Chapter 72 Giving Birth to a Great-grandchild?
But why did he expect her to provide an answer?
He was still messing around with another woman, yet was now asking her such a question.
After getting out of the car, Victoria walked behind him, silently contemplating as she gazed at his figure.
Alexander stopped, turned to look at her, and politely gestured for her to walk a bit faster.
Only then did Victoria catch up.
While walking beside her, Alexander didn't engage in overly intimate actions, yet they gave off a sense of closeness.
Old Lady Harrington and the others quietly watched them enter by the French windows, finding the couple delightful; they even sneakily took photos of them.
Old Lady Harrington said, "We'll post these online tomorrow."
"If my memory serves me right, there should be plenty of clothes at home that you can wear."
"Hmm?"
Victoria snapped out of her thoughts, stopped, and looked at him puzzled.
Alexander also paused, "Aren't you hot wearing long pants all the time?"
Victoria lowered her head, then fell silent again.
"Or is it to guard against me?"
Actually, Alexander didn't want that to be the case.
Victoria hadn't thought of it that way; she just felt safer this way. Moreover, she walked a lot, and wearing skirts was not as convenient as wearing pants.
If it weren't for her position as a secretary, she would even consider wearing sneakers.
"Let's go inside first; we'll talk about our matters later."
Alexander said, continuing to walk inside.
However, he quickly stopped again, realizing she was once again behind him. "Mrs. Harrington, a bit faster, please?"
"Later, shall we return to Regal Retreat?" Victoria walked up to him and asked seriously.
"Do you want to go back to Regal Retreat?"
"Yes."
Victoria immediately nodded in agreement.
After observing her compliant demeanor, Alexander furrowed his brow; he appeared troubled, "It's hard to say. I can promise you now, but if the elders insist on us staying over, we can't refuse."
"But..."
"Hmm?"
"You'll catch a cold sleeping on the couch."
She seemed genuinely concerned for his health.
"I understand. My wife is just caring for me. Alright, let's go."
Alexander raised his hand, gently wrapping it around her slim waist as they continued inside.
Old Lady Harrington quickly sat back on the couch, whispering, "We must post these online tomorrow; they should no longer keep their marriage a secret after so long."
Arabella and Maximus silently agreed with Old Lady Harrington.
Soon, the butler's voice rang out from the entrance.
"Mr. and Mrs. Harrington have returned."
"Thanks."
Alexander acknowledged the butler and walked inside.
"Hey, where's your coat, Mr. Harrington?"
The nanny who was cooking breakfast for them at Regal Retreat also returned and curiously asked upon seeing them.
Alexander's face darkened.
Victoria, feeling flustered without a clear reason, quietly distanced herself.
"It got dirty, so I threw it away." He glanced at Victoria, who had abruptly moved away, and nonchalantly explained.
Victoria looked at him in confusion.
Alexander's dark eyes stared straight at her, "Do you think I gave it to another woman?"
Victoria didn't know what to say.
Should she believe Jasmine's claim that he gave it to Isabella, or that he threw it away for no reason?
"Why don't you come here, darling? Sit next to Grandma. I couldn't bear not seeing you for a moment. Unlike some people who vanish for two years, and when they do return, they treat you so harshly. What’s wrong with him?"
Old Lady Harrington took hold of Victoria's hand and seated her beside her, not forgetting to scold her own grandson.
As Alexander sat down, he sighed helplessly, "Grandma, aren’t you being too biased? I am your own grandson."
"So what? Will my grandson give me a great-grandchild, or will it depend on my granddaughter-in-law?" Old Lady Harrington looked at Victoria.
"Vicky, hurry up and fatten yourself up a bit. We'll have to work harder at getting you pregnancy ready. Don’t you think it’s time to give Grandma a lovely little great-grandchild?"
Old Lady Harrington coaxed her.
"Huh?"
Victoria was at a loss for words.
Giving birth to a great-grandchild?
