Chapter 479 I Was Afraid Victoria Might Misunderstand
The couple got up within just half an hour.
They tossed and turned in bed, and then Alexander took off his tank top and threw it away.
"What are you doing?" Victoria asked.
"Fuck you, will you let me?" Alexander said.
"Why are you talking so crudely?" Victoria muttered softly.
Knowing she wouldn't agree, Alexander had to get out of bed.
Victoria couldn't help but look down out of curiosity.
Seeing him doing push-ups, she realized he wouldn't touch her, so she lay there and asked softly, "Didn't you say it wasn't an aphrodisiac?"
"How was I supposed to know this stuff had so many calories?" Alexander retorted.
Now he could really see how much Eloise wanted a great-grandchild.
But next time, Eloise should only give it to Victoria. He didn't need it.
Alexander got more and more into it, even doing one-handed push-ups.
Victoria watched him, being stunned. She suddenly realized his arm strength was amazing, especially those muscles that looked so solid when he exercised.
It was no surprise that he didn't respect the fitness coach and could carry her so easily.
As Victoria watched, she couldn't help but feel a bit hot herself, lying on the bed listlessly.
"Aren't you uncomfortable?" He suddenly asked.
"Yes," she responded.
"Do you want to join?" Alexander asked.
"No, I can bear it." She suddenly perked up.
Victoria silently crawled back to bed and lay quietly.
After all, her teacher used to say in the summer that if your mind were calm, you wouldn't feel the heat.
She didn't want to admit to hating exercise. She could work out hard when she did, but only sometimes.
When Alexander returned to bed, he saw her staring at the ceiling.
Victoria felt him lying alongside her again and ordered herself to keep calm, but she couldn't help but say, "How long do we have to keep this up?"
"What do you mean?" Alexander asked her, looking at the ceiling light.
"Just..." Suddenly, she seemed to lose the ability to articulate, and she felt like she was in cold darkness.
She probably meant their unclear relationship.
"They found that place yesterday. I canceled my immediate journey back to the city, but it wasn't something wrong yesterday. We've been together since childhood," Alexander suddenly explained.
Victoria turned to look at him, thinking he didn't blame his friends, which made him a responsible man.
But did her appearance disrupt their friends' beautiful lives?
Then she found she was really inconsiderate.
She turned her back to him.
Alexander turned over. "Victoria."
"What?" Victoria muttered.
"Turn around," Alexander said.
"I'm sleepy," she mumbled, closing her eyes.
She didn't want to think anymore.
But not long after she closed her eyes, his long body pressed against her, and his strong arm wrapped around her waist.
"Good night," he said.
Victoria moved forward a bit, mainly her butt.
Fortunately, he restrained himself later.
Later, as she was about to fall asleep, she vaguely heard the sound of running water in the bathroom.
Then, early in the morning, she rushed to the bathroom.
The medicine was too strong. Victoria had a nosebleed.
At breakfast, Eloise noticed they both looked unwell and couldn't help but ask, "Did you two not sleep all night?"
"Yeah, we were both very hot," Alexander said seriously before taking his porridge.
Eloise was so excited she couldn't contain herself, her face full of wrinkles from smiling.
Victoria glanced at Alexander and instinctively denied, "Don't believe him."
"Really?" Eloise's face immediately fell with disappointment.
Alexander didn't look at Victoria but couldn't help laughing.
This silly woman was still too young and naive.
Victoria also realized she shouldn't have explained. She silently lowered her eyes, trying to minimize her presence, and drank her soup.
"Don't you actually like men? If you dare to like men, I will immediately disown you as my grandson." After a few minutes, Eloise suddenly reacted and threatened Alexander.
"Grandma, you could also suspect that Victoria doesn't like men," Alexander seriously reminded her.
Victoria gazed at Alexander in surprise.
The elders couldn't help but look at them, too.
This was bad.
If Alexander liked men and Victoria liked women, how could this family work?
"No matter if you two like men or women, just don't forget to have children." Arabella figured it out. This couple needed to be pushed.
She should just drug them and lock them in a room. She didn't believe they couldn't make a baby.
But for the sake of the newborn's health, she would hold back for now.
Later on, just as the two arrived at the office building in the morning, they ran into Isabella again.
"Alexander," Isabella called.
No, how could it be called running into her?
She was clearly waiting for them.
No, Isabella was waiting for him.
Victoria automatically separated from Alexander and walked to the side.
"Alexander, you left in such a hurry the night before last. You didn't even take your coat," Isabella said.
There were many colleagues in the lobby coming to work, and hearing this, they couldn't help but look over.
Victoria just wanted to run away quickly, not wanting to embarrass herself.
But Alexander saw her trying to run and grabbed her arm.
Victoria looked at him and immediately said, "Let go of me."
"Aren't you going to help me get my coat?" Alexander reminded her with a smile, holding her shoulder tightly.
Victoria didn't understand and looked at him, then at Isabella.
Isabella was holding his black coat, looking at them expectantly.
Isabella had prepared herself to look like a low-key wife today. From the outside, it was clear she was here to bring her husband his coat.
But this was the Harrington Group's office building.
No one really dared to stop and watch the drama.
As if knowing too much about Alexander would be fatal, they took a glance and hurried away.
And they all saw that Alexander held Victoria, their boss's real wife.
As for Isabella, they thought, 'The mistress is shameless.'
"Alexander, how about I take it up for you? I also brought some desserts I made myself." Isabella said, going back to get the desserts she brought.
They were in a box from Isabella's home, but who made the desserts was uncertain.
"What do you think I should do?" Alexander looked down at the woman he was holding and asked.
Victoria realized he was really over the top. What was he showing off here?
"Can't you make such a small decision yourself?" Victoria asked angrily.
Her voice was low because she didn't want anyone to know what they were talking about.
"But you're my wife and my secretary. It would help if you made such small decisions for me," Alexander said
"Then let go of me first, and I'll decide for you," Victoria said.
After staring at her, Alexander released his hold on her shoulder.
Victoria immediately pushed him away, then coldly looked at Alexander and glanced at Isabella.
"Victoria, don't be mad. That night I was just having a few drinks with friends. Everyone knows I'm not in good health and didn't let me drink, so I can assure you Alexander didn't drink either," Isabella explained.
Alexander listened to Isabella's last words and couldn't help but look at her in confusion.
"I drank. I had the driver bring me back." Alexander exposed the lie.
"Okay, I was just afraid Victoria would misunderstand us if she knew you drank, so I said that on purpose," Isabella explained.
