Chapter 642 I Won't Let Her Give Birth to Alexander's Child
"Congratulations to you too." Alexander turned to look at Victoria, his eyes brimming with joy.
Victoria was carrying his child.
When Alexander looked at her again, he even felt that she was glowing.
Seeing her sitting on the ground, he immediately picked her up. "You are not allowed to sit on the ground anymore."
"Are you ordering me?" Victoria asked, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Yes."
"I'm pregnant and you're still ordering me around?"
"I'm doing this for your own good. The ground is cold in winter," Alexander patiently explained.
Victoria looked at him and said nothing more. At this moment, her heart was racing.
She was nervous and excited.
She didn't know how to describe her feelings.
After they finished showering and lay in bed, Alexander immediately pressed down on her, "Relax."
"Honey, can pregnant women have sex?" Victoria asked him, trying to calm her thunderous heartbeat.
Alexander looked at her and frowned. "What are you trying to say?"
"You need to behave yourself lately," Victoria gently reminded him.
Alexander's frown deepened, and he looked at her seriously, "No sex? Then can we still kiss?"
A buzzing sound filled Victoria's mind, and her head went blank with heat.
Alexander quickly kissed her on her lips.
If he couldn't kiss her, his life would be boring and meaningless.
This was an exciting night for both of them.
Alexander suddenly sat up and said, "Call my mom."
"Calling her this late?"
"It's not late," Alexander said as he picked up the phone and called Arabella.
He put it on speaker, and Victoria sat next to him, staring at the phone together.
"Why are you calling in the middle of the night? Did you get into trouble again?" The voice on the other end sounded a bit annoyed.
"Yes."
"What? What did you do to Victoria this time?"
"She's pregnant."
Without any preamble, those simple words immediately lit up the Harrington Mansion.
"Listen up," Arabella said, her voice tinged with urgency. "You'd better keep yourself in check. And make sure Victoria does too. I'm going to make a list of things for you. If anything happens to my daughter-in-law or my grandchild, I swear I'll make you regret it."
Just then, they heard an excited shout from the other room, "Mom, Dad, Victoria's pregnant! Victoria's really pregnant!"
"What? Who's pregnant?"
Eloise and Brett jolted up, momentarily stunned. But it didn't take long before tears of joy started streaming down their faces.
"Yes, it's Victoria," Arabella said, her voice breaking as tears began to flow.
They had been waiting for this day for so long.
With Alexander and Victoria's relationship often unstable, the elders had been deeply concerned. Hearing that Victoria was expecting brought a profound sense of relief and fulfillment.
Sitting on the bed, Alexander and Victoria listened to the ecstatic voices on the phone, unable to suppress their smiles.
Victoria found herself crying for no apparent reason. It was as if the emotions she'd been holding back all night finally had a chance to surface now that she was officially pregnant.
The next morning, a light drizzle fell outside.
Victoria slowly opened her eyes, feeling like she was still in a dream.
Alexander lay beside her, holding another unused pregnancy test. He had already washed up and was dressed in a crisp white shirt and neatly pressed trousers.
As she fully took him in, she murmured, "Good morning."
"Morning," Alexander replied in his deep voice, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on her forehead.
That kiss was priceless.
He was kissing his one true love, his precious one.
This girl, who seemed so delicate and stubborn, was carrying his child.
Their marriage felt more profound, sacred, and inseparable than ever.
He knew, from now on, he couldn't imagine life without her.
Victoria, however, felt a twinge of anxiety because he was still holding the pregnancy test.
"Do we need to test again?"
Victoria's heart fluttered with uncertainty.
She thought, 'What if last night has all been a dream?'
"Yes, testing in the morning is usually more accurate," Alexander agreed, though he was already confident she was pregnant.
After all, she had been sleeping more and had a poor appetite recently. He'd spent the night reading up on what to expect during pregnancy.
He was determined to take good care of her during this time. Pregnant women shouldn't get upset easily, so he needed to be careful about how he spoke to her.
The thought of having a valid reason to pamper her only brightened his mood.
Victoria went to the bathroom again, and the test still showed two lines.
But when she emerged, she was stunned to find her mother-in-law and Eloise waiting outside the bathroom door.
"Grandma, Mom, what are you doing here?"
"Tell us the results first," Arabella urged, her eyes wide with anticipation.
"The result is, I'm going to be a mom," Victoria said, her voice trembling with emotion as she struggled to keep it steady.
Eloise, her face alight with excitement, covered her mouth and then opened her arms wide. "Sweetheart, I'm so thrilled! Congratulations on becoming a mom!"
"Thank you, Grandma," Victoria said, hugging Eloise, feeling a wave of happiness she couldn't quite explain.
Arabella joined them, her tone was serious but warm. "From now on, we're going to have a more professional chef here. And you'll need to let us visit you often."
The three women embraced, a circle of joy and support.
Alexander stood in the doorway, quietly observing. His eyes, though masked with a semblance of calm, betrayed his immense joy.
Seeing these three women together, he felt somewhat like an outsider. Yet, even just standing there, watching Victoria's back, was enough for him.
Alexander felt a profound sense of contentment. Last night's anxiety had melted away, replaced by a firm belief in their future together.
Things were only going to get better from here on out.
That night, Isabella sat on her bed, feeling as if her soul had been drained. Suddenly, everything around her seemed shrouded in darkness.
She had learned the news via Facebook, which had taken several rounds before reaching her. Olivia had posted that her baby would have a companion, which then evolved into the news that Alexander and Victoria were expecting a child.
Originally, the Harrington family had intended to keep it quiet.
Her mother, Naomi, found Isabella lost in thought and asked, "What's wrong now?"
"She's pregnant," Isabella said abruptly.
"Who's pregnant?" Naomi's face tightened with concern as she asked.
"Victoria."
Isabella let out a bitter laugh and continued, "That baby won't be born. I won't let her have Alexander's child. She thinks having this baby will secure her position as the lady of the Harrington Group, but I won't let her get her way."
"What are you going to do?" Naomi asked, growing increasingly anxious as she moved closer and took Isabella's hand. "Isabella, don't do anything rash. Everyone at the company is already on edge. Don't you think it's strange? If you act out…"
Isabella shook off her mother's hand, standing up in a fit of stubborn anger. "Am I supposed to just watch her have Alexander's baby? Absolutely not."
