Chapter 619 She Smelled a Familiar Perfume
Alexander went to the club.
Benjamin was sulking in their private room, drinking. When Alexander walked in, Benjamin immediately perked up and asked, "Didn't you say you weren't coming out tonight?"
Alexander remained silent, positioning himself by the liquor cabinet. Retrieving his preferred bottle, he opened it, poured a glass, and swiftly consumed its contents in a single gulp.
"Did you guys have a fight? Why?" Benjamin couldn't guess what they were fighting about. After all, their reunion after a short separation should be as sweet as a honeymoon.
Alexander put down his glass and continued standing there.
Couldn't Victoria see his concern? Couldn't she see that he loved someone else?
She always held back, and she held back too much.
As the door was knocked again, Alexander didn't turn around.
Benjamin frowned. "Why are you here?"
"I was bored drinking alone, heard you guys were here." Isabella shrugged playfully and then walked in.
"When did Alexander get here? Weren't you supposed to be at home with Victoria?" Isabella started chatting naturally after sitting down next to Benjamin.
Alexander glanced at her after hearing this. She acted too naturally.
But Isabella's acting was actually quite poor.
At first glance, it seemed natural, but upon closer inspection, he could see the flaws.
Without uttering a word, Alexander walked over to the seat, took a seat, and locked eyes with her from across Benjamin.
Under his intense gaze, Isabella felt a sense of unease, yet she managed to force a smile and inquire, "Why are you looking at me like that? Don't tell me you still have feelings for me?"
Benjamin frowned and also turned to look at Alexander.
However, he didn't see any affection in Alexander's eyes except for a hint of murderous intention.
He heard that Victoria was hurt. Could it be...
Benjamin frowned and looked at Isabella, his expression also turning sour.
---
Victoria was still tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.
She couldn't figure out what was wrong with Alexander all of a sudden.
What was he angry about?
The moment she saw him when she came back, she...
When Frank called Alexander after her accident, she was afraid Alexander would worry about her. She did so much to reassure him, and when she came back, she greeted him with a smile, but what about Alexander?
Even the elders suspected her injury wasn't an accident.
Victoria stared at the ceiling light, feeling stifled.
She pressed her wrist against her eyes, gradually relieving the burning sensation in her eyes.
What was wrong with him?
In the dim light, she turned over and finally couldn't help but sigh in frustration.
Those days, he video-called her every day, saying he wanted to see her immediately. She came back, and then he just left her alone.
She wore a sexy nightgown after her shower. Didn't he get what she meant?
Victoria thought Alexander was really terrible.
When they made love, he kept calling her "baby"!
She knew he would get tired of her.
But how could he get tired of her in such a short time?
Alexander sure moved on quickly.
The more Victoria thought about it, the stronger her anger grew.. She pulled the covers over her head, deciding she wouldn't wait for him anymore.
But it was past 11 PM, and she still couldn't sleep.
She felt he should come back tonight, but why wasn't he back yet?
When she saw a beam of light approaching the window, she immediately got out of bed barefoot to check.
Thinking that it might be Alexander's car, Victoria swiftly leaped back into bed.
Accidentally, she touched the wound on her collarbone, and it hurt a bit.
But she didn't care. She covered herself with the blanket, her heart racing. She pressed her hand against her chest, trying to calm down, hoping she would be calm and pretend to be asleep when he walked in.
She had an ungrateful thought at that moment.
As long as Alexander came back, it wouldn't be a big problem.
She closed her eyes, trying to relax, and started thinking about what went wrong.
The bedroom door was pushed open lightly from the outside. Alexander walked in, quickly reaching the bedside. She looked like she was asleep, lying on her side. He sat on the edge of the bed, silently watching her.
After a while, he couldn't help but reach out to touch her face, but his hand stopped in mid-air. His hand was a bit cold.
He pulled his hand back and continued to watch her silently.
Victoria, lying in bed, turned over and continued to pretend to sleep.
Alexander got up and walked to the bathroom.
After he left, Victoria slowly opened her eyes.
That strong perfume smell...
He went to see Isabella.
Victoria felt a surge of anger and sat up immediately.
She had been tossing and turning unable to sleep, yet Alexander went to see Isabella? She turned to look at the bathroom, her eyes filled with frustration.
When Alexander came out of the bathroom, Victoria was no longer in bed.
He stood by the bed, his eyes narrowing.
She wasn't asleep just now?
Alexander was puzzled and wanted to call her, but her phone was on the bedside table.
Alexander sat by the bed for three minutes, then got up.
Victoria regretted not bringing her phone, but she wasn't going back.
She lay down in a nursery.
The bed was small, but she was petite, so it was enough.
Victoria looked at the crib in the middle, turned over in frustration, and quickly fell asleep.
When she didn't have unrealistic expectations of Alexander and didn't blame herself, it seemed easier to fall asleep.
Alexander saw her again the next morning.
When he opened the door, they locked eyes across a few doors.
Victoria yawned and pretended not to care as she walked forward after seeing him.
Alexander stood at the door, silently watching her. When he saw she was going downstairs, he immediately straightened up and walked towards her, "Hey."
Victoria ignored him.
Alexander took off his robe, which he had just put on that morning, and quickly walked over to her, wrapping her in it and picking her up.
"What are you doing? Are you crazy, going down like this?" Victoria said.
"I think you need a good talking to." Alexander was furious.
Her two bare, slender legs, like they had just been soaked in a milk bath. How could he let anyone else see them?
Victoria was being carried by him, her hands wrapped in his robe, unable to struggle. Only her two slender legs weren't fully covered, and she deliberately kicked the fabric aside and wiggled them.
Her shoes flew off her feet and hit the floor, and she finally settled down.
Alexander ignored the shoes, suppressing his anger as he quickly carried her back to the bedroom.
Victoria was placed on the bed and immediately rolled to the other side, trying to run. But then her phone rang.
It was hers.
She recognized it immediately.
Alexander was actually scared to death just now, worried she would run away again.
But now, he just picked up Victoria's phone and slowly walked towards her.
Victoria took a few steps back, her legs a bit weak, but she had to muster her courage and said, "Give it back to me."
