Chapter 644 You Make Me Feel Ashamed

Hearing Isabella's words, Naomi suddenly felt weak and collapsed onto the couch.

"You raised me, so I won't fight back for these two slaps; but from now on, I won't respect you anymore. You make me feel ashamed. You should leave," Isabella said.

"You're telling me to leave?" Naomi suddenly felt an extreme heartache.

"Do you still want to stay here at this point?"

"Your father has so many women, so what's wrong with me having a lover? Besides, don't you have any? Mr. Ward, Mr. Reed—aren't they both your lovers? Compared to you and your father, I'm nothing." After saying this, Naomi took the divorce agreement and went upstairs.

She thought, 'I will never leave this house.

'I'm the mistress here, and I always will be.

'Dorian wants a divorce?

'Does he still want to clear Faye's name while he is in prison?

'I won't allow it.

Faye dared to secretly get involved with her husband, have a child, and even raise it to this age.

The thought of it made Naomi furious. Today, when she saw Faye, she couldn't help but slapFaye twice.

She thought, 'How disgusting was it that Faye still dared to call me intimately?'

Isabella went out of the house again in the middle of the night. She couldn't control herself from driving to that place—Alexander and Victoria's new house.

She thought, 'Alexander has actually bought such a big house for Victoria to live in.

'Isn't this the best mansion in Ankenra City?'

Isabella didn't know how much land this place covered, but it should take a long drive to get in.

However, she was determined to get in.

The woman who could live here didn't have to be Victoria, but the mistress of the Harrington family, Alexander's legal wife.

The word "legal" had become even more important to Isabella now.

She used to think she could endure anything as long as she could be with Alexander, even if it meant dealing with Victoria, whom she considered a useless obstacle. She planned to deal with Victoria when the time was right.

But now, her thoughts turned to the vast, serene ocean and the 700 thousand dollars she had set aside. Yes, this was the perfect moment.

Isabella glanced at the door with a smirk, muttering to herself, "Victoria, enjoy yourself while you can. Soon you'll find out what it means to be caught in your own hubris. I hope you suffer a bit more before you meet your end."

She quickly left, heading to a bar. There, she spotted Benjamin and Sebastian. She walked over to them with a smile. "Mind if I join you?"

The two men looked at her with some surprise but quickly masked it with polite composure. They were outside; the table was spacious, so they all maintained their manners and said nothing.

After a few sips, Isabella couldn't help but vent. "My dad wants a divorce from my mom. Can you believe it? The family I once took pride in is falling apart. Don't you think I'm on the verge of total ruin?"

Sebastian and Benjamin exchanged glances. Though Isabella seemed to be trying to laugh off her misery, there was an unsettling edge to her demeanor. They fell silent.

Sebastian checked his watch, finished his drink, and quietly said to Benjamin, "I need to head home now."

"I'll stay a bit longer," Benjamin replied thoughtfully.

Sebastian stood up to leave.

"Hold on, Sebastian. Are you looking down on me?"

Sebastian glanced over at her with a smile. "Ms. Montgomery, why would I look down on you? It's just that my wife is quite strict, and I need to head home early to be with her."

"You don't need to rub it in with all this 'wife' talk. I know you don't love her," Isabella shot back confidently.

"You're mistaken. Actually, I love her very much," Sebastian replied before walking away.

Isabella, furious, downed a large glass of wine in one gulp. "He's getting more and more hypocritical."

"Loving his wife doesn't make him a hypocrite," Benjamin commented.

"We all know who he really loves."

"You're talking about yourself, aren't you? Sure, he may have loved you in the past, but why do you still believe that's the case now?" Benjamin asked.

"Love doesn't just switch targets so easily," Isabella said firmly.

Benjamin chuckled lightly and took another sip of his drink.

Though Sebastian's actions unsettled Isabella, she decided not to dwell on it. Instead, she turned her attention back to Benjamin. "You know Victoria's pregnant, right?"

Benjamin furrowed his brow.

Isabella's jealousy seeped through. "That woman's something else. Just when everyone thought she couldn't have kids, she shows up pregnant."

"Isabella, we grew up together—consider this my last piece of advice: don't make any more mistakes."

Benjamin knew deep down that if she kept spiraling, even if she didn't hit rock bottom, her life would be a living nightmare.

"What else can I do wrong? Everything has already fallen apart. All I can do now is offer my blessings, right?" Isabella replied, forcing a laugh.

Benjamin didn't say anything more, but he found her words hard to believe.

"Look, even Sebastian left. And here you are, sticking around, Benjamin. Thank you," she said, pouring more drinks, genuinely touched.

Before Benjamin could respond, he noticed a girl and a handsome guy coming down the stairs, arm in arm. He instantly furrowed his brow.

The girl spotted him too. This time, instead of walking away, she let go of the boy's arm and approached him directly. "What a coincidence! But if you chase after women like this, it'll make me look like an idiot, you realize, Mr. Beaumont?"

Tessa was blunt, clearly annoyed.

"What are you talking about?" Isabella asked, confused but sensing an insidious undertone.

"I'm just speaking plainly. I know this cheap little girl can't understand me, but you can, right, Benjamin?"

"I came to pick you up," he finally said, rising from the couch calmly and steadily.

Tessa's mood lightened a bit at that, though she couldn't help but shoot him a glare. "Then why is she sitting next to you?"

"Didn't you know I came with Sebastian? I just ran into her unexpectedly."

It was a tough coincidence to explain.

"Fine, I'll take your word for it this time. From now on, I'm only hitting up places like the Harrington Group's."

"Why's that?"

"Because anywhere associated with the Harrington Group won't allow her in."

Tessa turned on her heel and walked away.

As Benjamin watched her head towards the guy waiting a few feet away, a wave of pain washed over him. He momentarily forgot to follow.

Meanwhile, Isabella couldn't shake the embarrassment creeping in. She thought, 'Here I thought Benjamin was here for me.'

"Are you staying here?" Tessa called back to him.

Benjamin grabbed his coat and headed out.

"Benjamin," Isabella called out, disappointment etched in her voice.

But he walked out behind Tessa as if he hadn't heard her.

The guy left first, and Tessa stood in front of the bar. "Have you been drinking?"

"Yeah."

Tessa said, "Well, call a ride. I need to leave too."

"You called me out just to say that?"

Tessa said, "Who asked you out? I just asked if you were sticking around, or were you tempted by that cheap little girl?"

Benjamin often found himself exasperated with Tessa. He was older, and he didn't want to argue with her, but her attitude made it nearly impossible.

"Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I should listen to my parents and settle down with a handsome, funny guy my age after all."

With that, Tessa got into her family's SUV.

Benjamin, quick on his feet, slipped inside right after her.

"What are you doing in here?" Tessa shot him a look.

"If I'm not coming in, then who is—Mr. Funny Guy?"

"Just drive, please," Benjamin said to the family driver.

The driver kept his mouth shut and started the engine without a sound.

But the Hughes family wasn't exactly thrilled about Benjamin being with Tessa. It wasn't just the age difference; there were family grievances that ran deep.
