Chapter 958 Intimacy
"Stop kissing."
"Why?"
"It'll spread."
"Fool."
Alexander caressed behind Victoria's ear, then kissed her again.
What did it matter if it spread?
He just wanted them to be close enough.
Alexander stayed for three days before he had to leave, and Victoria was already well.
When he was leaving, she went to see him off. At the airport, he looked down at their clasped hands and said softly, "I'll come back this weekend."
"Next weekend," she replied with a gentle smile.
Alexander raised his eyes, "Don't you want to see me sooner?"
They hadn't even parted yet, and he was already missing her.
Victoria lowered her head slightly, feeling a bit shy, then said, "It's already Tuesday."
Alexander just held her hand, gently rubbing her fingertips, then pulled her into his arms and kissed her again.
He felt like he was in a long-distance relationship.
This long-distance relationship was really tormenting him, yet he couldn't change the situation quickly.
He held her in his arms, ignoring the people around them, and whispered in her ear, "I already miss you."
Victoria tilted her head up, barely showing her face. As she listened, one of her hands was already clutching his shirt hem.
Missing was no longer something she could easily say.
In the end, he left, leaving those words behind.
Eve and Frank stood behind Victoria as Alexander disappeared into the terminal.
Victoria still stood there, her legs feeling like they couldn't move.
Could they really be together?
It wasn't the first time today that her eyes were filled with tears.
She turned around, "Let's go."
Eve and Frank followed behind Victoria, unable to see the tears falling from her eyes.
She didn't want to accept even a kind word from Alexander.
It was not that easy to forget someone you fell in love with at first sight.
But the physical pain constantly reminded her not to return to that kind of life.
When Alexander returned to Ankenra City, he went between the company and home every day, not even going out for drinks.
Edward and Benjamin brought some wine to Alexander's house, only to find that Alexander was already washed up and ready for bed.
"It's only ten o'clock," Edward reminded, seeing Alexander in his pajamas.
"I know," Alexander replied, walking to the kitchen to get wine glasses.
The three of them sat on the living room sofa and poured some red wine.
Benjamin asked, "Are you planning to rest up so you can visit Tori this weekend?"
Alexander smiled at that, leaning over to pick up his wine.
Red wine helped with sleep; a little bit wouldn't hurt.
"You're not planning to fly for over ten hours every week to see Victoria, are you?" Edward asked.
"Unless you can bring Victoria back," Alexander replied calmly.
He knew she wouldn't come back easily.
"If you can't do it, we certainly can't either, unless..." Edward suddenly had an idea.
Alexander looked up at him, "Finish your thought."
"Tell her you have a terminal illness," Edward suggested.
Alexander smiled at Edward's suggestion but quickly dropped his smile, reminding Edward, "Saying that too much will only make her angry."
Edward immediately quieted down.
"But isn't Victoria's birthday coming up? Tessa bought a gift and asked you to take it when you go," Benjamin chimed in.
"Right, Olivia bought one too, but she probably already sent it herself," Edward remembered Olivia picking out a gift a few days ago.
Alexander listened, falling silent.
Did Victoria remember her birthday?
It was on Friday.
He would see her soon; would she be moved?
