Chapter 979 Only a Couple's Pajamas are Combined Together
Just a few words, yet they pierce her heart.
Diana looked at Curtis for a long time, her eyes moist.
She wasn't one to cry easily, but he said so firmly that he would stay with her.
Her tears fell, and then she turned her head, stubbornly muttering, "If you go, it will affect your reputation."
"With you, the daughter of the Harrington family, what do I have to fear?" Curtis insisted.
Diana was surprised by how mature he had become.
But what he said was true; if anyone dared to ruin his reputation, she definitely wouldn't let them off.
It was rare for him to know she would protect him, and without even asking where she was going, he was determined to accompany her.
If he knew, would he regret accompanying her? She glanced around, saw a store clerk nearby, and then tiptoed to whisper the address in his ear.
Curtis only felt Diana's breath tickling his ear, but after hearing it, he held her hand even tighter. "I'll go with you, but first, come with me to have dinner with my students."
"Okay."
Diana suddenly felt a warm feeling in her heart.
It was the warmth given to her by the person she liked.
The two of them didn't let go of each other's hands even when they went out, that feeling, a mix of warmth and an indescribable ambiguity.
Diana didn't ask if he intended to get back together; she thought she would never ask again.
She wanted him to take the lead.
If he said he didn't want her, she would turn and leave.
She would be grateful for today's events and repay him in the future.
But for now, she would hold his hand while she could.
Maybe it had been too long since she held hands, Diana felt quite excited, couldn't help but use her other hand to hold his hand too, and looked down at it.
Curtis also glanced at their hands, then looked at her, "What's wrong?"
"It's been so long since I held hands, I'm not used to it."
She said.
Curtis immediately turned a bit unhappy, and he just said, "Let's go quickly, they're waiting."
"Okay."
Diana followed, deliberately wearing a wig.
Those students were a bit surprised to see her, but politely greeted her, "Miss, hello."
"Hello."
Diana responded with a smile, then sat down inside.
Curtis pulled out a chair and sat next to Diana, asking, "Have you ordered?"
"Mr. Windsor is treating, we can't let Mr. Windsor go through the trouble of ordering, we all know what you like to eat."
"You guys are pretty smart."
Diana said, quickly getting along with those students.
During the period, Leah came over with a bag, looking a bit embarrassed when she saw Diana, timidly saying, "Ms. Harrington, hello."
"What are you afraid of? I'm not going to bite!"
Diana teased Leah.
"No, I..."
"Quick, get Leah a chair, let's eat together."
Diana ordered one of the handsome guys, who immediately went to get a chair for Leah.
Diana deliberately asked, "Do you want me to give you this seat?"
"The one next to you is Leah's boyfriend."
Curtis knew Diana was joking, but worried she might go too far, as these students were quite young, so he reminded her.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Diana questioned Curtis with her eyes.
Curtis sighed helplessly, poured Diana a cup of coffee, hoping she would talk less while drinking it.
Diana knew this well; he used to do this whenever she was too sharp-tongued during a meal, and he would start pouring coffee.
This time was no different. Diana took a sip of the coffee, smiling awkwardly but politely at them.
"Ms. Harrington, are you Mr. Windsor's girlfriend?"
"No, I'm just Curtis's ex-girlfriend."
Diana said generously.
Curtis turned to look at Diana and thought. 'Why did she say she's my ex? We've just held hands.'
Then those students saw Curtis's unhappy expression and smiled foolishly at Diana.
"Who knows which woman will be lucky enough to marry Curtis in the future? Anyway, I was dumped by him."
Diana said, then turned to look at Curtis, smiling, "Don't worry, I won't hold a grudge against you, I've let it go."
Curtis just watched Diana perform, not saying a word.
The meal was quite enjoyable, and before they parted, Curtis said, "I'll go back to school for a bit, we'll contact each other later."
"Okay."
"Don't act on your own."
Curtis reminded her.
"Got it, why are you so naggy now?"
Diana felt he had developed a professional habit from being a teacher.
Curtis wasn't angry with her, just worried she might get into trouble going to that place alone.
He walked a few steps forward, then turned back, and went back to her.
Diana was a bit surprised to see him return, asking, "What's up? They're all waiting for you."
"Why don't you go back to the university town?"
"Why?"
"After I get off work, we can go in one car," Curtis replied.
Diana looked at him, feeling a bit sour inside, but then smiled, softly asking, "What? Are you afraid I'll get bullied? We're already broken up, and you still care about me?"
"Are you going back there or not?"
"Yes."
Diana lowered her eyes, not arguing.
Actually, she wanted to go back, too. She missed him and longed to be closer to him.
Curtis got the answer he wanted, looked into the distance, and asked, "Where's your car?"
"It's on the east side."
"So is mine, let's go."
Curtis walked ahead.
Watching his back, Diana's inner turmoil grew.
Forget it, she shouldn't overthink it. If he just wanted to help and she mistakenly thought he wanted to get back together, asking and getting a negative answer would be too embarrassing.
Diana thought, silently following him.
[My password is still the same.]
Diana received Curtis's message when she got back to her place, and couldn't help but smile after reading it.
She felt like she was about to reconcile with Curtis.
Diana happily returned to her place, but when she remembered Victoria's matter, she sighed helplessly, then turned and opened Curtis's door.
His door password was indeed the same as before, she walked a few steps inside and went straight to his bedroom, firmly walking to his closet, and opened it.
Her pajamas were still hanging inside.
Diana's eyes sparkled; she couldn't help but let her thoughts run wild.
If this wasn't a sign of reconciliation, what was it?
What man would hang a woman's pajamas in his closet for no reason?
Unless he was a pervert, or it was something that belonged to the woman he loved.
He had asked her to take her pajamas away, so serious and stern, but later hang them neatly.
They had loved each other, she didn't think she was foolish enough to not know if it was love or not, he was just afraid of her family.
What was there to be afraid of about her family? Was having more money a bad thing?
Diana stood in front of Curtis's closet, looking up, she found that their pajamas were next to each other, like a couple's pajamas combined together.
Were they going to reconcile?
Or maybe it would happen tonight after finding Victoria?
