Chapter 373 Pity Me Will You
Alexander's sharp gaze shifted towards Olivia, silently questioning, "Isn't the reason obvious?’
With a bang outside the window, everyone turned to look outside.
Alexander suddenly stood up. "I have something to do. I'll leave first."
He left decisively, as if there was an urgent matter.
"Alexander, what a coincidence."
As the elevator doors opened, someone inside looked at him eagerly.
Alexander's eyes narrowed, his expression growing colder.
Isabella came out and immediately reached out to hold his arm, acting like a girlfriend. "I happen to be a little bored. Will you accompany me?"
"Sorry, I can't accompany you right now," Alexander coldly refused, moved her hand away from his arm, and walked into the elevator.
"Alexander!" Isabella disappointedly turned to call out to him.
Alexander quickly pressed the close button, not even looking at her.
“Isabella, do you have leukemia or a brain issue?" Olivia asked, leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed. Isabella turned to see her, noticing Olivia's posture, and quickly walked over to her.
"I haven't searched for you yet, but here you are."
“Do you look for me? What are you looking for from me?" Olivia asked.
"What do you mean by 'what for'? We grow up together, but you're siding with someone else," Isabella queried.
“Are you trying to persuade me? What do you have to offer?" Olivia assessed her, noting her pale face and wondering how she could try to recruit her in that condition.
"What can I offer you?" Isabella felt relieved when she realized Olivia was interested in benefits and quickly took her inside to talk.”
She had never treated Benjamin and Edward as outsiders, even though they were friends with Alexander, they were not the kind to gossip.
"Aren't you sick? Why are you running around all the time?"
Edward couldn't help but ask her.
"If you haven't fallen in love with someone, you wouldn't understand," Isabella explained.
Edward immediately looked a bit displeased with Benjamin, thinking, ‘Neither of them have fallen in love with someone. How come?’
Edward glanced at Olivia. Olivia slowly walked over, sat down beside her, arms crossed, and stared at Isabella, ignoring Edward. She asked Isabella, "What do you want to do exactly?"
“I love Alexander, as you all know. I've tried to move on, but the doctor says I don't have much time left, so I want to marry him before I pass away," Isabella said, looking at the three familiar faces in front of her.
"What about his original bride that 23-year-old girl?" Olivia asked.
"Alexander doesn't love her," Isabella replied.
Olivia found it amusing and said, "How do you know if he loves Victoria or not?"
"He simply doesn't love her, he has said it himself," Isabella replied.
"It's because he loves Victoria that he bring back the main designer to design the wedding dress for Victoria." Olivia resorted.
"What?" Isabella was stunned.
“Isabella, as a prominent member of the Montgomery Group, you didn't fall in love with Alexander early on or late. It's only after he got involved with that girl who lost her parents that you fell for him. It's difficult not to make people suspect that you enjoy seducing married men," Olivia's final words were spoken slowly and pointedly.
Benjamin kept his head down and remained silent, but it was hard for him not to agree.
Edward, on the other hand, kept staring at Olivia, finding this woman quite annoying.
"What are you talking about?" Isabella stood up immediately, questioning Olivia unhappily.
"I said..."
Isabella suddenly covered her chest, looking like she couldn't breathe properly.
Fuck, she didn't intend to harm anyone.
“We're all on the same team here, let's sit down and discuss this calmly," Edward said as he stood up to assist Isabella.
Isabella had always been a bit cunning since she was young, and she had assisted him with some strategies in the past.
However, in this group, it was important not to scheme against your own allies.
Seeing Olivia also starting to relax, Isabella slowly sat back down and politely requested, "Could you please get me a glass of water?”
Edward immediately poured her a glass of water. After taking a few sips, Isabella said weakly, "Can you all just pity me?"
