Chapter 925 Indeed, You Should Wait
She was determined to see how Curtis could ignore someone as stunning as her.
Victoria arrived at the office building, parked her car, and was about to rush out, but the car door was opened and quickly closed again.
She knew very well that if she rushed in like this, there would be countless more things waiting for her to handle in the future.
But this matter was too serious for her could only put aside her grievances with him and push the door open.
Shoure happened to come out, saw Victoria, and quickly approached, saying, "Someone help Mrs. Harrington park her car. You're finally here. Mr. Harrington has locked himself in his office, and everyone is very worried."
Victoria had nothing to say and followed Shoure upstairs.
Her secretary's desk was now occupied by a familiar senior, Graham.
Graham stood up and smiled when he saw Victoria.
Victoria nodded back.
It had been a long, long time since she had worked here.
Victoria was pushed through the door.
Alexander stood like a mountain in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, claiming faintly, "Wait until Victoria arrives."
"Me?" Victoria asked softly.
She thought he was talking about her.
What was he insisting on?
Was there any room for negotiation?
Otherwise, how could he be so unprofessional?
Alexander turned around, and upon seeing Victoria, his eyes showed obvious excitement, but he quickly looked down. "You didn't want to come, did you?"
"Alexander, what are you doing?"
Victoria stepped forward and questioned him.
"Waiting for my spokesperson."
"What?"
"You."
Alexander suddenly smiled after saying that and grabbed her hand, "You and me together."
Victoria accompanied Alexander to the meeting and only understood after hearing the plan that his presence wasn't strictly necessary. But for Alexander to attend, she had to come back.
Shoure had helped Alexander deceive her to make things easier.
During lunch, Alexander invited everyone to dine together, and amidst the busyness, he held Victoria's hand, deliberately leaning close to her ear to speak.
Everyone was used to their intimacy and didn't pay much attention, each chatting among themselves.
Victoria only heard Alexander ask, "Have you met Diana's boyfriend?"
Victoria looked up and met his warm, smiling eyes.
She felt her heart race, but couldn't help but marvel at his intelligence.
He already knew why Diana went there to get a house.
"No."
Recalling Diana's words, she quickly lowered her eyes and replied lightly, then raised her wine glass, "Shoure, let's have a drink."
"Sure."
Victoria then drank all the red wine in her glass.
She felt a bit better but was still very annoyed.
Alexander knew everything but chose to play dumb all day. Victoria thought Alexander's eyes had a sparkle, like scattered stars in the sky.
But it was a shame those stars couldn't align. After lunch, she drove off to a café to pick up Diana.
Unexpectedly, she ran into Daisy at the café.
Daisy and Diana were sitting at a table with two cups of cappuccino.
Diana waved at Victoria as she entered, then leaned in and whispered to Daisy, "Watch what you say."
Daisy lowered her head slightly, then turned to look at the approaching Victoria.
"Daisy mentioned she wanted to talk to me."
Diana explained as she moved a chair for Victoria.
Victoria didn't ask much, knowing they used to be quite close.
"It's just something Isabella wanted to come out. Isabella is already making moves."
Daisy didn't hide anything.
Victoria felt that Daisy was deliberately saying it for her to hear.
"That's great," Victoria replied lightly.
Daisy stared straight at Victoria, "Great?"
"Yeah, then you won't be lonely," Victoria explained.
Diana listened and thought she had underestimated Victoria's ability to be sarcastic.
Victoria looked at Daisy's angry eyes and remarked, "My combat power is too weak. You need an enemy like Isabella to bring out your abilities."
"You don't think I'm stupid enough to believe you're complimenting me, do you?"
Daisy thought Victoria was insulting her.
Victoria believed Daisy and Isabella were the same kind of people.
"With your intelligence, you might know I'm stating a fact." Victoria expressed herself seriously.
Diana couldn't help but smile, seeing Victoria's calm demeanor as if she were at a negotiation table. It seemed Victoria had been lenient with her before.
"Aren't you afraid that if Isabella comes out, she'll be against you again?" Daisy questioned Victoria irritably.
"Afraid, but what good does it do to be afraid?" Victoria retorted.
"Victoria, no wonder they say you're not good enough for Mr. Harrington. With your heartless nature, you indeed don't deserve it."
Daisy murmured and then walked out.
Victoria watched Daisy's back, resting her chin in her hand and sighing.
Diana leaned closer to Victoria, giving her a look and whispering, "You're good at pissing people off. Why are you so nice to me?"
"Of course," Victoria replied softly.
"Because I'm Alexander's sister?"
Victoria didn't respond but raised an eyebrow with a smile.
Diana pushed her coffee towards Victoria, "Do you dare to share a cup with me?"
Victoria, feeling a bit tempted, took a sip and nodded, "Not bad, it smells good."
"Daisy and I have one thing in common: we both love this sweet stuff."
"Many people love cappuccino; it's not bad. Shall we go? We need to return to the Harrington Mansion tonight."
"Okay, I heard Melissa is coming back today. Grandparents went to the Montgomery family with her."
"Are they going to Ms. Montgomery's house?"
Victoria thought for a moment and asked.
"Yes, to apologize and discuss the engagement. It mainly depends on the Montgomery family's opinion. We don't know the outcome yet, so let's hurry back." Diana explained.
"I thought you were planning to stay here."
"I do need to stay here tonight. The house is ready. I have to give Curtis a shock."
"Or a surprise," Victoria added.
"How do you know me so well? If you weren't married to Alexander, I'd fall in love with you."
Victoria was amused by Diana. On the way back, Diana drove while Victoria's back ached badly.
But when they returned, they found that the Montgomery family had not agreed to the engagement on behalf of the absent Ava. They just told the Harrington family to go home and wait for news.
To dare to make Brett and Eloise go home and wait for news, Ava's family was unique.
However, Brett and Eloise didn't mind. Brett even remarked, "Ava has worked hard for you all these years, and now she's pregnant with your child, but not recognized by you. You should wait."
