Chapter 475 Admitting Defeat to Alexander

"All day long, Victoria and Alexander ignored each other except for work.

In the afternoon, before getting off work, Janaye quietly asked Victoria, ""Victoria, did Mr. Harrington argue with you?""

Before Janaye spoke, Alexander appeared, terrifying her so greatly that her voice slowed, and she stood up to greet him. ""Mr. Harrington.""

Alexander didn't even glance their way and just walked off.

Victoria held her breath, staring at her laptop until she heard the elevator doors close, and then she slightly relaxed.

After work, Janaye went downstairs with her.

Outside, a black sedan was parked, and Felix stood by the car. ""Mrs. Harrington.""

""Hello, Felix."" Victoria nodded politely in greeting.

""Well, I'm off then,"" Janaye said softly, noticing someone already sitting in the back seat. Judging by the suit pants, it should be their boss.

""Okay,"" Victoria greeted her and then walked down, ""Did Mrs. Harrington ask for me?""

A cold wind blew, making Victoria momentarily breathless.

What was that smell?

The scent was so strong and familiar.

""Grandma Harrington said she bought some things to nourish you and Mr. Harrington and asked me to pick you up,"" Felix spoke kindly to her, seemingly unaffected by the scent.

Victoria couldn't argue, but when she saw Alexander in the car, she smiled and said, ""I'll sit in the front.""

""You should sit in the back. The front is already occupied,"" Felix said.

Victoria reluctantly sat in the back with him.

Indeed, a longer rabbit sat in the front seat.

They sat in the back, and the atmosphere became tense, almost suffocating.

Victoria looked out the window, wanting to jump out of the car within a minute, especially with the overwhelming perfume filling the car.

It was the one Isabella liked to use.

Felix, holding back for a long time, couldn't help but cough.

But Alexander remained calm, naturally looking at his phone.

He seemed surrounded by an icy air, sharp and poisonous, capable of killing with a single scratch.

Even so, no one in the car dared to question it.

When Victoria and Felix thought the perfume might suffocate them, there was finally some movement in the car.

Felix took a quiet breath and glanced at the man in the rearview mirror.

Felix wanted to open the window but didn't dare. He couldn't stand the scent and had to hold his breath.

Fortunately, the phone rang, and Victoria took three seconds to realize it was hers. She quickly opened her bag, found the phone, and saw it was Ivan calling. She immediately answered, ""Hello, Mrs. Montgomery?""

""The public opinion is out of control. Can you ask the Harrington Group's PR Department to handle this?"" Ivan asked.

""Victoria, this concerns Adrian's career. I'm begging you,""  Ivan said.

""Alright, I understand,"" Victoria agreed.

""The sooner, the better. You should handle it now."" Ivan hung up, wanting to save Victoria's time.

Victoria put down the phone and looked at Alexander.

But she saw he was reading emails, so she thought for a moment and directly contacted the head of the PR Department.

Victoria texted: [Penelope, this is Victoria. I need your help with a matter concerning Adrian and me.]

Penelope Hill replied: [Mr. Harrington said not to bother with it.]

Victoria texted: [What?]

Penelope added: [I asked Mr. Harrington. You can ask him yourself.]

Victoria looked at Alexander and replied: [Alright, I'll call you back.]

Victoria hung up and asked Alexander, ""Did you tell them not to handle it?""

""Are you talking to me?"" Alexander turned to ask in a deep voice.

Victoria stared at him. Of course, she was talking to him.

Seeing her displeasure, Alexander continued looking at his phone.

He was frigid, which irritated Victoria, who was dizzy from the perfume. She resisted cursing him, asking, ""Can you call Penelope and ask her to handle it? This concerns Adrian's career.""

""What does that have to do with me?"" Alexander asked back.

""How can it not? He's your brother anyway,"" Victoria replied.

""If he considered himself as my brother, he wouldn't be seeing his brother's woman in the middle of the night,""  Alexander retorted.

""We've known each other for many years, even longer than I've known you,"" Victoria said.

""Are you sure? I knew you when you were still in diapers,"" Alexander said.

Victoria was momentarily speechless.

Felix, in front, was also scared, being wary of his breathing.

But the atmosphere oddly became amusing.

Alexander looked at her for a few seconds, then turned away, saying in a low voice, ""You don't even know the whole story. How can I solve it?""

Victoria glanced out the window, telling herself, 'Be patient. You must be patient.'

""Even if we've known each other longer, we just met downstairs last night, and aren't you getting married?"" Victoria asked.

Alexander listened, lowering his eyes.

Victoria tightly gripped her phone, looking at him. ""We don't want people to assume both brothers love me, right?""

""That's the truth."" Alexander's anger flared up again after her words.

But he looked at her.

Victoria's heart pounded heavily and intensely, repeatedly, but she could only suppress her temper and humbly said, ""Can you make the call first? Let Penelope handle the external issue, and we'll deal with the internal one.""

""My matter is already out. I'm not calling."" Alexander crossed his arms, irritably refusing.

Driving in the front, Felix felt Alexander was bullying Victoria.

Victoria was already being so cautious. Living together as a couple would be terrifying.

""Just make one call,"" Victoria begged.

Alexander finally lowered his eyes to see her small fingers tentatively tugging at his sleeve and her quiet voice. He faced her.

Under his gaze, Victoria dared not say more, looking pitifully at him.

""When you get there, tell her I said to handle it. If she can't, she can resign,"" Alexander ordered.

""Okay."" Victoria was stunned for two seconds but quickly agreed and called Penelope back.

""Hello, Penelope. I'm on my way to The Harrington Mansion with Mr. Harrington. He told me to tell you to handle it immediately. Thank you."" Victoria quickly finished the call and messaged Ivan.

Feeling unhappy, Alexander stared at her, his deep voice filled with doubt. ""Is that what I said?""

""Mr. Harrington said if she can't handle it, she can resign."" Felix couldn't help but interject.

""Even Felix heard it. You were sitting next to me and didn't hear?"" Alexander asked.

""My hearing isn't great,"" Victoria remarked.

""Really?"" Alexander frowned.

Feeling guilty, Victoria could only smile. ""Yes.""

""Then sit closer,"" Alexander ordered.

Victoria's eyes began to wander.

Felix asked, ""Mr. Harrington, can I open the window?""

Seeing Victoria's mysterious look, Alexander leaned closer to her, tsundere-like, ""No."""
