctively held the breakfast, feeling its warmth. She moved it away from her chest and then turned to look.
Daisy pinched Strawberry's cheek and said with a slight smile, "Her cheeks are so soft."
Victoria immediately said coldly, "Don't pinch her cheeks."
