Chapter 164 A Title Beyond 'The Other Woman'

"If she is not to be termed 'the other woman,' then what would you suggest we call her? My grandson ventured into the world as a married man, and your daughter, fully aware of his marital status, pursued him nonetheless. And now, she carries his child," Mrs. Harrington's voice echoed through the room, her agitation palpable.

Her blood simmered beneath her skin, the denial of Naomi's daughter being 'the other woman' fueling her ire.

"Let's not forget, they were colleagues, working in close proximity. Feelings can develop in such circumstances. Moreover, it's not as if Alex and his wife shared a deep bond," Naomi retorted, attempting to defend her stance. The label of 'the other woman' loomed ominously over her family, but she refrained from lashing out, mindful of Mrs. Harrington's authority.

"Let's not be hasty. If we pause and reflect, it becomes evident what holds more significance: the unborn child or Miss Kensington?" Dorian interjected, his calm demeanor masking the tension that hung heavy in the room.

A silence, thick with unspoken thoughts and unvoiced opinions, descended upon them. Dorian's words, carefully chosen and thoughtfully delivered, hung in the air.

"Whether you accept it or not, the fact remains that Alexander Harrington and Vicky share a relationship," Marcus, typically affable, couldn't help but assert, a hint of frustration seeping into his tone.

"Marcus, regardless of their relationship, Isabella Montgomery is with child, and there's no denying that the child is a Harrington," Dorian countered swiftly, aware that Marcus was one of the more reasonable members of the family.

"We need proof," Marcus declared calmly, rising from his seat and exiting the room.

"The child isn't even born yet. The birth itself will serve as proof. But why should we, as the girl's parents, intervene at this stage? Our daughter almost lost her child last night. If you harbor any guilt towards that young woman, it's futile. She couldn't care less about your goodwill—in fact, she probably wishes the Harrington line would end with you."

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Naomi's words were spiraling out of control, and Arabella Harrington could bear it no longer.

"Ugh, my head is throbbing. Please escort them out," Mrs. Harrington pinched the bridge of her nose, signaling for her guests to be shown the door.

"Would someone kindly show Dorian and Naomi out?" Arabella Harrington requested, rising to assist Mrs. Harrington.

As Dorian and Naomi journeyed home, their spirits were still dampened. Naomi proposed, "Perhaps we should approach the young lady ourselves?"

"It seems we have little choice," Dorian concurred.

"I heard she moved out of the Regal Retreat, but her current residence remains a mystery."

"Just ask Isabella Montgomery; she's bound to know."

"Isabella Montgomery would know?" Naomi queried, puzzled.

"Mhm," Dorian hummed in affirmation.

By eight-thirty, Naomi was knocking on a door.

In the midst of her post-dinner cleaning routine, Victoria Kensington was taken aback by the elegant figure who stood at her doorstep. "May I assist you?"

"Are you Victoria Kensington? I am Isabella Montgomery's mother," Naomi announced, striding inside.

Victoria Kensington, standing bewildered in her open doorway, had no choice but to follow. "How may I help you?"

"I wouldn't be here if it weren't a matter of importance," Naomi declared as she ventured further into the house, expecting Victoria to attend to her concerns.

Naomi settled onto the freshly fluffed couch, her gaze lingering on Victoria Kensington before she finally spoke, "You are indeed striking, it's a pity about your misfortune."

Victoria remained silent, her eyebrows arching in surprise. Was this woman seriously appraising her and passing judgment so swiftly?

Was this the norm among high society women?

"Why don't you sit? Let's talk," Naomi suggested, reaching into her designer purse and producing a card. "Your mother-in-law mentioned you're not short on funds, but I think it's best I give you something. There's two hundred thousand dollars on this. Once you're back in the States, I'll transfer another two hundred grand to this account. The PIN is 123456."

"What are you implying?" Victoria inquired, her voice laced with confusion and caution.

"Isabella Montgomery is carrying a Harrington heir; it's only natural the Harringtons would marry her," Naomi explained. "I've already discussed this with Isabella's father, and we've reached an agreement with the Harrington family. It's time for you to return to America."

"You discussed this with the Harrington family?" Victoria's skepticism was evident in her tone.

"Yes, I just left their residence a short while ago."
