Chapter 62 Why Did She Have To Leave Victoria Behind?

"She’s family."
Alexander spoke up before Isabella could finish saying the word ‘sister.’
Normally, they weren't the type to interrupt each other.
Their upbringing had always taught them to wait for others to finish speaking, no matter how urgent.
Isabella turned to look at him.
Isabella didn't understand the difference between family and sister.
But since he said it like that, then...
His expression had turned cold, so she knew she couldn't continue. To ease the tension a bit, she could only fall silent.
When Jasmine went to deliver the coffee, it was Berke who asked first, "Where's Victoria?"
"Oh, Victoria went downstairs; she’ll be up later."
"I see. I was planning to take her out for lunch."
Berke suddenly looked at Alexander, "Honestly, would you mind telling me about this Victoria? I think she's a nice girl."
As Jasmine left, she held her breath.
Had Mr. Berke taken a liking to Victoria?
She also wondered why her boss had such a murderous look on his face. Why was she feeling nervous when this literally had nothing to do with her?
Meanwhile, in the office, Isabella casually asked, "Mr. Berke, it seems like you’re quite fond of our Victoria."
"I do like her quite a bit. Although she's young, she's cautious and knows her boundaries. Most importantly, hehe, she gives off a very... gentle vibe."
Mr. Berke said this very seriously, not in a suggestive way.
But Alexander felt like he was asking for trouble.
Gentle vibe?
She was even softer when squeezed. Did he want to give that a try as well?
Isabella laughed, "Mr. Berke, you truly are quite taken with our Victoria, but you'll have to pass Alex's grandparents’ test first and get their approval."
Alexander subtly observed Isabella.
"Oh? Tell me more."
Mr. Berke was very interested; he continued to engage in conversation with Isabella on how he could win Victoria over.
Meanwhile, Alexander sat silently between them, his thoughts drifting to a place far from this office.
On the night of his grandma's birthday, for some reason, she wasn't in the lively banquet hall but was sitting alone on the garden swing chair.
When he walked over, she looked up at him. Her eyes shined like stars in the sky, breathtaking and gentle.
She called his name, wanting to stand up, but she was sitting too deep in the swing and couldn't get up in one go, so he helped her.
"Alex, Alex?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you think? Shall we host lunch and invite Mr. Berke and Victoria?"
"Yeah."
Alexander didn't refuse immediately.
But as soon as he came back to his senses, he immediately sent a WhatsApp message to Victoria.
Victoria was working and furrowed her brows in confusion when she saw the message.
"What's up?"
Jasmine asked curiously.
"Mr. Harrington wants us to go to the factory now."
"Oh?"
Jasmine was also puzzled.
Why did they need to go to the factory?
Nevertheless, the two of them took the company car to the factory.
The factory manager received them as if they were his bosses, making both of them feel a bit guilty.
It was already past four in the afternoon when Alexander finally arrived. Victoria and Jasmine received a call and went to the entrance to meet him.
Alexander looked at her, "Have you had lunch?"
"Yeah, at the canteen in the factory. It was really good."
Alexander's gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds.
This time it wasn't just good, it was really good, indicating that she was very satisfied.
He was worried that she might be unhappy about being brought here, but not only was she not unhappy, she seemed quite... content?
"You can head back to the city and finish your work for the day. Miss Kensington will stay here with me."
Before Alexander walked inside, he suddenly glanced at Jasmine.
She looked concerned, like she wanted to stay.
The atmosphere in the factory was much better than their tall and majestic office building.
And why did she have to leave Victoria behind?
