Chapter 66 Holding Her Hand in Front of Isabella

"Yes."
Weirdly, Alexander was now exuding a cold aura, like he wanted to keep someone at a distance.
"I just had breakfast at a nearby cafe and have some free time. How about I accompany you to work?"
"You should rest at home. It's not suitable for you to come to the office."
With that, Alexander suddenly grabbed Victoria's wrist.
Victoria, already on edge, felt her heart race as he interlocked their fingers, causing a flutter within her.
What was he doing?
Why was he holding her hand in front of Isabella.
"Let's go."
Alexander led her outside.
Isabella turned around in a daze, watching them hold hands and feeling a surge of pain in her heart.
Victoria was even more puzzled. After getting into the car, she vigorously rubbed the hand he had held, feeling uncomfortable waves of confusion and anxiety wash over her.
Alexander stopped the car at an intersection and glanced at her as she continued to rub her hand. "Is there something wrong with your hand?"
"Huh?"
"Or do I disgust you to the point where you want to chop off your own hand?"
Victoria remained silent, unable to come up with a response.
Seeing her subdued, Alexander sighed softly, feeling helpless.
Once the traffic cleared, he drove through the intersection but suddenly grabbed her hand again, placing it on his thigh.
Victoria was so nervous that she could hardly breathe; she couldn’t help but mutter, "What are you doing? Please let go of my hand."
She was exasperated.
Why the sudden kiss, the sudden bed, and the sudden hand-holding?
Didn't he realize that she might develop feelings?
Wasn't he afraid of her being unable to control her own heart?
"Don't move around; you might make me lose control."
He said lightly.
Victoria suddenly fell silent.
Right, he was driving.
But as she watched him continue to hold her hand, her heart continued to ache and churn intensely.
She once yearned for moments like these.
She once wanted him to hold her, embrace her, and envelop her in his arms.
But now that he was actually doing these things, she couldn't accept it.
Her phone rang in her bag, and she lowered her head, unzipping it to retrieve the phone.
Seeing it was Adrian, she immediately answered softly, "Adrian."
"Yeah, Alexander is taking me. Okay, see you at noon."
Victoria then hung up the phone.
But her hand that was being held suddenly started to ache.
She glanced at their intertwined fingers and then looked up at him with a puzzled expression.
She didn't want to be distracted by him anymore, so she asked directly, "Mr. Harrington, have you had a fight with Miss Montgomery?"
"Huh?"
Alexander glanced at her, puzzled by her question.
"Otherwise, why would you suddenly treat me like this?"
Victoria asked again.
After listening, Alexander smiled after a few seconds and replied, "I'm holding my wife's hand. Is there a problem with that?"
"What about Miss Montgomery? She is pregnant, that's a fact."
"That's her business."
"Her business? But the child is yours too."
As she spoke, she angrily pulled her hand away.
Alexander didn't insist.
He put both hands on the steering wheel and kept calmly looking ahead. "I told you, wait everything comes to light. I will tell you everything then."
"What comes to light?"
"Isabella and me."
Alexander continued.
Victoria still didn't quite understand, but he said to wait until everything came to light.
Could it be that the child wasn't his?
With his status, if the child was his, there was no need for him to deny it, right?
He returned with intentions of divorce, citing Isabella's pregnancy as a reason to provide her a home.
But then he suddenly decided not to divorce her.
Victoria squeezed the hand he had held, her mind swirling with sudden turmoil.
