Chapter 425 At Least Half an Hour
Victoria was flipping through old photos a few days ago and found Olivia in a childhood group photo.
It turned out they used to be little sisters who could hold hands.
Before leaving work, Janaye asked her, "Victoria, do you find Alexander strange today?"
"Why?" Victoria was puzzled.
"He didn't come to work in the afternoon and didn't call you," Janaye replied.
"He doesn't have any other work arrangements today. What's wrong?" Victoria asked.
"Aren't you curious? He usually stays with you until after work," Janaye said.
In October, the wind was a bit strong.
After her period, she felt refreshed. Victoria carried her bag and left work with Janaye, then said, "Goodbye."
When Victoria got into Olivia's car, Olivia asked Victoria, "Can you accompany me to buy some clothes first?"
"Sure," Victoria agreed without any defenses.
Olivia's car stopped in front of a luxury store, and several staff members immediately welcomed them. "Ms. Baker, welcome."
"Thank you. This is Mrs. Harrington," Olivia said, linking arms with Victoria as they walked in.
"Hello, Mrs. Harrington." Everyone bowed in unison, creating a ceremonial atmosphere.
Victoria nodded slightly. She had been to such occasions frequently in the past two years and had gotten used to it.
Then the store door closed, leaving only the two of them inside, trying on clothes like crazy.
Of course, it is not just Olivia.
Olivia said, "What's the point of being alone? Hurry up and find your Alexander to pay."
"I can manage. No need to ask him," Victoria replied, taking the clothes Olivia handed her into the fitting room.
Victoria had saved some money over the years, and her parents also left her a lot of money. She hadn't decided how to use it yet. There was a natural disaster before, and she donated some. The rest...
She thought she could keep it. When she had children in the future, she would use that money for them, telling them their grandparents left it.
Victoria felt like she was going crazy thinking about having children at this moment.
Whenever Victoria tried on clothes, Olivia had them wrapped and sent to their home.
But later, Olivia took out a deep blue ankle-length blue gown and said, "Try this on."
"Why?" Victoria asked.
"Go on, and I'll try on this light yellow gown," Olivia replied.
The two gowns were not the same, but they were similar, with one shoulder exposed.
After changing gowns, someone came to do their makeup. Victoria couldn't help but ask, "Olivia, isn't it a bit much for just dinner?"
"Two beautiful women going out should be eye-catching. We must captivate all the men in the restaurant tonight," Olivia said.
Victoria felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint what it was.
She remembered Olivia taking her to a party for her birthday, but that was a birthday party. There was no occasion now, so she assumed it was just dinner and drinks. After all, sometimes women like to dress up for a night out.
The two of them were at the Old Town Tavern. Olivia couldn't help but light a cigarette and asked her, "Do you want one?"
Victoria shook her head. Having tried but finding the smoke too harsh, she eventually gave up.
Olivia took a puff of the cigarette and scratched her head, saying, "I've encountered some trouble recently."
"What trouble?" Victoria asked.
"A man wants to pursue me," Olivia replied.
"What?" Victoria was stunned.
"But he's a bit fickle," Olivia added.
"Is he someone I know?" Victoria asked.
"Of course, his last name is Sinclair," Olivia replied.
"Edward?" Victoria immediately guessed who this person was.
Olivia raised her glass to toast, and Victoria raised hers as well. Olivia drank hers in one gulp and raised her chin to remind Victoria to do the same.
Feeling troubled, Victoria thought she should accompany her, so she also downed a glass.
"When I was a child, I took a bath in his bathtub. I was five or six then, can't remember exactly. Honestly, I think his short stature shouldn't be that great," Olivia said.
"Is Mr. Sinclair still short?" Victoria asked.
Victoria thought of Edward's usual appearance. He was at least 6 feet tall.
"I don't mean his height. Some men can be tall but lack in other areas," Olivia said.
Victoria didn't know why, but she felt her thoughts were becoming more and more daring.
"What about Alexander? I think he should last at least half an hour, right?" Olivia asked.
