Chapter 364 Obstetrics and Gynecology Examination
"Oh, I see. The dean called to say you were here for a pregnancy check-up, but maybe he got it wrong. Mrs. Shaw, do you have urine now?" The doctor spoke as he picked up a clear cup from the side. This thing was familiar to Victoria. Alexander had given her one before.
"Yes," Victoria replied.
"That's great. Go fill up this cup first, and then I'll help you with the test." the doctor said cheerfully.
There was no one else in the office at the moment. Victoria didn't feel awkward, so she quickly went to fill up the cup. Shortly after, Alexander appeared at the door of the restroom, seeing her holding the cup of liquid, and whispered, "Didn't see you drink a lot of water this morning."
Victoria, her face flushed with embarrassment, remained silent. Alexander stepped forward. "Give it to me."
"Never mind, I can do it myself," Victoria said shyly.
"Why be polite with me? Go wash your hands." Alexander said as he took the cup from her.
"Alright," Victoria awkwardly agreed and immediately turned to wash her hands. Alexander stood by until she finished washing her hands before walking out with her. He walked ahead, unaware that Victoria's eyes were already moist as she stared at his back.
It was easy to feel touched when a man carried urine for you. It was especially poignant when that man was someone you had fallen in love with at first sight, and despite everything that had happened, you still had not let go of him.
Two minutes later, the doctor looked somewhat apologetic. "Although you're not pregnant, don't worry. Your health seems fine. Getting pregnant shouldn't be difficult. Since you're already here, why don't I conduct a simple examination for you, Mrs. Harrington?"
"What kind of examination is it?" Victoria asked.
"Since you are planning for a baby, it's best to have a gynecological examination, which is beneficial for conception," the doctor explained.
"But we're not planning to have children," Victoria responded.
"Alright."
This time, Alexander stood by her side and agreed on her behalf.
Five minutes later, the doctor emerged from the inner room, his expression more serious. She didn't know why she had agreed to this.
"Do you or Mrs. Harrington have any hidden illnesses?" the doctor asked.
"What do you mean?" Alexander immediately responded with anger.
"Forget it. Mrs. Harrington probably doesn't need this examination. As for the vomiting issue, I suggest you both go to the gastroenterology department for a thorough check-up."
After they left the room, Alexander stood against the wall, watching Victoria who remained silent and kept her head down. He asked her, "What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing," Victoria replied, her face filled with confusion.
Alexander furrowed his brows even more after hearing her response. "You both went in. Didn't do anything?"
"Yes, the doctor asked me to take off one pant leg and lie down on the table, and then..."
"And then what?"
"Standing there staring, he suddenly told me to put on my pants and then left."
Alexander's brows twisted into a frown. Victoria became even more anxious. ‘Do I have a problem? Why did the doctor just look at me and asked me to put my pants back on? Wasn't I supposed to have a gynecological examination? Even virgins can have gynecological exams. What's wrong with me that the doctor didn't do anything?’
Victoria gradually became nervous, they went to the gastroenterology department for another check-up. It turned out to be an issue with the fever-reducing medication she had used this time. Both of them should have been relieved, but neither of them relaxed afterward.
The two of them walked slowly in the hospital lobby, each lost in their own thoughts.
"No, I'm going to ask the doctor what he meant," Alexander stopped and said, turning to find the head of obstetrics and gynecology.
"Don't go," Victoria said, stopping him by grabbing his sleeve. Alexander turned and saw her holding onto his clothing, asking, "Aren't you curious?"
"Let it go. It's too embarrassing," Victoria said.
She had never opened herself up like that to someone before. That person actually showed such a disappointed expression.
