Chapter 824 Mr. Harrington and Ms. Bryant Have Already Developed a Very Good Relationship
"Wait for me? What's the matter?"
Victoria asked curiously.
"Mrs. Harrington, please get in the car first."
Leander opened the back door, smiling obsequiously.
Victoria felt a chill from his smile and instinctively said defensively, "I'm not getting in unless you tell me why."
"If Mrs. Harrington doesn't get in the car, I won't be able to pay my grandma's medical bills, and she'll be kicked out of the hospital."
Leander said seriously, looking more pitiful as he spoke.
Victoria felt a pang in her chest, hesitated, and slowly got into the car.
Leander immediately closed the door and locked it.
Victoria heard the lock click and immediately sensed something was off.
And Leander stood outside, smiling even more obsequiously at her.
Victoria tapped on the window, but he didn't open it, so she climbed to the front.
Leander thought, 'Alexander ordered me to stop you no matter what, I have no choice.'
Soon, Alexander strode out of the building and got into the car.
Victoria heard the sound, turned to look, and just as she was about to escape, Alexander grabbed her slender waist with both hands, easily keeping her by his side. "Where are you going?"
"You are despicable."
Victoria could only scorded at him.
Alexander didn't care at all and said to Leander, "Leander, drive to Serenade Villa."
"I'm not going to your house."
Victoria started to shout.
"The deed has both our names on it. How can you say it's just my house?"
"What?"
"It was supposed to have only your name."
Victoria thought, 'What are you talking about?'
Alexander continued, "But considering I might get kicked out in the future, I added my name. And also..."
"And also what?"
Victoria couldn't handle so much information at once.
"This way, we have one more place where our names are together."
Victoria was speechless. She turned to open the car door and run from the other side, but Alexander held her tightly again. He looked down at her angry face and said, "Do you want me to kiss you here?"
Victoria looked up at him, thinking he was shameless.
Alexander had no sense of shame and didn't care that there were people in the front seat when he said such things.
"Leander is at the age of experiencing his first love. If he sees us being so intimate, he might get a nosebleed. And also..."
"Shut up."
Victoria was afraid Alexander would say something even more inappropriate, so she raised her hand to cover his mouth.
Alexander was happy even with his mouth covered. He held her tightly in his arms and said to Leander, "Drive."
Leander drove seriously, thinking Alexander's methods were impressive.
Leander got married young and had adorable sons and daughters. Alexander even gave his kids New Year gifts, but why did Alexander seem to forget?
'Never mind, Alexander must be too busy.'
'No, I shouldn't speak ill of Alexander, or he might fire me.'
This job might seem ordinary, but to many, driving for the CEO of such a big company was a great job.
The car finally arrived at Serenade Villa. Alexander opened the car door, bent down, and looked at the angry, arms-crossed Victoria inside. He asked softly, "Do you need help?"
Victoria heard this, glared at him, and then reluctantly got out.
She had said all the harsh words she could, but they seemed useless.
Victoria got out, annoyed, and walked coolly inside with her slender legs.
Alexander stood by the car, holding the door, watching her, and suddenly smiled.
They were home.
This was no longer the small apartment on Rockland Street but their wedding house.
The small apartment on Rockland Street wasn't bad; it was Rockland Street that was the problem.
As soon as Victoria entered, she heard Strawberry's voice, and her steps became more determined.
"Mrs. Harrington."
Eve saw her return and immediately called out, feeling inexplicably guilty and not daring to look at her.
Victoria said nothing, just bent down to pick up Strawberry, but she couldn't lift her.
Victoria bent over, holding Strawberry for a few seconds before having to let go, her eyes involuntarily reddening.
"Could you please hand her to me?"Victoria said politely.
Eve immediately handed Strawberry to her. Holding Strawberry made Victoria feel more at ease, and she immediately walked out.
Alexander had already come in and wrapped Victoria and Strawberry in his arms. "Where are you going?"
"I promised Grandma to stay at Metro House for several days."
"But Grandma is staying in the hospital tonight for observation, so we can go back tomorrow," Alexander explained.
Victoria was a bit unhappy. She had planned to ask Eloise for help.
Taking Strawberry with her might not be agreeable to Eloise, but asking Eloise to stand up for her and vent her anger was no problem.
"Let me hold her. When your back feels better, you can have her back."
Seeing she was less angry, Alexander took Strawberry.
After letting go, Victoria was held by the waist. She looked up at him and said lightly, "Let go."
Alexander smiled, "I can't bear to."
Victoria ignored him. Could he catch up with her while holding Strawberry?
She quickly walked inside, and Alexander didn't try to stop her.
He walked in slowly, holding Strawberry, and said, "Your mom has quite a temper. We'll have to endure it in the future."
Eve stood by, not daring to speak, but she wanted to tell Victoria she had been notified to come here only that afternoon.
She didn't mean to keep it from Victoria; it was just too rushed.
They had just sat down, not even had a drink, when Alfred came over with a package. "Mr. Harrington, you have a package."
Alexander looked puzzled, holding Strawberry. "Where is it from?"
"It's from an overseas luxury store."
Alfred glanced at it and explained.
"Open it and see."
Alexander didn't think much of it.
Alfred opened it and found a belt and a card. He didn't dare look too much and handed it over.
Alexander was about to let him show it to Victoria when he glanced at it and immediately took it.
"A small gift from your admirer, Dais."
There was a smiley face on the card.
Alexander looked at it, frowning.
Dais?
Who was that?
"It's Daisy."
Victoria saw his frown and guessed he didn't remember who it was, so she reminded him.
Alexander turned to look at her.
They were sitting very close, and he had intentionally sat next to Victoria, but he didn't want her to see this.
"So Mr. Harrington and Ms. Bryant are close enough for her to send you a belt?"
"Not."
