Chapter 896 This Is Where She Should Spend the Rest of Her Life

"Mrs. Harrington is here, please hold on."

"Okay."

Alexander took a bite of food and waited for Victoria to answer the phone.

"Hello?"

Victoria answered the phone cautiously, fearing he might regret calling.

"I re-added you on Facebook, so I can check on Strawberry more easily."

"Okay." Victoria agreed.

"What are you doing?"

"Me? Eating."

Victoria glanced at the food on the table.

Alexander felt much better after hearing that, thinking she was deliberately not answering his call, "You didn't have your phone with you?"

"Yes."

"I went to the office to handle some things after I got back. You weren't there, so I had Graham fill in as my secretary. I didn't find anyone else."

"Okay."

"I'm at the Harrington Mansion right now. My mom had some milk and dishes prepared. What about you? What are you eating?"

"Mrs. Harrington, your call."

"Okay, can I hang up first?"

"Sure."

Alexander heard the voice of Desiree on Victoria's end, but why did someone have to call Victoria at this moment?

And he had to agree.

Was he pretending to be magnanimous?

He wanted to tell Victoria not to answer anyone else's calls.

After Alexander hung up, Maximus walked in and sat across from him.

"Do you have something to say?"

"Yes, when do you plan to apologize to Victoria?"

Maximus asked.

Victoria couldn't help but smile wryly, "This isn't something that can be solved with a simple apology,"

"Of course, it's not something that can be solved with a simple apology, but Alex, you need to understand that you must do something."

"I've already left Strawberry with her. Isn't that enough to show my sincerity?"

"Strawberry was her child. Leaving Strawberry with her is the right thing to do. You need to put in the effort yourself, Alex. You're not a child anymore."

"I understand."

Alexander listened without further explanation.

The issues between him and Victoria were known only to him. They couldn't be resolved with a few words or short-term efforts.

Victoria had long moved on, but he still clung to their relationship.

After dinner, he went to the club and was stopped before he could go upstairs.

"Alexander."

A somewhat familiar voice.

Alexander stopped and turned to see Elliot with a handsome guy. When Elliot saw Alexander, he let go of the man he had his arm around and walked up with a smile, "You're back."

"You knew I was on a business trip?"

"Did you go to see Victoria?" Elliot asked Alexander.

"Yes."

Alexander thought for a moment and then left without saying more.

Elliot wanted to say more, thinking Alexander was cool.

Alexander entered his private room, where Edward and Benjamin had been waiting for a while. When they saw him arrive, they asked, "Why are you so late?"

"I ran into Elliot outside. Did you tell him I went to see Victoria?"

The two couldn't help but laugh when they heard him voluntarily mention going to see Victoria.

Alexander realized he had said too much but still kept a straight face, "What are you laughing at?"

"We thought you would say you were on a business trip."

Alexander looked at them, feeling they were annoying.

Who was it that suggested he use a business trip as an excuse to see Victoria?

He spoke the truth, yet they still questioned him.

"So, did you see her? And you stayed at Victoria's place?" Edward asked.

Edward had heard a bit from Olivia.

"We're married, so how can it be just her place?"

"Alright." Edward deliberately echoed Alexander, drawing out the word with a hint of mockery.

Alexander felt like kicking Edward.

Benjamin understood Alexander's point, that Victoria's things were his things, but said, "That is indeed Victoria's premarital property."

"That's just her family home. And this is where she should spend the rest of her life."

Alexander said domineeringly.

Benjamin and Edward felt he was so overbearing and said helplessly, "That's true."

Benjamin quickly asked, "So, have you decided to bring her back?"

"I left Strawberry there," Alexander said.

Benjamin looked at him in confusion, suddenly unsure of his intentions.

Edward asked, "Are you trying to use Strawberry to move her?"

"Is she someone who can be moved?"

Alexander asked in frustration.

Thinking about the phone call, he had barely said a few words before she hung up for someone else's call.

Alexander suddenly frowned. 'Who was the jerk calling her at that time?'

'We are living apart, and those men think they have a chance?'

'These people are ridiculous.'

Alexander thought about it and immediately dialed a number.

Benjamin and Edward were there, but Alexander didn't hide it from them.

After the call, Edward and Benjamin exchanged glances with an expression that clearly said, "You're shameless."

Alexander just asked calmly, "What? Not allowed?"

"It's allowed, but, did Victoria agree with what you just told the media?"

Edward thought Alexander was shameless.

Even though they were on the verge of divorce and living apart, Alexander still had people say such things.

The Cook Mansion.

Daisy went crazy when she saw the news.

The news said Victoria was on vacation abroad, and Alexander, unable to sleep alone, went to accompany her, and the couple spent three wonderful days and nights abroad.

Daisy threw her phone aside, feeling extremely frustrated.

"Mrs. Cook, why the rush? You just need an opportunity."

"What?"

Daisy suddenly heard a voice behind her and turned to see her hired tutor, Brian Perry, coming out.

"You just need an opportunity, and it will be you spending three days and nights with Mr. Harrington."

Brian said as he walked towards her.

"But where is that opportunity? You told me not to learn from Isabella but from Victoria, and I did, but Alexander still doesn't look at me."

Daisy was confused and even more anxious.

She had tried hard. She felt that learning from Victoria was the biggest insult to herself, but she had to do it because she couldn't miss any opportunity.

"He should not be able to tell you apart."

Brian sat down beside Daisy and started massaging her shoulders to help her relax.

"Can't tell us apart? Just say it clearly. Are you trying to drive me crazy?"

Daisy was about to close her eyes but forced them open and turned to look at him.

"Don't worry, I think you just need to wait patiently."

Brian continued to massage her shoulders.

"How to wait? But let me tell you in advance, don't think about drugging him or anything unless you can make sure he can't find any evidence."

Daisy was afraid that if Alexander found out, it would be the end of the Bryant family, just as her parents feared.

Brian's hand gently brushed her neck, speaking mysteriously, "You just need to know where he is and then find the opportunity. My people are already following Victoria."
