Chapter 41 The First Princess Carry
"Do you want to walk by yourself, or do you need my help?"
"What?"
"Never mind."
Ignoring her confusion, Alexander suddenly scooped her up from the ground.
Victoria was startled the moment she left the ground, quickly wrapping her arms around his neck, looking down at the ground, then at him, "You... you..."
"I asked for your opinion, but you couldn't make a decision."
So, he helped.
Alexander carried her towards the elevator.
He realized then that she was surprisingly light.
Didn't she eat properly?
Her elders often called him to say she was unhappy, and he assumed it was because she hadn't gotten over the sudden death of her parents in a car accident.
But being unable to move on didn't mean she should let herself become so weak.
"Put me down quickly."
As they entered the elevator, Victoria spotted a car entering the garage, quickly turning her head to hide in his chest and alerting him.
Alexander looked at her but didn't let go.
They were in the CEO's private elevator, no one would come in.
And...
She was now hiding weakly in his arms; how could he let go?
His heart grew soft, wishing this moment could last a little longer.
Victoria breathed a sigh of relief when the elevator doors closed, then looked at him again. After seeing his calm demeanor, she felt even more nervous.
This was the first time anyone had given her a princess carry.
The person carrying her like this was the one she fell in love with at first sight.
The person carrying her like this was her husband, who should have been very close to her.
What even was a princess carry?
They could do more intimate things, but...
But he didn't want her.
Victoria looked at him, her eyes gradually falling in despair.
She didn't dare to look at him anymore; she was afraid she would not be able to resist asking him why he was suddenly with another woman.
He was a married man.
Even if he didn't like her, he could tell her that he wanted a divorce, and she would agree.
But he didn't say anything. He let her know in such a humiliating way that he had someone else, and that the other woman was his childhood sweetheart.
She was slow to react, and it wasn't until the elevator got brighter and brighter that she subconsciously looked forward, and then she was stunned.
The CEO's private elevator was also a sightseeing elevator.
Outside, the higher it went, the more the golden sea came into view.
"Put me down quickly."
No time for pretense, she urged.
"My arm is numb."
Alexander looked at her, and his eyebrows furrowed.
Victoria was incredibly embarrassed, "We'll be seen."
She was incredibly nervous. She then struggled and jumped down from him.
His arm was numb and weak, and when she almost fell, he rushed up and held her.
In the corner of the elevator, one of his strong arms held her, while the other was pressed hard against the wall of the elevator.
Their eyes met, his gaze pressing into hers, "You're reckless."
Victoria's heart was racing, not for any other reason, but out of worry...
She looked down and, sure enough, some people were stopping to look up.
What were they looking at?
What could make them so curious?
She didn't dare to move; she lowered her head, burying herself in his chest.
Alexander quickly realized why she had suddenly become quiet, and although he was reluctant to let go of her small waist; he slowly released her and tried to step back.
A nerve in Victoria's temple jumped and a pair of slender hands immediately grabbed his shirt.
Alexander's hands were pressed against the elevator wall on either side of her shoulders as he looked down at her, “You’re not afraid of being misunderstood.”
“As long as they can’t see me, it’s okay.”
Victoria still retained her reason in her panic.
As long as those people couldn’t see her, no one would think it was her.
After all, for two whole years, she had lived and eaten with the Harrington family without anyone noticing anything.
In Alexander's deep gaze, however, there was a sudden change.
It would be okay if they couldn’t see her?
Was she afraid of being seen?
He looked at the woman who was hiding in his arms, clutching his shirt tightly, and suddenly said, "When we got married, we didn't announce it to the public. Now that I think about it..."
